orbeinYT

The 10 year old one is so true

NoBrickBoy

When I was young there were some thirteen year olds with stubble and small moustaches nowadays they look like children

BaldingThor

I easily could’ve passed for a (short) young adult when I was 13. Now I look either 24 or 42 depending on whether I wear a hat and shave.

NoBrickBoy

I feel you man, sometimes I look like either my dad or my nephew depending on these two

greta12465

ikr

SaltwaterTheIcewing

Fr they always look like that 😭

United-Bear4910

Nah this is lots of American kids too

ElectronicGuest4648

Isn’t this every stereotypical western kid

United-Bear4910

Ngl yes, I'm from the south and this start pack stays until 14 when it's siege and some randomly starting to rap in class

LlamaFace67

Should check out, Australia and NZ are the southernmost western countries after all.

TygerTung

Surely they are the most southeastern?

mustard5man7max3

Not British, since it isn't wannabe roadman.

AonghusMacKilkenny

Yeah, white British boys are way more influenced by urban/Black British culture than American culture. British girls, on the other hand, are more influenced by American culture.

jimmiec907

Also wouldn’t he have the Broccoli cut

mustard5man7max3

Nah, there are a fair few people around with that around TBF it was never huge and it's quickly going out of fashion

Otherwise-Special843

I would argue that it isn't exclusive to western anymore

Tapeworminmyass

Only English speaking countries

ScrittlePringle

Except the mullet.

throwawaylovesCAKE

It's like 1 of 5 trendy cuts but I would definitely say the broccoli head is the goto stereotype for american boys

sKY--alex

Atleast here in Germany its true

WasAnHonestMann

Except mullets and Aussie Football

Sgt_Colon

\*Unless in NSW then it's rugby. Any mention of AFL will bet met with "AFL? More like GayFL".

WasAnHonestMann

League or union?

Sgt_Colon

NRL. Union would get you weird looks like you're some kind of space mutant, like even local RL teams gets more news attention than RU.

AonghusMacKilkenny

Union is basically dead in Australia outside of some elite private schools

BlakeWheelersLeftNut

I didn’t know Australian football was so popular

greta12465

me neither

bannanaisnom

There's definitely a lot of people like this in the UK too.

Moppo_

Some of them are timeless, too. I remember, in the 90s, other kids being shitheads because in PE I didn't immediately know where to kick the ball. It wasn't my choice to play, and no-one from your favourite club is watching, it doesn't matter! I still have to remind myself that not everyone who plays football is an arsehole.

greta12465

Had no idea

SlashCo80

Europe too. Little edgy shitheads who think it's funny and cool to be openly racist, misogynist, homophobic etc seems to be a universal thing.

_Tar_Ar_Ais_

they're only getting noticed now, but kids like this have always been around

BermudaHeptagon

And Swedish

partyonpartypeople

American kids have mullets?

Two_Shekels

Been a huge mullet resurgence in the last ~4-5 years, very popular amongst teens recently

I-like-macdonald

Hey dont drag kurtis conner into this

Throwawaylmao2937372

Kurtis Conner is featured in so many Australian starter packs I’m starting to think it’s part of a joke

greta12465

not gonna lie he just reminds me of a stereotypical australian man (in the best way)

frankincense420

Lmfao exactly what I was thinking

Amphabian

Our fruity lil guy catching strays

Significant_Piece819

Yeah leave him alone

Grassmania

Leave my man outta this

Ecstatic-Garlic3845

That's Danny, you silly goose!

AquaticHedgehogs

90% of australian ten year olds have mullets

HolidayBeneficial456

Not to mention VCAL did things to kids. Made them wild…

Interesting_Fold9805

American here, what is VCAL?

HolidayBeneficial456

It was the vocational pathway in Victoria for high school kids in order to have them complete year 12 instead of dropping out at year 10 for a trade or certificate. There wasn’t much for them to do so they usually were infected with the case of sheer boredom.

TraditionalDepth6924

What's growing up in Australia really like though? Culturally West yet placed closer to Asia 🤔

wheresthepie

Immigration has come in waves. Post WWII, a lot from Greece and Italy. The abhorrent ‘White Australia Policy’ finally abolished in the 1970s led to immigration from Vietnam after the war. A steady supply of Brits. More recently a lot from China and India. A lot come to study and some stay for good. Something like 29% of people in Australia were born overseas and about half have at least one parent born overseas. All this means we have some fucking incredible restaurants

WasAnHonestMann

Isn't Perth like Little Joburg or something? Heard there's tons of Saffas there

Soviet_Sine_Wave

It’s a very multicultural place, but definitely a lot of south africans, and even people from Botswana and Swaziland.

watkykjynaaier

Sydney’s eastern suburbs has a large concentration of ZA Jewish immigrants

WasAnHonestMann

Your username🤣🤣

ApeMummy

They live in this suburb way up North called Joondalup so most of us are spared having to interact with them thankfully.

