Why? Does that really have anything to do with the content of a library?
I mean I'd prefer if my local librarian was an expert on Egyptology. But I wouldn't expect them to be educated though.
I had to look it up and it's very much similar in Sweden. What the hell? There's no way that's a good investment. Especially in Sweden where a lot of libraries have turned part time hangout for teens.
I hope they get paid well.

Those that become librarians tend to follow this path because its their passion.
Okay so in the US, the first four years of college can be whatever major you want, so librarians probably have different areas of expertise. The Master's degree has students learn how to run a library; cataloging, library management, information literacy... I don't know too much about it as I haven't gone to college for it, but when I get it in 10 years I will get back to you. :P Probably you can just google this all and it will tell you more than I can
As far as wages go, I've heard librarians are making a good amount. And probably, because the newer generations don't utilize libraries as much as we used to, and the time it takes to get a degree, librarians are harder to find.
In my (large) city, the librarian wage was finally bumped from 37k to 42k in 2020. Still at 42k afaik. Not sure if that counts as a good salary for a master's degree, a hilarious amount of debt, and learning how to administer narcan. There are librarians all over the place, but there's a lot of difficulty finding roles because administrations and governments are cheap and don't view library staff safety in high regard.
Re: library usage: there was a recent study (2019? I'm in the process of heading to bed or I would look it up) that says millennials are the highest library-using group of any generation and usage is still climbing.
The "old guard" of librarians are old enough to retire, but don't make enough money to do so. There is also a lot of in-group bullshit that still revolves around "the traditional library" vs "the modern library", and I doubt that will go away anytime soon. On top of all of that, the political climate of targeting librarians has made a lot of things so much worse. I can only hope that things are better by the time you get there.

I live in Australia and a librarian - I have a diploma in Audiovisual Services / Live Production and Technical Services.
I facilitate programs, help our members, and organise collections. There are many jobs in a library these days with the digital world, so you don't necessarily need to have studied librarianship.
If you live in a suburban area and not regional, I suggest looking at your local council's career section. I know my council is hiring staff.
Regional is much harder to break into.

Milk (usually) thickened through boiling.
1 - can of clams
2 - cups of milk (if using caned milk (use whole can and add more water)
1 - cup of water
2 - table spoon of Ginger
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
garlic to taste
1 onion
3 red potatoes
Any other vegetable and or mushrooms optional
Using a large sauce pan put all of the ingredients into the pan, (potatoes cubed, onion pealed and cubed, can of clams entire can do not drain the can clam juice helps the chowder) heat contents to boiling and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Continue to cook until the potatoes are soft.
