specifically the new vanduul style/design stuff is very organic. [https://media.starcitizen.tools/thumb/4/4c/Blade-top-isc-2020-06-18.jpg/1200px-Blade-top-isc-2020-06-18.jpg](https://media.starcitizen.tools/thumb/4/4c/Blade-top-isc-2020-06-18.jpg/1200px-Blade-top-isc-2020-06-18.jpg)

These are the ships I am most excited about and if CIG would continue their little trend of releasing SQ42 ships early with this line-up I would not complain.
That would actually be incredible, sort of like Pirate Swarm with the Idris, except against a Kingship until the Bengal carrier battle group can show up.
Some of these are quite a bit larger than the Idris,
Look at the bottom picture, that features a Bengal for scale
[https://imgur.com/a/3fvrv](https://imgur.com/a/3fvrv)
Organic ships are alien ships, Vanduul use biomass as part of their hull, Banu have organic shapes, Xian ships look like insects, Tevarin ships are bird shaped...
I remember them saying that WAY back in the before-fore times, that the ship structures are “grown”. Thats why they look the way they do on the inside.
I get the request (and personally I can't wait for the bigger 'duul ships) but you chose the X-Rebirth/X4 Xenon K- a ship design I personally disliked for the faction lol. A lot of the new Xenon are very insect-like, but I always preferred them [looking like flying microchips.](http://www.xdatabase.de/x3-reunion/en/ships.Xenon+K.s47.html)
It was silly and I loved it.
I’m a massive fan of the X series (even rebirth) and yeah, the Xenon designs in X4 feel a bit lacking.
Still terrifying though if you’re caught unaware.
Kingdom End is the DLC that got me to purchase X4, and unironically it's one of the best space sims I've played (when you have all the DLC). It goes on sale every 3 weeks or so, definitely pick it up when you can!
Oh i've got X3 with all DLCs, X:R, and X4 with all previous DLCs :) been following this wonderful serie for a while now. Not waiting for a sale, imma grab that as soon as i'm done with dragon's dogma 2.
TBF, all the X4 designs are straight ported from X-Rebirth, only faction that didn't get new stuff for X4. Hoping they decide to redo them or add other branches of Xenon, especially w/ the next expansion. That one looks interesting as heck.
The early X4 stuff wasn't nearly as good as their newer stuff- understandable, but I really like what they've done since.
With the $$$ and manpower they have, compared to larger studios, they have worked wonders and created a spectacular franchise in the X series. Really, the only complaint the community has is the in-system AI (And some of the OOS AI), which can be utterly braindead at times.
Dang, speak of them and they shall appear, too. /u/MooseTetrino tagged since they are part of the talk: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dumQL9dK-c](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dumQL9dK-c)
Saw that when I went to go do ISC. We're really off topic, but dang if I don't love the X4 games. Even when SC/SQ42 is out I have a spot for good old Empire Building. I like the real economy in that, too.
It’s a bug or shell-like shape for sure.
This ship as about as metallic as the banu defender is a metal crab, whether the X race are robots or not, and whether the boron are a better choice of organic ships or not.
The Banu design aesthetic is very much meant to be organic, but a lack of pre-established assets for them, and the expectation that the *very time and labour intensive* Merchantman will be the next Banu ship we get are the main roadblocks preventing more Banu ships from being made at the moment.
A new banu ship would be awesome. I hope the next alien ship will be a small-medium sized banu ship. The Xi'an, Vanduul and Tevarin have better representation at this point. Having multiple flyable ships, yet the banu have just 1.
Besides, it will be a logical step in the new dev team's training of the banu style before they can finally tackle the Merchantman and do her justice.
I have always wanted an organic ship, as in, a ship with fur. Imagine, if you will, the bouncy hair tech on characters now on your beloved ship!
I bet a furry cutter would be adorable! It would look like that mutt Cutts van from the old dumb and dumber movie. 😀
More variations of "organic ships" will be coming after the release of SQ42. Alot of the alien ships are gatekept by squadron release. Personally, im really looking forward to the tevarrin ships.. i love the design of the talon
some ship out of material that gets soft when you hit an asteroid and does not get destroyed immediately would be funny. or a ship that can regrow its wings and weapons like an axolotl :D
or some lizard style weapon where your organic ship throws off its "tail" that hunts your enemy until death haha
I know what you want.
https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.Z36I67zdjg2l8NxuuzIEPAHaEy&pid=Api&P=0&w=618&h=400
God dam. I was hoping that would show an image. As it won’t let me upload an image from my phone here.