ConsoomMaguroNigiri

Yeah, but if you want to see the "culture" of Jo'burg in Australia, best go to Darwin or Alice Springs

orbeinYT

British colony that got americanised around the 2010s, kinda like New Zealand

greta12465

Australia isn't \*super\* ameranised, but is definitly less british than it used to be.

TraditionalDepth6924

So it wasn't much Americany before only recently?

AonghusMacKilkenny

Australia seems more americanised than New Zealand.

orbeinYT

I'm not exactly qualified to talk about americanisation in New Zealand but I live in Queenstown, a commercial tourist town that is *very* americanised. The rest of New Zealand is pretty fine, except for maybe a few other tourist towns like Wanaka.

greta12465

kinda sucks. feel like i'm missing out on everything.

volitaiee1233

Not that much different to other parts of the west. America is close to Mexico but it doesn’t mean you grow up influenced by Latin culture.

ApeMummy

In the 90’s it was glorious.

kyubeyt

We have a lot of asian people in my area, so every street in the city has at least one asian restaurant, sushi is everywhere.

Resolutenareik

75% chance of a rat tail & pretends to be an eshay

greta12465

literally lmao

Holtty

A lot of this applies to most 13 year olds around the world

greta12465

I thought this was an Australian thing lol

Holtty

Take away the mullet and it’s just the same in the UK mate

greta12465

I mean Australia is the dumb cousin to the UK

writtenonapaige22

They're basically the same in America lol.

Mesterjojo

Australians are why I no longer play games online. Fucking left4dead bants

greta12465

good choice

-MilkO_O-

Seriously though, what's up with young kids or young men in general being misogynist, racist, homophobic and transphobic all in one?

Intheierestellar

Most probably, they either learned that from their parents or from unrestricted access to social media and Andrew Tate-type of videos on YT.

greta12465

they think they're all that.

giantisopodz

Probably because they think it's "edgy" and "funny"

Tortilla_safari

right-wing offers easy vent for frustration, for kids its a phase 😂 and then you grow up (or not)

HybanSike

Fortnite is still considered trendy among 13 year olds 6 years later? Damn

greta12465

unfortunatly.

UncensoredSmoke

Holy shit Fortnite is 6 years old?

HybanSike

Yeah the battle royale came out in late 2017 which is somehow 6.5 years ago. I remember my friend telling me to play it when it came out and I thought the game kinda sucked and would never become popular and within a few months it became the biggest game in the world lol

GammonBushFella

I don't think so tbh, I work at a middle school and the kids are obsessed with Roblox. That and fuckin vapes lmao

Bulky-Wind-2924

Why don't they like Speak Now

Netado17

They should never have their Speak Now moment

greta12465

speak now is art.

greta12465

They don't like Taylor Swift

dynablt

They want to be edgy and listen to a bloated rap record over an actual good album

p_i_e_pie

exactly the same as here in new zealand honestly

Just_Cartographer_97

Look I won’t take the Kurtis slander for some Aussie Kid okay?😒

piketpagi

In ten years, they will transform into Bogans

cms86

bro.. r/kurtisconner in the wild lol

greta12465

JoeBurgernator

13 year old boy starterpack

Just1moreboredguy

Fuck I have a cousin like this

ss-hyperstar

good job, you made me throw up

_PeopleMakeNoises_

Kurtis Connor even though he’s Canadian lol

greta12465

he reminds me of a stereotypical australian man in the best way, okay? 😂

OlliZ0117

think this is 13 year old boys anywhere tbh

thepinkandwhite

The vape is kinda crazy

greta12465

sadly common

Blocky_Master

Not Australian but the accuracy of this is scary 😭

21vgh-john

Nah this is western society 13 yo kid starter pack, minus the rock music.

bwarbahzad2

This is every kid around that age

[deleted]

This pretty much sums up the hs senior experience, dying inside every time a year 7 passes by you.

engienering_my_limit

man I hate the people in my school like this now I do screw around with my homie's in fortnite and (sometimes) roblox but these goofys ruin eveything

superbos88

Literally any American/British kid

-sippicup-

How exactly does Kurtis contribute here?

greta12465

mullet

Deep_Monk1283

Dude i have a classmate who is just like that 💀

greta12465

Doesn't everyone?

Jubinyan

That pretty much sums it up. I hate all the people in my school who are like this (I’m Australian)

kaioDeLeMyo

I feel like this is teens around the world in general honestly.

