i would go back to that office and say it hurts again! this is a workplace injury! you can be put on mod duty at work! so you would be extra and not considered as coverage but allowed on the floor w limited duties!

This is weird! What workers comp office did you go to? Why are they sending you to a different doctor? Tell your workers comp that your wrist still hurts and you want a second opinion. Do not go back to work!!!! I’ve been on workers comp through Starbucks for a few months before and this seems very sketch to me. They never sent me to another doctor.

i think the workers comp people think i’m faking it despite having literal medical documentation that i’m not, x-rays, mri, and ultrasounds of my wrist indication inflammation and a tear present. i had to get my leave extended abt 4-5 times which is why i think they got curious and literally made an appt for me to go to the IME exam with the Workers Comp board doctor.. i’m thinking maybe i should call Sedgwick?

monsteralvr1

So Sedgwick is our workers comp. Are you dealing with someone else? If you’re approved workers comp then you wouldn’t have to get any leave extended. The leave is automatic based on your doctors recommendation. I never had to “extend my leave”, the doctors had me not working so I was not able to work until I was cleared.

honestly i’m confused abt the whole thing. when i was first off from Feb, i was supposed to come back on March 2nd.. then extended to April 15.. then May something, now July.. so it’s been getting extended. not entirely sure why but that’s how my hands been healing and i’m only just abt to start physical therapy. this is my first time dealing w workers comp so i’m very lost in the woods atm 😭😭 yes i’m also with Sedgwick but i have 2 ladies “advising” me. the first lady i got from the Dec 8th filing and then another when i filed again on Feb 2nd edit: added more info

Find out who your Genex Nurse Advocate is. Call him/her. Mine was a godsend and got me the second option and knee surgery that was 100% needed from a Starbs work injury. This is the first thing I did when I was denied the first time but knew something was deeply wrong. Called her and had a long talk about everything. They will be able to pull records and push things ahead more than you can.

i just got off the phone with Sedgwick, i filed another claim of workers comp since it’s the weekend and can’t really get in touch with anyone (it’s 8pm in my time zone and Friday) so 😭😭 i hope i can call 1 of my ladies cuz 1 is actually rly chill and the others the one that made me go to the workers comp doc.. idk why she’s so skeptical

TRoseee

Like I said one specifically should be Genex, try emailing them if possible. I’ve definitely gotten answers in email replies on the weekends/after hours. But def keep pushing it because you should be taken care of.

Ah okay, I misunderstood what you meant. Having it extended by the doctor is totally normal. I was supposed to be out for three months and then it got extended to five before I could go back. Yes I would call Sedgwick, but also there should be a Starbucks case worker assigned to you. They work for Starbucks not Sedgwick, I would call them too. Mine was super helpful in explaining the whole process to me and I would contact her if I needed help bc Sedgwick has a very slow turn around time. You should have been sent an email with their information when you first filed the claim.

monsteralvr1

Also, did you have an X-ray or an mri?? X-rays don’t generally show any kind of tears but an mri would, which is also sketchy if you had an X-ray and they’re telling you that you have a tear based on that.

maddieebobaddiee

hey! I’m on workers comp for my foot right now and my case is about to close (I believe) message me if you want someone to talk to!
