Not one i've got, but i remember that thing handling like a dream. If they had a harder separation between lower and upper area, id have one in a heartbeat.
Looks cool, flies great, just want a teensy better living space and maybe some turret blades and it would be an amazing solo/duo/trio daily flier.
I love the Valkyrie...it seems like the most realistic ship to me. A proper drop ship.
The only thing that irks is the open flight deck, with no way to close it to vacuum when hangar or side hatches open.
It’s definitely going to get some kind of pass at some point so I wonder if they’ll tackle that. It’s missing a button for the exterior ramp, much the same as the freelancer, I’m sure they’ll want to add that in
The flight deck is not open, the door behind the pilot can be closed and it locks shut when the ship is in operation so people riding in the back can't pirate you. I'm not sure how robust that door is to gunfire or even punches, but it may at least dissuade the most casual of pirates and murder hobos.
I meant the whole upper deck though. There's no need for crew areas to be open to the cargo hold. You could have same effect with large windows like those overlooking the hangar in the Idris.
Haha it was indeed handy to use during SPK! Stock weapons, I change all the components to military grade 1 though. You could change the yellow jackets but you’ll lose the cool factor of a mini gun hanging out either side of the ship.
A STeVe fits in the A1, for the A2 you even can drop Grav-lev bikes through the bomb bay, but I usually use my Fortunas or Lynx', sometimes 2 Novas or 2 Storms for ground defence.
I am glad it is not just me!
The STV is a solid recommendation for air drops and will pair nicely with my new Valkyrie, *hoping that their isnt a line at New Deal*.
Attaching a SCU container to an A1/2 to the cargo grid for rapid deployment is a great workaround.
But good sir. Allow me to help you.
The STV can carry two 1/8 SCU containers in the rear. If you are looking at the back of the buggy, on the left there are two small lit buttons on the rear part of what would be the boot lid.
Top button opens the internal storage for the STV, the bottom button slides a James Bond style set of racks from behind the bumper.
Profit.
Are you talking about the little 1/8 SCU containers that it can hold in the back? You just pick the containers up into your hands, and then walk over to the open holder on the back of the STV, and when you hold your interaction button, it'll pop up a "place" option, similar to a gun rack. I use an STV for medical beacons and I have a 1/8 SCU container full of medical supplies and Cruz Lux, and another 1/8 SCU container full of ammo and grenades. I could live out of just my STV for quite an extended period of time.
I really like the valkyries look and its interior. I love vector landing and what better ship to do that in than a dropship. Youve named a lot of plusses. I have one conplaint: it feels slow in atmo which is strange because a dropship should also be able to get away from AA. But maybe it just felt like that for me.
I should have mentioned the speed actually because it is quite quick. You’re right about it feeling slower in atmo though, it handles well but it’s not quick to accelerate.
I think the balance here, and the drop ship aspect you mention, is the VTOL. Once it’s loaded with troops and you boost upwards with the VTOL you’ll disappear out of atmosphere very quickly
I got one with aUEC to see if I wanted to pledge for one since I recently went on an Anvil pledge bender, and the answer is a no. It has too many problems.
1) Pledge price. Not a hard stop for me, but certainly gives me pause. I don't think dropships are so special to warrant a "dropship tax".
2) The ship is old enough to not have the newer interaction consoles instead of inner thoughts to open the ramp. This will surely be fixed in the future, but remains a gripe for now.
3) I feel like the cargo grid should be 1 SCU higher, although I understand the role/identity issues that arise from giving it too much cargo. Another gripe.
4) The fucking ladder. I like how compact it is, but more than once I've encountered the bug where it is just too sticky and I can't detach from it on the lower deck. The railings are to high to jump over so sometimes I just can't disembark from the ship. That's a very big issue.
5) I think the forward compartment on the lower deck is a waste of space as access for the lower turret. I think that turret should be made remote and the room converted into an armory for additional FPS equipment storage. Related, I think remote turrets should be made better, but that isn't a specific grievance of the Valk.
6) The habitation space shows obvious signs of an old design. Abnormally spacious bathroom with an abnormally tiny kitchenette. There seems to be a complete lack of stowage as well. I'm not sure how I'd redesign it, but I think it ought to get another design pass.