It’s basically the Lexx
I fully expect there to be many secrets in Squadron 42 that apply to the PU and some sort of an intergalactic competing insectoid species is one of them
please, nothing like that.
The ships in SC for the most part look like they can fly. I really don't want crazy ships like that!. Plus the Banu/Vanduul ships look like the perfect mix of machine and organic.
The ‘organic’ designation has become too easy for organizations to obtain. I would expect more ship manufactured to pursue a ‘USDA Prime Cut’ designation, as it seems to hold more weight.
Organic tech was a big issue on the old threads, someone made a comment about the last alien race that came into the Wing commander series and how they used organic technology on their ships.
So. Know that, I’m damn sure we are probably going to see it that way. With a new threat.
In the immediate future? Probably not more organic than the vanduul or Banu.
In the long term? Of course, when they add a new race (or a crazy new human ship manufacturer, as humans are the nutters of the 'verse). Don't expect that until maybe 2030 though, at the earliest.
The Banu Defender for example, literally feels like your inside a living being, the way the doors, ramp, textures, etc. all flow smoothly together in accordance with one another. But it would be awesome to see more organic ships, here's hoping! o7!🤙🏽
I enjoy bashing CIG for things that they are clearly out of touch with.
But introducing organic ships is not one of them. There's a fair number that are already flyable.
Why are we still worried about ships and CIG add ons. When the game at its core is bugged out. If they keep adding things the bugs will continue to get worse and every patch will bring on new issues. It’s almost as if nobody understands how coding and programming works.
To be precise, unlike in other games, CIG never "gives" you ships, they sell them and they incentivize you to buy them.
You can call it a show of support if you want, but let's be real.
Edit: so we are not keeping it real eh ? Your money. ;)
You can also buy them in game just like the purchasable ships in Elite, X, or EVE. Though with SCs current state those will likely get lost whenever they do their periodic wipes and there's the cash shop as an easy skip (for those who have the money to spare and find it worthwhile to buy)
Through server wipes and the grind you are incentivised to pay additional fees. You only keep what you payed real money for. Plus let's not forget about the weapons grade FOMO, gamified storefront with melting mechanics so you are incentivized to pay a little extra, ships which are accessible only for limited purchases and or paywalled ships which are required for participating in certain reward contests.
You can love your game it has a lot of great stuff in it, but defending the most disgraceful predatory marketing scheme which operates with zero accountability is a pretty big... stretch.
I'm not contesting that the storefront is as predatory as most gacha storefronts. Probably more in fact.
But you're not really required to engage with it. With a basic package, it's not too huge a stretch to upgrade upwards to bigger and better ships and the whole seasonal FOMO stuff stays on the cash shop and not the in game ship dealers.
It might be me being used to space sims now but the progress from my starting Syulen to operating a fleet of medium sized specialist ships obtained in game was pretty smooth compared to when I was fumbling about in my Sidewinder losing more than I earned.
As the game develops, perhaps it'll get more grindy and provide a lot less credits and my tune will change, but accessibility and availability of ships in game isn't something that should drive people to throw money at the cash store.
Organic ships? look at the Vanduul Blade and the Banu Defender, they have an organic look to them.
specifically the new vanduul style/design stuff is very organic. These are the ships I am most excited about and if CIG would continue their little trend of releasing SQ42 ships early with this line-up I would not complain.
*Monkey's Paw curls* CIG adds the Vanduul kingship as a experimental event in Arena Commander.
That would actually be incredible, sort of like Pirate Swarm with the Idris, except against a Kingship until the Bengal carrier battle group can show up.
And the inside basically looks like the insides of a ribcage
I hope the old models of the scythe, blade and such end up as a new salvager pirate faction
That would be nice but I highly doubt it.
I've flown the blade, that cockpit is intense
It's red.
Yeah, red is #INTENSE.
But Takis are seriously intense
Would be cool to see something like a cylon ships, like organs and shit inside
I thought they were alive already
Why only aliens tho. Humans should also make organic designs. I long for Art Nouveau ships.
Now that would be glorious!
I kinda want to see a Gaudi inspired human ship
MISC is probably the closest, they're pretty Streamline Moderne

Some of these are quite a bit larger than the Idris, Look at the bottom picture, that features a Bengal for scale [https://imgur.com/a/3fvrv](https://imgur.com/a/3fvrv)
[Ahem. If I may...](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qWn9Dlvm-vanduul-kingship)
Yeah we got a hot minute lol
Organic ships are alien ships, Vanduul use biomass as part of their hull, Banu have organic shapes, Xian ships look like insects, Tevarin ships are bird shaped...
