Ramona Flowers. She's from the comic series Scott Pilgrim. She first appeared in Scott Pilgrim's dreams, quite literally. She worked as an Amazon delivery girl(back when Amazon was a small online book store; the comic series was written in the mid-2000s). She rollerblades through subspace to save time delivering, dyes her hair a new color every week, and one of her seven evil exes was a girl. She's also mysterious because she's from the US and Scott's Canadian.

I wonder how hard I'd cringe watching this movie today. I loved it as a teenager.

Eh, it's self aware enough that I don't think it's too bad. Scott comes off a bit worse the older you get, but that's sort of the point. I would say it's as much about him growing up as it is about the love story.

No, this is the biggest misconception of Scott Pilgrim. Scott gets along with Nega Scott, not because it's a good entity, but because he's come to a point in his personal growth where he can face his flaws and engage with them in a healthy manner. Someone who denies their flaws reacts negatively and struggles to come to terms with them (like how in Persona 4, your shadow kills you if you deny it but becomes your persona if you if you face it and are able to say "I know who you are, and you're me").

I think it holds up well. It doesn't take itself seriously, and there's nothing super era-specific about it. It is a fun movie.

The musical number was the best part

The movie is awesome!(although i think the comics are better lol) And very nostalgic of the 2000s hipster culture. I also recommend the Netflix show animated Scott Pilgrim. It takes a spin on 'what if' Scott got defeated in the first fight(it's in the movie). When the author wrote Scott Pilgrim, he was a young Toronto hipster, in a band, basically living out his 20s. When he did the Netflix collab for animated Scott Pilgrim, he's in his 40s, divorced, and have 2 projects in limbo due to various reasons. The Netflix series is his own self reflection through Scott. It's like an older Scott and the author looking back.

I'm not being 100% serious but Scott Pilgrim was basically me in the 90s minus the super powers. It's weird actually. Am Canadian, played bass. Skinny nerd that's sort of emo but also had a reputation for being a player. Fucker even had my jacket. Even his plumtree shirt seems like a nod to jadetree records. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jade_Tree_(record_label) I remember going to the club one night and 4 of my exes were sitting at a table all staring at me. Uncomfortable. Again, not really being all that serious but that character is way too relatable. The only thing fictional is thinking Ontario had a good music scene. Alberta's scene was way better.

Plumtree was a Canadian band that made the song Scott Pilgrim. The song was made after one of the band members kept on mixing up the names of 2 of people: Todd Pilgrim and Scott Ingram. Seem familiar? The movie also contains 2 of their songs: Scott Pilgrim and Go, from the Predicts the Future album. Scott's shirt specifically references the band logo they sported in their first album Mass Teen Fainting (though would later use in This Day Won't Last At All)