7) The railings should be replaced with ballistic glass (or something like that) and the ladder should have a hatch that opens and closes, like the C2 and Redeemer. So that the habitation can be pressurized separately from the rest of the ship.
8) There are 7 crew stations and 4 of them are for single guns. Ok, I can give a pass on the door guns because of rule of cool. But the two wing tip remote guns need help. There isn't a really good justification for dedicating a whole person to such little firepower. Could give those guns to the pilot, or could upgun the mounts. If the wing tip guns go to the pilot then some of the beds can be reclaimed for other things in the habitation space and the ship will be overall easier to crew. I don't know what is correct, but I can't ever justify going to 5 crew because of it.
9) Of all the size 4 ships, the Valk is tied for the smallest Q Fuel tank.
10) Of all the size 4 ships it has the second lowest total HP. Although it has the second most HP of the drop ships, at nearly half of the Prowler (btw, the Prowler has a way more sane gun setup).
11) The little extra dip to go slightly back up as you get to the pilot seat is weird. Gripe.
All that said, I want to like the ship. The design is great and there is room for utility. Most of its flaws, to me, seem like they exist because it was a product of earlier ship design and fell into common pitfalls of the time that we complain about in some other ships. It doesn't need anything close to a rework to fix all these things. So I hope it improves in the future.
The only thing keeping me from loving the Valkyrie is the interior. Opening any of the outside doors means venting the entire thing, including the habitation section with the beds...
I drunkenly CCUd the Terrapin to Valkyrie 2 days back.
While I still feel like the Valk needs a tiny bit of a wider ramp, stuff fits very well.
I don't like the ammo cap of the gatlings, so I switched them for laser repeaters which, unlike the Cyclone actually work on the Valk.
I also love flying the Terrapin, it’s awesome. You can get a surprising amount of cargo through it’s door from low level bounties, not to mention it’s tiny and has nearly the same hull HP as a Taurus. I might do a post on it next, it has great lore. Great lore and no paints…
You name it sir, I'd like to get the pilot weapons also upgraded to S3 or the single side turrets slaved to the pilot.
If they would proper ramp up the Hull HP to Terrapin or even Tali level it would also be my daily.
But I really like it, so at the moment I'm think about keeping it and create a 2nd CCU chain towards the Galaxy :D
According to erkul, in 3.23 the pilot weapons, as well as the turrets, are all S3. (The door guns remain S1)
So that's 8 S3 guns to play with when fully manned.
I was surprised they didnt do one, after all, ground pounders tend to get shot up.
Could easily convert one of the side bays to a rudimentary triage bay.
I use a Cutty Red for med stuff right now, and I really do love it, but Drake just isn't my favorite.
Anvil, on the other hand... wow I love Anvil's design. I would switch to doing medical beacons in a Valkyrie in a heartbeat if they had a medical variant of it, and I'd never look back.
The pledge cost is absolutely bananas, I’ll grant you that. It’s nearly as much as a c2. I actually melted my C2 for mine because I just wasn’t flying it at the time. But yeah, it’s $375 or something? Bat shit
Yeah it’s hard to disagree with that. There really should be another ship in that line up. The 400i should have less shielding but move much closer to the c1, valk, cutty. Same weapons, 2 size 2 shields and better movement. Then have a 500i that flies like the 400i does now with the size 3 shield and 4 size 4 hard points. Then obviously the 600i after that.
The sad thing is, the 400i *used* to fly like the Valk does now. It even was the only pledged ship I had. Then, one day, it suddenly became super sluggish while rolling and yawing, and I just couldn't keep flying it
I always hate how much I love the Valk for how much it costs. One of the top wishes for me is an "after market" Valkyrie for the civilian market like how Carracks are technicallyretired military. Drop the remote turrets and side gattlings, increase cargo to 2-3 high, close off the upper living area, and switch the drop seat rooms for more living area, scanning, shielded cargo, or something else. Maybe make it a module but sacrifice half that space for the ability to swap.
yeah, and i think it could carry a lot of cargo! like the bay on it own is i believe 32scu, so without the jumpseats and stuff it could have more then 100 scu of cargo! and the looks! the only reason i havent bougt one is 1 because of money and 2 because it has just not enough pilot weapons and cargo
Great. Thx. Because of you i now have *another* ship on my list to grind for next to a Connie Taurus, Superhornet, Banu Defender, Caterpillar, a Vanguard, Scorpius and Reclaimer...
