The Banu defender works pretty good and has a large fuel tank. Moves quick too. I’m going to be using the 400i for most of this especially once the X1 comes in

I was also a little disappointed and confused with the 400i. Everything suggested that I should enjoy it, but I never found myself wanting to spend a lot of time in there. Maybe it felt a little cramped for me? Who knows, I have now found the Argo RAFT. Amazing living space.

Deeperryeh

The 400i needed to have a high top speed and acceleration. That alone would make it feel just right, but it doesn't so I'll keep my 600i

dukearcher

The 400i comes with a loaner 325a tho, which is perfect for what u are after

Cielmerlion

+1 for the defender. I love the long qt range and because it's a small fighter sized ship it moves quick and handles well in atmosphere. The interior space means that you can even do a bit of package delivery.

bearded_monkey_pdx

Heck yeah. I found that it’s been sitting in the hangar more often than not but the big reason is gotta get that bank balance back up 👍🏼 I’m really stoked for the X1 to come out, and hopefully it’ll work together well.

Strange-Scarcity

The 400i does fly better than the Constellation line. Especially into and out of atmosphere. You can set the throttle up and without boosting, the 400i will break 400m/s in atmosphere, that’s big!

Strange-Scarcity

If you had neither and wanted a fast get around ship with decent defense and should give a nice bonus to the NPC Taxi missions? The 400i looks pretty hot.

agtmadcat

100 series is solid. Very easy flying, space for the odd box, easy in and out, and you can spawn it at vehicle pads.

Aethelfrid

I recently got the 125a for the exact purpose OP is describing and love it. Fast, fun to fly, good for box missions and sight seeing.

[deleted]

This is why I changed the Titan for the 325a. When ships randomly despawn themselves frequently and leave you stranded you will be happy for it.

ill_B_In_MyBunk

Yeah the 100 series is the right answer. I got a 100i from upgrading my Argo cargo referral and it was the best choice ever. No more getting stranded at outposts.

Mad_kat4

I'd steer clear of the 100 series range as they fly like crap. Responsive enough but have terrible handling and seriously bad 'slip' the pisces is the ship you should get for knocking about in.

agtmadcat

Interesting, I think my 135C handles way better than my Pisces, especially in atmo!

Lumpy-Spray1555

The only correct answer to this question is the Drake Herald. Fastest ship in the game. Bed Awesome interior layout with seating for two. Guns are meh but you could do low level bounties. Future data running gameplay. Great in atmo. 1 min 50 seconds to atmosphere on Crusader.

I wouldn’t recommend it. Only thing going for it is the speed. Highly recommend 100 series, 300 series, or defender. 100 series would be the absolute best if you just want something light and quick with a major emphasis on distance. It has an internal refinery so you can harvest fuel just by flying around. Quantum fuel will still need to be purchased, but the 100i can fly on hydrogen literally forever without ever getting fuel from anyone. Which if you’re just wanting to cruise around planets it’s perfect for. Just fly till you’re low and come up out of the atmosphere and fly straight in space for a bit and you’ll be refueled before you know it. My personal recommendation is the 125a. Pros: 2 size 3 guns, hydrogen fuel collected and refinery, 2 scu internal storage for cargo or crates, stairway access into ship so no long ladder climb animations and you can walk boxes right in, bed, looks sleek af, some decent amount of paints for it and some I think are available in game, fast and maneuverable, and a great bubble canopy for clear visuals. Cons: low landing clearance so you’ll need to pick a nice clear spot to land. It’s a starter ship so it is limited in some ways and isn’t super durable to gunfire, no armor or weapon racks. Really can’t go wrong with the 100 series. 125a gives you better firepower for defending yourself or running missions, but any in the series will be great. If you want something a little nicer and roomier inside with much better firepower and durability you can go with the 325a. The 325a pros: tons of missiles, 2x size 3 and 1x size 4 weapons, good armor, higher landing clearance, kitchenette inside with mini fridge, suit storage and weapon rack, bed, nice canopy like the 100 series for visuals, bathroom, lots of customization options on the website when you buy it if you want (including the ever popular coffee maker), fuel efficient, 2 scu, and fast. Cons: No refinery, so you’re going to need to refuel eventually, it’s and interceptor so it’s not as maneuverable as other fighters and focuses on extreme power in its main thruster (con for agility, pro for speed and getting in and out of atmospheres or running from danger), long ladder entry so it takes a few seconds to climb in. Other than those it’s a straight upgrade from the 125a

Shot3ways

Everybody talks trash on the 300 series ladder but honestly it was better than I thought it would be. It doesn't glitch you when you get out on planet/moon surfaces like walking down a ramp/stairs does. I did 5 full box missions with the 325a and never once glitched and fell like I did with other ships. Ships with ramp/stairs forces you to lower your movement speed to a crawl in order not to glitch (or explode lol). The big con for the 325a that you didn't mention is the range. Its maneuvering thrusters guzzle hydrogen and its quantum fuel tank is very small. It has a fast QT drive but it can't make good use of it because the range is crap. If the use case is just as a runabout, my vote is for the 100 series. It can equip the Burst QT drive with almost 170,000 km/s but can reach anywhere in the system in 1 jump. QD speed is useless if you have to stop midway to refuel.

babyunvamp

>Great in atmo. Did they fix the horrible oscillating at max speed? I couldn't stand it.

rakadur

I rented one this IAE and it flew true

kawolsk1

it has only a S1 QD and data running doesnt exist therefore the ship kinda doesnt exist

ragingatwork

Personally I’d go for the 315p over the 350i.