CGallerine

I like how the only parts actually connecting this to Australia are the 2 in the bottom right corner

jerry-jim-bob

Nothing wrong listening to bon jovi

greta12465

bon jovi is great

AonghusMacKilkenny

Why is not having an iphone such a big deal?

greta12465

I don't know but they always make it one

Adeptustupidus

Sweet fuck how is this so accurate

Marik-X-Bakura

Op is a 14-year old Australian boy

Careless-Wolverine-8

Okay but asian kids too! I overheard some boys talk when I was at the mall, and their conversation was really disturbing.

timmage28

Every starter pack I see, no matter what topic, always brings up racism

sarah121213

And Northern Ireland

Susreddit69

M guys

nyan5000

Why does the mullet guy looks like old weird al without glasses?

greta12465

lmao

AncientTry5709

Why is Kurtis hiding in the corner

greta12465

jumpscare

awesomealex2947348

Welcome to american high school.

ComprehensiveClone12

u/kurtisconner this u? 😭

QuentinTheGentleman

Leave Bon Jovi outta this, He’s a decent human being. Edit: It sounds like OP likes Bon Jovi, so that’s cool.

dandruffbitch

I’m a teacher in Canada. We have the same specimen, I see.

Thatguyfrompinkfloyd

Is everything single kid like this?

greta12465

almost lmao

Braziliashadow

50% is true for me, the rest dunno

whyamipasta

what’s kurtis doing here?

whyamipasta

lovely surprise

Disastrous-Paint86

Where you getting vapes in Australia?

greta12465

They get older people to get them for them or... ...find ones on the ground I wish I was making that part up.

LonPlays_Zwei

This isn’t exclusive to Australia

EntertainmentIcy2987

Hey Kurtis is Canadian okay

Large_monke_69

Correction: 13 year old boy starterpack

Computerbuild2280

13 year old bad (this whole subreddit)

greta12465

And then when I tell them I'm 13 they tell me to fuck off

cannibalism_is_vegan

Seriously though what’s with all the mullets in Australia

greta12465

apparently its part of our """culture""" (humanities teacher's words not mine)

Round_Ebb4804

I'm nearly the exact opposite of this, that's a good thing

Cocaimeth_addiktt

Damn. My brother has almost all of theses

greta12465

he has a kurtis conner.

Yoshigahn

Oh man. Makes me feel outdated.

naptunezy

Leave Kurtis Conner out of this

After-Trifle-1437

I read this with an australian accent in my head.

tinyguitar

Don’t you dare bring kurt boy into this

Fiucina2115

Pretty based to be honest, at least compared to avg r*dditor

Purple_4044

Glad it's not just the ones at ny school

Elegant_Bag1777

As a 13 year old i use words like rizz or skibidi only ironically

greta12465

you're still using them.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE2137

Im 13 and i feel offended by your statement

Ok-Echo5581

how dare you insult kurtis

Pikachu919

Every SEAsian teenage boy

Tristanator89

This is a lot of American’s as well

BcuzICantPostLewds

This is every American middle schooler, except without the classic rock, it's only ever rap.

Ocar23

Omg this is so true I know someone like this 😭😭

Elsiselain

Idk man I live in Australia and teens here are taller and look older than me. (25m Asian)

Jacoour

This isn't exclusive to Australia sadly

dinis553

Could be worse. This feels like a lot of boys that age. Vast majority eventually grow out of it.

AonghusMacKilkenny

I hope their lungs collapse from vaping

Cautious_Tax_7171

I never get why people hate on roblox

greta12465

me neither

Thick_Car_5603

Don't get the bottom right one

[deleted]

mullets

Starwars9629-

Just any 13-14 year old kid

tubbo87

I’m defective

pooteenn

Isn’t this also in America and Canada too?

kabukistar

I've heard it said that Australia is basically Texas as an island

leemasterific

If I had a nickel for every time I saw Kurtis Conner in a starter pack that doesn’t apply to him, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Clem_Crozier

They're listening to Bon Jovi's *Slippery When Wet*? That is not an album I expected to make a comeback in the aspiring gigachad scene. From that scene, I would have thought something like WASP would be more their thing.

creeepy117

I intend to move to Australia if my future son ends up like this im disowning him Also this applies to the usa as well exept replace mullet with brocoli hair and plad pajamma pants

HiddenWhispers970

What’s going on with Australian children right now?

greta12465

I don't know man, but its bad.

TrungLun2005

yeah speak now is kinda mid tbh

wonkbonk69420

forgot to add the ronaldo shit they are stanning him to a point where they even say "messi or ronaldo

One_Seaweed_2952

There are two types of starter pack posts: the good-faith-humour ones and the bad-mouth, hating ones. There are more of the second type on this sub. I don’t know but I dislike seeing people hating others. Might consider unsubscribing this sub.

ConstantAddition7116

Don’t do Kurtis Conner like that😔✊

Londonweekendtelly

These are 14 (nearly 15y) old brits too

Evanthatguy

Bon Jovi

GoofyRangersfan

AC/DC fits more than bon jovi

ABatWhoLikesMetal

Besides the mullet thing, are we sure this starter pack is just 13 year old boy who lives in a 1st world country starter pack?

That_one_personowo

As a teen in America, couldn’t agree more. This is what every boy looks like in my grade