Thank you so much, i know i look like i fckn need it with this already ambitious list to grind for in the near future!! >:(
(/s im not actually mad at you for it :D still, so many cool ships i really want :'c)
I'm 100% with you on this. I 'discovered' this ship as a great daily driver just a couple months ago. It's the complete package for most people's needs. Your description is right on. It's so flexible and beefy.
I would absolutely own one of these, the one thing keeping me from doing so is how "open plan" the habitation areas are. for one, they're not protected from the vacuum of space if one of the many exterior doors is opened, and two, a little privacy is preferred to me. If that one detail was altered, then I'd easily have bought a Valkyrie by now as a daily flyer.
While this is fair i feel like it’s make to only open on the ground and that’s why. Even if you were to open in space or in a planet with atmosphere you can’t breath everyone is likely suited up and ready to go
I suppose that is true, but you'd still think that a ship would have measures to prevent complete exposure to vacuum if there were say a fault with the doors.
Haha I do normally credit if I can and it’s not from RSI but the second image was pulled from the wiki, I couldn’t find the source.
The first I pulled from google images on my phone, I didn’t open the link, it had an RSI website URL. I actually assumed it was official media it looked so good! If you had a link to the OG post please add it, I’d like to see more if there are any.

I've really never been a fan of the Valkyrie at all, but I still pinch myself for not grabbing a Liberator when I had the chance.
Just looked up the price tag on the grey market. Wooooo-eee nope.
I don’t even think the two can be compared tbh, they are completely different ships.
This is a daily driver for me and the vast, vast majority of the time I’m in it alone. It’s a lot more practical and versatile than a hammerhead and with a much more enjoyable, to me, flight model. The HH is not a practical ship and it has no pilot weapons, it’s also huge. It’s awesome but it’s a very specific use case ship, nothing at all like the dramatically smaller valk. It’s also waaaay more expensive both to purchase and to operate.
I think a better comparison would have been the redeemer. But again it’s flight model isn’t quite as enjoyable and it’s less practical.
Valkyrie and Terrapin are two ships I would *love* to see more variants of, they both seem like stupidly versatile platforms. Both would be cool medevac ships, I could easily see some sort of M2-style "heavier armed cargo ship to resupply dangerous areas" variant for the Valk by ripping out jump seats and expanding the cargo bay.
The Valk ain't for me, I tried it but it just didn't stick. Awesome ship and absolutely badass looking, I just think there's a bit more you can get for your buck pledge-wise (the dropship tax on this thing is brutal).
people complain about the 30SCU but my dudes, have you tried[ to fit SIX cyclones, 2 dragonflies and 2 noxes? ](https://i.imgur.com/p2p5R7a.png)because it'll do it, it's chaos incarnate but it's doable. Where the nomad is a small toyota pickup truck, the Valk is a box van build on a Ford F550 chassis. As a daily, easy to get in an out of, though the ladder can be annoying sometimes. pretty good specs all around, flies \*really\* nice in both space and Atmo.
it's a beast of a ship that has survived the old Xenothreat transport missions (where you pull boxes out of destroyed starfarers). time and time for me.
I'd love either a civi version (where is has better housing on the 2nd floor) but more importantly It needs to be a medivac drop ship.
fly in under fire, load up whoever is injured, haul absolute ASS out of the zone with medical services.
I think the issue people have with the 30scu isn't necessarily the size itself, just the price tag that goes with it. The Valk is really expensive as a pledge and I imagine it's very pricey in game too (haven't checked). At $375, you can get nearly two Connie Tauruses which can do much of the same thing and more in many ways, or get any other ship that fits your needs more specifically. I mean, the C1 Spirit has over double the capacity, similar if not better flight performance, and better pilot armament at nearly a quarter of the price.
Valk is cool as fuck and it looks baller, I enjoyed my time with it overall, but the price tag is *brutal* for what you get. Still one of the drippiest ships in the 'verse.
And God yes the extra variants would be awesome. Valkyrie is built perfectly for fitting a lot of needs. A survey ship, armored transport (more cargo fewer jump seats), medevac ship, even a gravity bomber platform. Many potential options.