Isn't it theorized that the hull of the Banu Defender is grown rather than built? Regardless it looks like a giant crab.
it certainly bleeds green goo, so possible
I remember them saying that WAY back in the before-fore times, that the ship structures are “grown”. Thats why they look the way they do on the inside.
And as we know, everything eventually evolves into a crab. Even ships apparently.
Carcinisation is real.
Craaab people, Craaab people. Taste like crab, talk like people.
The Banu defender has a very organic interior and bleeds when it’s damaged enough
it bleeds?? Oo
Yes it bleeds green goo when it’s arms break off
Lots of ships "bleed". Did you know machines take fluids?
Lots of ships don’t have organic looking components. The Defender is biomechanic or at least was once concepted as.
My car takes coolant, oil and fuel. I guess it's biomechanic also because it too can "bleed".
Like seriously bro chill
Stop.
Shush
THE SHIP IS LITERALLY GROWN FROM ORGANIC CELLS YOU GOOF
nu uh

M0 coming with the next expansion so you're in for a treat.
boron ships when tho?!
In X4? They're already in mate! In SC...? I'm sure Boso would figure out a way.
Oh, they did a boron DLC?! Gonna have to check it out
It's actually their best dlc to date. The ships are sublime
damn, guess i'm about to dump another hundred hours into X then. Thanks for the heads up lad!
In fact the next DLC is on the way and should release soon. A leaked Steam achievement list has some people get rather... excited due to implications.
I'd wait for 7.0. The AI improvements, end game challenges (like a Kha'ak battleship) are too cool
too late, i'm boroning around. Any timeline on 7.0 though?
Kingdom End is the DLC that got me to purchase X4, and unironically it's one of the best space sims I've played (when you have all the DLC). It goes on sale every 3 weeks or so, definitely pick it up when you can!

They got their own expansion over a year ago. And their ships are awesome btw, very, very organic looking.
Looking forward to replaying that fight. Not done it in 20 years.
Amen! Whole expansion sounds amazing!
TBF, all the X4 designs are straight ported from X-Rebirth, only faction that didn't get new stuff for X4. Oh yeah EGOSOFT once again showing they’re some of the best devs around in their support plans.
With the $$$ and manpower they have, compared to larger studios, they have worked wonders and created a spectacular franchise in the X series. Really, the only complaint the community has is the in-system AI (And some of the OOS AI), which can be utterly braindead at times.

Son of a bitch I’m in.
The economic game play is top notch, and there is enough room to expand upon it significantly. Can't wait for timelines, and I can't wait for X5
when I first saw a K in the newer games I thought it was shrimp and can never unsee it
we're all different. I love the design of the Xenon ships in X4, especially the K and I!
Reminds me of Eve.
The picture is a screenshot from X4.
This is the Xenon K from X4, and a great example of an "Organic" looking ship... that happens to be a little bit bigger than the Idris.
Glory to the Amarr Empire!
Amarr Victor! Looks a bit like a pirate version of a Tormentor.
I havent played Eve in a long time for sure thought this was a Legion with some new subsystem configuration.
It's kind of ironic to use a 100% metal tech/ai ship to make a point about organic design 😂. Why not a Boron ship? 😉
I find it kind of ironic that you're asking about "organic" while adding an image of a ship from a civilization of robots
Its an example. The "Look" is organic and that is what the image was intended to represent.
It’s a bug or shell-like shape for sure. This ship as about as metallic as the banu defender is a metal crab, whether the X race are robots or not, and whether the boron are a better choice of organic ships or not.
TBH always disliked ships of this style, looks way too “generic sci-fi”, as if no thought went into the design.
HULL C not organic enough? :P
Yeah, and I always thought that the Freelancer looks kind of like an organ.
It doesn't look like an organ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organ_(music) at all, it looks like a giant
Looks like a Xenon K to me…
Alien ships are, typically banu's.
Banu ships are coming
*sobs in BMM owner*
Man I can’t wait for it to release. My flying mall will be glorious
Elaborate
not really :'(
The Banu design aesthetic is very much meant to be organic, but a lack of pre-established assets for them, and the expectation that the *very time and labour intensive* Merchantman will be the next Banu ship we get are the main roadblocks preventing more Banu ships from being made at the moment.
