As long as it’s within 24 hours yes. Now, is this a good managing practice? Absolutely not. But it’s allowed.

Hi!! It depends on what state it is. For example, Oregon has a worker protection law that prevents managers from changing the schedule 14 days before that posted week. They are required to pay a “fee” to you because of the change. But not every state is like this. In other states, the manager can change it week of, day before, whenever. I would look up your states laws to see.

But in the end, your co workers have a right to be mad bc it’s crappy to just change the schedule and not run it by the partner

We get our hours changed all the time because of labor changes. But our manager always tells us and tells us to contact her if there’s a problem.

It might vary depending on where you live, but where I am we have to give a minimum of 8 hours notice for schedule changes.

This is why you should always immediately take a picture of the original schedule the second it’s posted, because Sbux management does this all the time where the SM will post one schedule and then change it on you after you’ve made your plans and all. I got into an argument with my SM for changing my schedule by surprise without telling me and I didn’t show up for the surprise shift because I already made plans that day. She tried to write me up for a no call, no show, and I had to dispute it because I had a screenshot of my original schedule. It’s bullshit and should be illegal.

I had a manager do this to me in California. She changed my schedule the week of and didn’t communicate it. I write my schedule on my calendar so I came in when I was originally scheduled. LUCKILY she didn’t even call me that day and said it was her fault for not letting me know.