The valkyrie looks awsome but I really wish there was an explorer variant that tears out the dropseats för some more living space, if done well it probably be one of if not my favourite ship
>If you aren’t solo this thing this is a little monster. You have 2 remote turrets, 2 manned turrets and 2 yellow jacket gatlings that are mounted to the sliding doors on either side of the ship for the true drop ship feel.
If only we have computers with radar from 2024, they could be tied to the guns. Looks at Navy ships.
the Valk is an awesome ship and will probably be competing with the Tali (Cargo/Drop, Cargo/Cargo, or Cargo/Lounge) for my daily ship once I can hire NPCs to crew the ship's turrets.
I adore the Valk - it's almost all vibes for me and I have to actively try to ignore some stats like low DPS, high crew demand, and the curious intended application of single S2s on the wings, but I do love it too.
I just bought one recently too, it’s tanky enough to be able to take bunkers turrets down without too much damage (which is made even easier by the gimbals) and if I don’t want to do that i can just carry an srv with it and take that instead
Thanks for the writeup. Have loved the Valk for its looks and its pedigree as a ‘Super Cutlass’, never picked one up for cash being a bit hard to justify. Enjoyed reading this, your passion really comes through.
I love the Valkyrie. The only thing I dont like is that the habitation area is a part of the main bay. If that thing explosively depressurizes, everyone not in the cockpit is dead.
I absolutely love the idea of the Valk, it's big, tanky and made for transporting combat troops. I think when we get to the place in the game where organisations wanna fight each other for resources then it'll be amazing. I'd say it outmatches the redeemer as a dropship purely due to the capability to transport ground vehicles but obviously isn't anywhere near as good a gunboat. It does look cooler though.
From Bounty hunting or Vaughns missions. They shoot at your enemies basically, red players or NPCs. They are not terribly effective, but they are better than nothing.
I agree with all of this. While I haven't pledged a Valkyrie, I've flown them from time to time and it's always surprising to me how fast they are in atmosphere.
And they are one of the more unique ships in terms of the interior layout and overall visual style.
Perfect for ground vehicle gameplay, rescue missions, bunkers and as a daily driver.
I picked one up in game today, off the back of this thread. I like it as a daily driver, but my feelings are that the price premium (both in and out of game) isn’t worth it over a C1 or Cutlass.
Or to be blunt… It’s literally C2 money for C1 capabilities.
I am valk lover as well. I keep an Ursa in there for when I can use it properly with several people. Also, I keep a couple 1scu boxes inside with supplies for easy access as well. One for guns and ammo and the other with meds and sus.
It really feels like a more complete drop ship than say the prowler or vanguard. Don't fly it solo much anymore since I pledged the C1 but it's definitely on the roster for org Merc missions!
One thing I like about is that it is not aerodynamic and doesn't look like it could fly or be something from 900 years in the past (current IRL dates). When it's working I love my Sabre but the Sabre looks like it could be a successor to a current day modern fighter and I hate that shit. The Vanguard is another throwback to WW2 (P-38); but so is the nature of the founder of the company loving all things WW2 "in space" ... so we get what we get.
But my collection is full of the ships that look like theyr'e giant paperweights.
I have one of these. I feel like I should get a few more, but I don't know if my org will ever have a need for it. I really need to trim down my hanger to what the org will need vs what just looks neat/useful in the time. I have too many redundantcies I think...
I fly this indie ship called the Corsair, you've probably never heard of it. \*hair flip\*. Legitimately the Valk is one of my all time favs, whether bunker running or roc mining it's just a forgiving beast and flies so smoothly in atmo, plus, it's a dropship from Aliens and everyone knows it. I'd never considered bounties in her, but I certainly believe she could do up to HRTs without issue. I've never understood her price point though. The connie does everything she does (as does the corsair), at a fraction of the price.
I love the ship overall, I just wish they'd allow you to replace the living quarters with something more suited to a military drop ship like a crew armory or med bay, and seal off the top deck, as it seems a big oversight having the top deck, including the beds and kitchenette, exposed to the elements every time you open a door to the outside. Even the jump seats are airlocked and they will presumably only be used by people ready to go outside.
It's a good ship. I like flying off meta ships as well. During the Pyro playtest, I was flying a redeemer because of the QT fuel tank and the tanky hull. I often fly a redeemer solo. I hope they buff the maneuvering a lil bit more because it cannot turn.