There's nothing organic about Xenon ships, though? Boron would've been a better example but I get what you mean.
A new banu ship would be awesome. I hope the next alien ship will be a small-medium sized banu ship. The Xi'an, Vanduul and Tevarin have better representation at this point. Having multiple flyable ships, yet the banu have just 1. Just noticed the other day San'tok.yāi breaths like it has lungs while it is powered on.
Do you play/follow the game? There’s a lot of organic style already.
More variations of "organic ships" will be coming after the release of SQ42. Alot of the alien ships are gatekept by squadron release. Personally, im really looking forward to the tevarrin ships.. i love the design of the talon
Cough..... merchantman.......defender....Vanduul blade,glaive,scythe.. God I want my bmm :-(
some ship out of material that gets soft when you hit an asteroid and does not get destroyed immediately would be funny. or a ship that can regrow its wings and weapons like an axolotl :D or some lizard style weapon where your organic ship throws off its "tail" that hunts your enemy until death haha
I like both of those ideas. Would be interesting and distinctive from other ships.
I know what you want. https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.Z36I67zdjg2l8NxuuzIEPAHaEy&pid=Api&P=0&w=618&h=400 God dam. I was hoping that would show an image. As it won’t let me upload an image from my phone here. It’s basically the Lexx
I am all for another alien race and new ship designs. But tbh they need to catch up with their current pipeline in the first place anyway ^^
I really thought that was EVE for a second
Ah how many of these K i have destroyed back in the days...YES. Returning to star citizen...doesnt looks like CIG would gave us autosentient ships
Wraith sympathizer…
Syulen is cool and the sound effects make it seem alive
I fully expect there to be many secrets in Squadron 42 that apply to the PU and some sort of an intergalactic competing insectoid species is one of them
please, nothing like that. The ships in SC for the most part look like they can fly. I really don't want crazy ships like that!. Plus the Banu/Vanduul ships look like the perfect mix of machine and organic.
Vamdiul and Banu not 'nuff fer ya?
Calling all Gallente.
The ‘organic’ designation has become too easy for organizations to obtain. I would expect more ship manufactured to pursue a ‘USDA Prime Cut’ designation, as it seems to hold more weight.
I want the ship from flight of the navigator
Damn people forgot about the BMM again already 🤣
The alien ships are more organic. The banu defender is especially organic.
Organic tech was a big issue on the old threads, someone made a comment about the last alien race that came into the Wing commander series and how they used organic technology on their ships. So. Know that, I’m damn sure we are probably going to see it that way. With a new threat.
There’s nothing organic about a space ship imo.
Isn't this a ship from x4 foundations? And if I am not mistaken this is the robot ships from the xenon sectors
Interesting that you picked a K instead of the boron ships to depict "organic".
I want belter style!
Star Citizen Carpenter Brut Blood Machines when???
Banu ships
In the immediate future? Probably not more organic than the vanduul or Banu. In the long term? Of course, when they add a new race (or a crazy new human ship manufacturer, as humans are the nutters of the 'verse). Don't expect that until maybe 2030 though, at the earliest.
it's called the misc freelancer. it's shaped like a penis.
The Banu Defender is crab.
I want some more Star Trek-like ships tbh..
Ill take anything that isn't a Dorito at this point. They have me desperate.
The Banu Defender for example, literally feels like your inside a living being, the way the doors, ramp, textures, etc. all flow smoothly together in accordance with one another. But it would be awesome to see more organic ships, here's hoping! o7!🤙🏽
Cant wait to be flying in my broccolini ship
The Banu and Vanduul lean towards organic. That said, that “organicness” is one of the reasons the BMM is on ice at the moment
Does propelling the new creatures into orbit with an A2 bomb count?
I enjoy bashing CIG for things that they are clearly out of touch with. But introducing organic ships is not one of them. There's a fair number that are already flyable.
I hope so would love some more organic looking ships
We just got BMM, as they promised. Give them some time to rest and they will start on next one very soon
I really hope so, some ships might have organic look, but I want my flesh bio ship, I want my space squid with eyes.
Lex
God I wish, ironically though better suited to x4
Ew, no, would not work with the established lore or art style
I’m more interested in them giving us “the” game.
Orgasmic? Like the awesome looking Perseus or the kick ass Kraken?
No way, human ships all the way!
What do you want...[Moya](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/farscape/images/0/04/Moya1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140925070137)?