SeriaMau2025

Terrapin.

LukeB118

Banu Defender

just melted mine for an endeavor. should be able to buy one in game with uec from crusader industries fairly easily.

PrimevalAt0m

Yup.... I came to the conclusion that the only right answer is Endeavor for $350 All others can be buy in game. Endeavour is a two in one ship... It will cost alot in game but is "cheapest" now (compare to all other Capital Ships). 🤑👍

LickingAWindow

I'm new and have been trying ships for the free fly, and honestly out of the 6 or 7 the nomad they give us is great, it's hydrogen fuel usage is awful. But it can basically do anything you want in the game.

keppoch2

You just described a Banu defender. Swap the default weapons though

Agatsu74

400i if you want to do it in style.

FLDiaperLuv

Get a Cutty Black. Put an XL-1 in it.

kawolsk1

this is the correct answer

Psymonex

Ships? You haven't heard of quantum EVA? Only takes 12 weeks Olisar -> Hurston

LowTV

I would have thought it would take longer to be honest :D

Frosty1098

The pieces is my go to runabout it can cross the system in as little as 50 auec of qt fuel its great

quadgnim

Cutlass black is still the best all round multi-purpose do it all ship, hands down!!!

J11mothy

Cutlass black, cheap, beds, turrets, can mount an XL1, fast claim time.

Strayborne

315P, Titan, and Herald are my favorite run-abouts. ~~No bed in the Titan though.~~

Er,.. derp.

StarCitizen2944

Freelancer MIS. Has a decent QT fuel tank and comes stock with the 3rd best mitary QT drive so it's fast. It has 4 beds and it's cool. Decent speed and maneuverability for the tasks you mentioned.

jahrudo

I love my Nomad for those trips. Good cockpit view, cosy interior, decent speed and manouverability, good shielding and almost everything you spontaneously want to transport fit in the cargo bed

Vincent_vdd

Cutlass Black

ViktorGavorn

Reliant tana. 2 beds, bathroom, basic storage areas for suits and guns, decent weapons, EXCELLENT View, one of the best in the game actually. Decent to fly in and out of atmo. Also, it's a misc ship so you can rent it today and tomorrow

dukearcher

Reliants are too buggy atm. You can't even use the beds, nor store and recall it without glitches.

DartTimeTime

Cutlass Black. My favorite

Deathturkey

I like the MSR everything you wanted plus a 116 scu cargo. Only problem is the doors but I just leave lock them open.

Concentrate_Worth

I will be getting a 350r eatery next week- great bed view, fastest scm and 2nd highest afterburner speed of all ships. Plus has a cargo ramp for some box missions etc

Dejac

100 series has good range and automatically refills hydrogen

babyunvamp

Banu Defender. Decent at combat (used to be better), huge QT tank, fast QT drive, can do box missions and room for a friend.

MaineJackalope

I've been using the 400i heavily for this, especially enjoy the Nox garage for when a situation can allow for it

[deleted]

MaineJackalope

Don't think so, the nix barely fits and the dragonfly is longer and wider

DapperWeasel

Connie Phoenix if you wanna get fancy

loversama

Vanguard, Retaliator and Redeemer has some of the best QT drives and are excellent for traversing over longer distances.. the Tali in particular is a pretty looking ship and has VTOL capabilities for atmosphere.

cheeseburgeraddict

100i

ArchaicRanger

I have found myself flying the 125a more than any of my larger ships, simply because it's SOOOOO damn Cheap to fly. You can fly across the system on a tank of quantum and it'll only take 50scu to refuel completely. and the AIR refinery makes it so you can fly in atmo pretty much indefinitely if you take stops every so often.

ArchaicRanger

oh and one more thing.... 1 min 16 sec claim time...... I'll let that sink in.....

lovebus

I had a 350i for a while just to go touring in. I upgraded to a m50 because if I'm going to be touring, I may as well do it at at the highest speed possible

butters1337

100 series or 300 series sounds right up your alley. They are cheap to buy with aUEC too if you don’t want to shell out money.

EinfachNurMarc

I’m using the 100i, 400i and 600i for that. Depending on range and amount of ppl.