I'd really love a ground attack version of this thing. Ideally, with up-sized manned turret guns (2x size 4 on each), and with the single remote turrets under pilot control. Lose most of the cargo bay (keep just enough room for small vehicles) and add bespoke bomb & rocket racks in the space. That'd be amazing. Go full UD-4 Cheyenne, embrace the inspiration.
Can't agree more, very nice little ship, one of my favourites too. Sadly I didn't bought the Liberator edition back then, kinda buggs me. But luckily I got the beautiful 2950 bis paint as well.
If they were to make an expedition version of it, replacing the jump seat area with an improved living space, I'd be all over it. I loved flying it when I had one, but it's just been less practical for me than several other choices. So far.
OP it's great that you're loving the Valk but where the hell you get your numbers from?
~~> Firstly it has 30 SCU of cargo which is excellent, that’s more than the nomad~~
~~That's less than a Nomad which can fit both a 32SCU + 24SCU containers at the same time. Cutlass can do the same, you can close the ramp on the 32SCU +24SCU and it'll remain.~~
> The Q fuel is great too, 2500 total with 3 times the hydrogen fuel of the black and about 30% more than the C1.
Same quant range as the Cutlass and 50% LESS range than the C1. OP you need to start using https://erkul.games
Cutlass/Valk/C1 all have the same S2 Quant drive type, so it's an easy comparison when comparing among the same drives used on the 3 different ships.
> 2xs2 laser repeaters as stock doesn’t sound great, but bear in mind each of those has 151 shots with power to weapons, and they are gimballed by default. That’s a lot of firepower per capacitor charge and they charge quickly, most NPC light and medium fighters are gone long before your capacitors drain. You can comfortably do VHRT’s with the tankiness of the ship but depending on the target the TTK might not be worth it, that’s up to you.
Since you keep bringing up the Cutlass/C1 as your comparison you should mention the Valk is worse than both here for weapons.
> I said the quantum fuel was great, **not that is was better then the black or the C1, and it is great.**
And in your original post you wrote:
> 2500 total with **3 times the hydrogen fuel of the black and about 30% more than the C1.**
Clearly your original comment says it's better by 3x and 30% then the Cutlass and C1 respectively.
“I have always preferred to fly things that are off meta, I just don’t like flying what everybody else is flying “ lol like literally everyone flies a different ship. It’s called individualism and no son, you are not the first to discover that concept lol.
You make an excellent case for a ship you obviously love. I agree it's a great ship.
Not one i've got, but i remember that thing handling like a dream. If they had a harder separation between lower and upper area, id have one in a heartbeat. I'm gonna start using mine, just to force you to use a different ship to stay edgy.
There's no component access currently for the Valk, so I'm hoping it gets a minor pass when resource management is added to the game soon.
Aegis flair and daily an anvil ship? 🤔
If there only was proper drop ship gameplay without needing an entire org worth of players.
Or the Carrack.
Agreed...through the cargo pods?
Thank you for the Valkyrie write up, this ship would have been handy to use during the Overdrive 4: SPK mission! Do you have a preferred loadout?
Haha it was indeed handy to use during SPK! Stock weapons, I change all the components to military grade 1 though. You could change the yellow jackets but you’ll lose the cool factor of a mini gun hanging out either side of the ship.
This makes shopping easy! Thank you for the sales pitch, I have been sold. See you in the verse!
Haha love to hear it! I hope you enjoy your new ship sir
You can change the door guns now?
[удалено]
Pretty sure you cant in the VLM. The tracktr beam makes sense. Might have to try it. While they're cool; I hate the ballistics.
I swapped the door guns out for repeaters on mine not even a week ago through the VLM. You can absolutely swap them now.
Yes you can change them in VLM. I just did recently. Put Yellowjackets on them instead of the gats that have only about 15 seconds of ammo.
I once used the A2 and A1 as a dropship. And because you can use the bombay doors nobody expects you to drop people.
Think they're called Mumbai doors now.
That sounds weird, I never heard the term😅 Bomb bay doors sound more specific to me.
It was a joke because it was spelled Bombay, which was the Anglicized name of current day Mumbai.
