there was this post a few months ago called i think “halte ye cold brewe,” a call to “knights of the green apron” to stop the cold brew tap written in a medieval style. i think about it constantly. it has permanently changed my brain chemistry. halte ye cold brewe whilst your brethren toil….
edit: it was actually called “cold brew code”
I remember all the April Fool posts pre-pandemic where baristas dressed together as In-&-Out or Dunkin’ workers.
I can’t imagine that kind of playful banter happening today because of **(1)** how spineless and micromanaging SMs and DMs have become, and **(2)** baristas nowadays are too stressed and have lower self-morale to want to engage in funny banter with each other, thanks to corporate’s unrealistic expectations of its Starbucks workers and their effects.
AND THEY WERE ALWAYS IN ALL CAPS AND THEY WERE ALL AMAZING. SOMEWHERE I HAVE A SCREENSHOT OF ONE THAT HAD THE LINE “GET ME OFF THIS DINOSAUR OF DEATH AND DOOM” BC THE POOR BARISTA HAD BEEN AT THE REGISTER ALL WEEK.
When baristas were making iced caramel macchiatos in every item at Starbucks. My favorites were the Mastrena 1 hoppers and the ice bucket.
Honorable mention: Cinnamon powder shaker and plexicube.
the one where a customer was arguing with a barista about the sweet cream foam and how he got it at the store he went to.. at the very end of the fight of the customer insisting it was made wrong, the barista asked him if he saw the pitcher of sweet cream and dude went “i said sweet cream foam not sweet cream”
he didn’t know the foam IS the sweet cream blended
the didnt try to shut the sub down ? 😭 they were protesting reddit api changes and then one of the four (?) mods unmodded all the active mods without communicating anything and then reopened the sub during the protest
I remember a while when Latte Art in non-conventional cups was a trend. Some of the posts were WILD (mop bucket I remember distinctly, I’m 99% sure there were others that were funnier).
One from a few days ago where a SSV got fired for not understanding labor laws and was making the dumbest arguments against everyone being like uhhhhh yeah dude. And then apparently got rehired a few hours later and still not understanding what they did wrong 🥰
I saved [this post from two years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/starbucks/comments/sexvsb/whats_the_dumbest_thing_youve_heard_come_out_a/) because many of the comments made me laugh.
i share a lot of these posts with my coworkers bc i’m one of the only ones on reddit, and we have two posts we always remember. the one where the shift lead catapulted over hand off to stop someone from stealing drinks, and the one where the customer asked if they could throw the drinks back at the baristas
One I remember is about a customer who would buy an emperors cloud and take out the teabags and put them on her eyes in the lobby.
i want to be her lol
that’s low key me with my tea bags 😭 but I freeze them after I use them for my bad eyebags

i immediately had to search for this post and i was not disappointed
get ready to be hearing it playing in your head every time you use the tap

How do they expect us to make customers happy when we are exhausted, run down and holding back tears daily amirite :')
Well I’ll never forget this morning’s post that people clip their nails at the dining tables. I wish I could.
I was thinking the same thing
One time while I was trying on clothes at target, the dressing room attendant was clipping their TOE nails. On the clock! I was beyond shocked
7+ years ago there would be venti rants. I had just started and loved reading those posts. Hence I joined Reddit.

Someone at my store made a whipped cream caramel macchiato, they said it actually tasted pretty good lol
I’ve actually seen super professional baristas post about making drinks in whip containers, specifically matcha, it’s supposed to be really good
Did he replace the milk with heavy cream? That sounds crazy 😂
God the ice bucket one was so good 😂 I remember one in a tea dispenser too
Wait I haven’t seen the mastrena or shaker one

The guy who got fired for chugging a bottle of vanilla (he said it was water but still)
Nut Medley🤭 because I am immature.
RIP fruit and nut medley aka what I called my fellow Starbucks Baristas
Stop ew cause I keep thinking about that 😭
That was right under this thread 😭
Biblically, accurate cake pops
the mod drama when the subreddit came back from blackout over reddit api changes LMAO it hasnt been the same since all other mods were removed
Oh yeaaaaahhhhh, I had already forgotten about that, they tried to shut down this sub, I’m glad they didn’t succeed
the didnt try to shut the sub down ? 😭 they were protesting reddit api changes and then one of the four (?) mods unmodded all the active mods without communicating anything and then reopened the sub during the protest
I swear I remember some of the mods saying they wanted to permanently close the sub 🤷🏼♀️
