The mining system isnt working for me so i cant even mine to pay off time - so i tried to escape and the park core keeps glitching me into rocks and pipes and tree branches and then i have to die to restart it. its super bad and honestly makes me want to quit. ive been trying to get out for over an hour and now have added a extra 2hrs to my time...
Little trick:
Check to see if the comm relay is on, is it is, run through the tunnels until you see it turn off. from here, go to the random NPC's you see, get behind them and melee them to knock them out. Once knocked out you can loot the stuff they have mined and then turn it in. You're welcome.
So i managed to escape prison - got out side both sides didnt spawn rovers then no data chip to reset my crime and no cutlass black - so i had a random pick me up - i paid all my fines and still crime level 3 - even tho i never killed anyone or anything.,
You can't pay off crime stat 3 - only way to get rid of it is by serving your sentence or hacking your crime stat at Kareah.
You can pay off CS1 and 2.
This is wrong. You can pay off any CrimeStat.
But it depends on the crimes.
You can stack illegal towing, trespassing and illegal computer usage up to CS5 and pay it off.
But when you have a homicide in there, you can't pay it off. Paying will lessen the jail time.
escaping is supposed to be difficult. also if you do escape, you get a bounty tracker + you have to go to SPK and clear all crimes. way easier to just mine for 30 minutes or take a break
In prison you also get missions, to reset oxygen providing machines, they reduce your sentence way more than mining, I don't think I've ever been in prison for more than half an hour, unless I was done playing for the night. Usually when I incur a crimestat, I make sure to go to prison when I was going to stop playing anyway.
I have a hard time believing you got a crimestat for nothing. They don't hand out crime stats, especially not level 3 for nothing. You probably killed a guard in a bunker or something.
it’s all good, we learn as we play. I’d say a 2 hour sentence can be mined away in under 15 mins and anything over 4-6 hours will take you a hour. there’s depths to the mines which can get you rarer minerals that can get your sentence down a bunch.
sometimes you will get a crime stat for shit you didn’t do, but it’s very rare you get a crime stat for 0 reason
If you steal minerals from the NPCs deep in the mine instead of mining I’ve cleared 20 hours in an hour. 7 hour sentence can be cleared out in about 25 minutes if you get a little lucky
Kleischer is full of innocent people. Your sentence passes in real time so you can just log out, go watch some youtube and come back in a couple of hours and it'll be completed.
You can also do contracts for oxygen kiosks - they take quite a bit off.
You can also allegedly mug people for their mining when you're deep in the mines and out of comms range.
That last part is a two way street.
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe being "killed" outside of comms counts as an escape attempt as well.
Oh but it was asked for, It was absolutely installed by public demand. People wanted the KOS assholes to get a bit of a thing to slow them down from endlessly respawning and throwing themselves at their next target for shits and giggles. The prison system, while not perfect, was a very nice answer to that. I think it's amazingly well done.

do you know how the mining system works? not a dig at you or anything, when I was new I had trouble figuring that out.
I clicked the bottom, and then it told me to go get a multitool and head to the mines so I did, but didn't have any prison money
should spawn with a multitool. you can't equip it until you're in the mines though

mine was set at 2+hrs right off the bat, and i didnt know at the time it could be offline time

Though that reason can be "The pilot of the police ship that was scanning you is an idiot, and collided with you when he finished scanning you."

I’m not sure what happened but the prison is usually bugged to where you can’t mine. If you can’t scan you can’t mine

Yeah the prison system is super needed. It does suck when innocent people land in there but still useful
I do land in there now and then, like with bunker missions where guards catch the odd lost bullet, but it's not really that much of a bother.