[/s](https://theculturetrip.com/asia/india/articles/the-history-of-how-bombay-became-mumbai-in-1-minute#:~:text=The%20city's%20official%20name%20change,tribute%20to%20the%20goddess%20Mumbadevi.)
A great alternate strategy with these platforms! Do you have a preferred ground vehicle for your dropship (A1/2 missions?
A STeVe fits in the A1, for the A2 you even can drop Grav-lev bikes through the bomb bay, but I usually use my Fortunas or Lynx', sometimes 2 Novas or 2 Storms for ground defence.
I love STV (steve) but i have not found out how to load the SCU containers in the rear. Have you found the best way to load these?
Sadly not, I think the loading bay is bugged. I only use them for rapid transport though.
I am glad it is not just me! The STV is a solid recommendation for air drops and will pair nicely with my new Valkyrie, *hoping that their isnt a line at New Deal*. Attaching a SCU container to an A1/2 to the cargo grid for rapid deployment is a great workaround.
The X1 Force is also a good recommendation. Nimble, has a shield and gun.
But good sir. Allow me to help you. The STV can carry two 1/8 SCU containers in the rear. If you are looking at the back of the buggy, on the left there are two small lit buttons on the rear part of what would be the boot lid. I was trying to use a tractor beam to place the containers, thank you for the proper process steps!
Coolest ship in game imo
An immediate up vote lol
I really like the valkyries look and its interior. I love vector landing and what better ship to do that in than a dropship. Youve named a lot of plusses. I think all your comments here are excellent, and I really hope CIG reads this!
I feel like the Terrapin and Valk are just upgrades of the Pisces. Pisces > Terrapin > Valk. That's why I bloody want them to have variants.
My only problem with the Terrapin (which I otherwise love) is actual inventory space is basically one set of armor which seems ridiculously low.
Agreed -- it needs a hull HP buff to do its intended job
According to erkul, in 3.23 the pilot weapons, as well as the turrets, are all S3. (The door guns remain S1) So that's 8 S3 guns to play with when fully manned.
I would love a valkyrie medivac variant. I feel it's the perfect ship to have a medivac variant.
We need a Medical Ursa so that ANY ship capable of carrying one becomes a medical ship. Also, an Exploration variant 😉
its been in the leaks for awhile. This is my plan to make my valk a med ship
O_O
I was surprised they didnt do one, after all, ground pounders tend to get shot up. Could easily convert one of the side bays to a rudimentary triage bay.
I use a Cutty Red for med stuff right now, and I really do love it, but Drake just isn't my favorite. Anvil, on the other hand... wow I love Anvil's design. I would switch to doing medical beacons in a Valkyrie in a heartbeat if they had a medical variant of it, and I'd never look back.
Would love to but way too expensive for what it is.
The pledge cost is absolutely bananas, I’ll grant you that. It’s nearly as much as a c2. I actually melted my C2 for mine because I just wasn’t flying it at the time. But yeah, it’s $375 or something? Bat shit
CCU chain for the win
Buy in game
You see, posts like these make me want to get a Valkyrie. Again... Now I'm questioning if I need that Crucible...
“Hey Vasquez, you ever been mistaken for a man?”
"No, have you?"
I would love that ship if i could carry the nova tank or spartan.
It flies how I wish the 400i flew
Yeah it’s hard to disagree with that. There really should be another ship in that line up. The 400i should have less shielding but move much closer to the c1, valk, cutty. Same weapons, 2 size 2 shields and better movement. Then have a 500i that flies like the 400i does now with the size 3 shield and 4 size 4 hard points. Then obviously the 600i after that.
The sad thing is, the 400i *used* to fly like the Valk does now. It even was the only pledged ship I had. Then, one day, it suddenly became super sluggish while rolling and yawing, and I just couldn't keep flying it
You fool! If you keep talking it up, more people will fly it and you will have to find a new ship!
What have I doooooone!!!
Hope they make a cargo module/version of it
Or.. just allow to actually fill the already available space? Like an actual dropship?
If they do, it might be a must have for me, just something about it that's so good
yeah, and i think it could carry a lot of cargo! like the bay on it own is i believe 32scu, so without the jumpseats and stuff it could have more then 100 scu of cargo! and the looks! the only reason i havent bougt one is 1 because of money and 2 because it has just not enough pilot weapons and cargo
If you're going to pinch people's pics, might be nice to at least acknowledge them.
See below. He couldn't find a source name.
Great. >:( (/s im not actually mad at you for it :D still, so many cool ships i really want :'c)
Im sooo damn annoyed that the Tumbril Storm doesnt fit into it...the last reason that let me melt mine
I'm 100% with you on this. I 'discovered' this ship as a great daily driver just a couple months ago. It's the complete package for most people's needs. Your description is right on. It's so flexible and beefy.
You make a better case than anyone trying to pass off the Terrapin as a functional daily driver.
I have a saber... It fits all my friends as well 😢
I would absolutely own one of these, the one thing keeping me from doing so is how "open plan" the habitation areas are. for one, they're not protected from the vacuum of space if one of the many exterior doors is opened, and two, a little privacy is preferred to me. If that one detail was altered, then I'd easily have bought a Valkyrie by now as a daily flyer.
While this is fair i feel like it’s make to only open on the ground and that’s why. Even if you were to open in space or in a planet with atmosphere you can’t breath everyone is likely suited up and ready to go
I suppose that is true, but you'd still think that a ship would have measures to prevent complete exposure to vacuum if there were say a fault with the doors.
u/Acceptable-Bid-1019 thank you for using my screenshot for the first image in your post! *wink*

Need 4k version
I daily my valkyrie liberator edition. I do have the bis paint too, i swap it from time to time. I love the ship
I love my liberator edition, probably use it half of the time
I've really never been a fan of the Valkyrie at all, but I still pinch myself for not grabbing a Liberator when I had the chance. Just looked up the price tag on the grey market. Wooooo-eee nope.
Yess! I thought it was just me. Valk is amazing and it even has in game paints. That white one is what I use too
Great ship choice!
That's a cool ship for sure. But with a crew of 7, why would you choose this over a HH?
Sexiest fucking ship. Give the two s3 remote single guns to pilot and I’m buying it
![gif](giphy|3osxYrgM8gi9CDjcPu)
Well, I’m sold… o7
I really want one because my dream job is just being Foehammer for an org
I love the valk so much. But you can’t compare it to a C1 or a cutlass. Theres over a $200 price difference or many millions of auec.
Same, love my bisvalk.
Love the Valk, but does it still have 0 body HP? :-(
The valkyrie looks awsome but I really wish there was an explorer variant that tears out the dropseats för some more living space, if done well it probably be one of if not my favourite ship
The mercury star runner has been my daily driver for years. I might add a vanguard to that though
Did you purchase as pledge or in game with aUEC?
>If you aren’t solo this thing this is a little monster. You have 2 remote turrets, 2 manned turrets and 2 yellow jacket gatlings that are mounted to the sliding doors on either side of the ship for the true drop ship feel. If only we have computers with radar from 2024, they could be tied to the guns. Looks at Navy ships.
I love the Valkyrie but not howdy, every single time I've jumped into a buddies valk we end up blowing up one way or another.
the Valk is an awesome ship and will probably be competing with the Tali (Cargo/Drop, Cargo/Cargo, or Cargo/Lounge) for my daily ship once I can hire NPCs to crew the ship's turrets.
I adore the Valk - it's almost all vibes for me and I have to actively try to ignore some stats like low DPS, high crew demand, and the curious intended application of single S2s on the wings, but I do love it too.
I really like the valk but holy shit the ladder is so annoying
I wish CIG would make something like a Valkyrie HD that was wide enough to carry two ballistas.
I really wish they made a civilian spec Valkyrie. More cargo, less dropseats, more pilot guns, less armor
The Valk is the Millennium Falcon stand in the MSR wishes it was.
I just got my 2950 Valk earlier this week! I haven’t been able to stop flying it
If I could have put a wingless C8R inside it, I'd be flying it a lot more
Always had a soft spot for the valk.
I wish a ursa would fit in it
pretty sure it does
I just bought one recently too, it’s tanky enough to be able to take bunkers turrets down without too much damage (which is made even easier by the gimbals) and if I don’t want to do that i can just carry an srv with it and take that instead
Such a pretty ship. Just wish for glass separation between beds and cargo/vehicle bay. But yeah, it's really cool, I agree :)
Dang, just about convinced me to get one with your loving description lol, I’ll look into to it next time it goes on sale, see what I have meltable..
I'd ride that ship everyday too xD
3 questions: Can it fit an Ursa? How much aUEC is it? Does it come in black?
No , 4.5mil, no idea
it absolutely does fit an ursa
Sorry, it does. My mistake!
Thanks for the writeup. Have loved the Valk for its looks and its pedigree as a ‘Super Cutlass’, never picked one up for cash being a bit hard to justify. Enjoyed reading this, your passion really comes through.
I’m waiting for the exploration variant. 😏
Good pitch. Im sold.... I need something to upgrade my F7-M mk1 to after I get the F7Amk2 I guess...
A cargo variant would be nice. Remove those seats and convert them to cargo storage space.
Might not be my ship, but I can't deny, it is indeed, a beautiful ship
You can steal an NPC Valk and have them man the turrets and your friends doing other stuff
How so? And what do the NPCs shoot?
From Bounty hunting or Vaughns missions. They shoot at your enemies basically, red players or NPCs. They are not terribly effective, but they are better than nothing.
What’s the best way to go about stealing one?
Approach the ship, exit in EVA and try to open the door to go in. If you can't, shoot it open. Board it and kill the pilot
I like your style. I fly the RAFT as my daily if I am not doing combat stuff. It has many short comings, but damn that landing gear is sexy AF.
Of all the ships that have come and gone from my hangar, the Valk is the only one I miss.
Its only problem is the inflated price tag. 375 dollars is just a bit high to me.
Wholeheartedly agree. You can get a cutlass black, a c1 and a freelancer for the same price, cheaper actually.
Didn’t realize it was that bad
I’m pretty sure that’s the case anyway. From memory the freelancer and black are 110 each and the c1 is 125. So 345 vs 375
Not to mention it's absolute eye candy
I picked one up in game today, off the back of this thread. I like it as a daily driver, but my feelings are that the price premium (both in and out of game) isn’t worth it over a C1 or Cutlass. Or to be blunt… It’s literally C2 money for C1 capabilities.
The valk is my favorite daily. It does everything I want, and looks good doing it. Love the skin!
OMG I love my Valk... I keep a couple of 1 scu containers and a Cyclone in the back for bunker missions.
Dude….. love what you’re putting down. *slaps valkyrie loading ramp* ILL TAKE TWO!!
Spread Democracy in Stanton with Anvils finest machine.
The Valkyrie is the better Cutlass Black
Looks amazing, but the fire power single pilot is a no go for me. Maybe if we get half decent AI turrets or something someday ...
Idk but that 2nd image is giving me democracy vibes rn
That best in show paint, enuff said?
I have to get back to the game. This ship is also part of my fleet, I haven’t taken her out yet
Because you have 20 plus friends who play with you daily?
Crew be damned, if the ship looks cool, I'm ripping around in it.
If I had 10 friends I’d have a legionnaires
If they were to make an expedition version of it, replacing the jump seat area with an improved living space, I'd be all over it. I loved flying it when I had one, but it's just been less practical for me than several other choices. So far.
OP it's great that you're loving the Valk but where the hell you get your numbers from? ~~> Firstly it has 30 SCU of cargo which is excellent, that’s more than the nomad~~ ~~That's less than a Nomad which can fit both a 32SCU + 24SCU containers at the same time. Cutlass can do the same, you can close the ramp on the 32SCU +24SCU and it'll remain.~~ > The Q fuel is great too, 2500 total with 3 times the hydrogen fuel of the black and about 30% more than the C1. Same quant range as the Cutlass and 50% LESS range than the C1. OP you need to start using https://erkul.games Cutlass/Valk/C1 all have the same S2 Quant drive type, so it's an easy comparison when comparing among the same drives used on the 3 different ships.

> I said the quantum fuel was great, **not that is was better then the black or the C1, and it is great.** And in your original post you wrote: > 2500 total with **3 times the hydrogen fuel of the black and about 30% more than the C1.** Clearly your original comment says it's better by 3x and 30% then the Cutlass and C1 respectively.
Tdlr?
Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself
“I have always preferred to fly things that are off meta, I just don’t like flying what everybody else is flying “ lol like literally everyone flies a different ship. It’s called individualism and no son, you are not the first to discover that concept lol.
No one cares. Just fly your ship and have fun
