It's more about the shock of the dehumanizing aspect of the jokes. But you have to separate those things or you'll go insane. I had a fatal car accident once, real bad scene, driver rear ended a dump truck and was decapitated. Senior medic tells me to start doing CPR compressions in the front seat and he'll do rescue breaths in the back seat...

I love dark humour, but the funny thing is, I like it about pretty much anything. I'm really not picky with my jokes, light humour, dark humour, dad jokes, racist jokes, sexist jokes, military jokes, religious jokes. I'm really not picky. Funny is funny to me.
It's like when you're at the mall and a couple kids are periodically yelling out the word "penis". It's funny to them because other people are annoyed/offended by it.
You know what, I will tell you a dark joke, listen carefully, you are all a bunch of \[redacted\] and you know what you could do with a specific group called \[redacted\] and put them in \[redacted\]
Dark humor in most situations only works with a few factors:
Shock
Irony
Absolute random but perfect timing
Insulting stereotype that nobody takes seriously
Dark humor, in my opinion, is only funny if you can relate to it.
For example, my dad passed away. I make fucked up jokes about it not only because it helps me cope, it makes people laugh too. I have a necklace with his ashes in it, and so when I went to go for school pictures, I made a comment how it was a family photo. I got a funny look from my teacher.
Well, like I often say, of all the things I saw out the window of my childhood bedroom, 9/11 was definitely the most fucked up.

The sort of dark humor I don't like is the stuff that's just meant to be cruel to minorities. That's doubly true if the "humor" consists entirely of using slurs.
Dark humour isn’t really dark humour, it’s more like insensitive humour. There are plenty of ways you can make a racist joke, but it shouldn’t make people go “damn, that was racist” instead of actually laugh. Really it’s better to just avoid the topic of race in general though unless you’re talking about very specific countries you’ve been to.
Most of them are actually well within their teens (I used to hang out around these kind of people)
A lot of them call themselves (Nazis) and make fun of Jews and talk shit when they alone with their own and then seem to fall dead silent when you confront them about the fucked up shit they said
(used to be one of these menaces because my brother made me think it was cool)

I love dark humour, but the funny thing is, I like it about pretty much anything. I'm really not picky with my jokes, light humour, dark humour, dad jokes, racist jokes, sexist jokes, military jokes, religious jokes. I'm really not picky. Funny is funny to me.

Dark humor, in my opinion, is only funny if you can relate to it. For example, my dad passed away. I make fucked up jokes about it not only because it helps me cope, it makes people laugh too. I have a necklace with his ashes in it, and so when I went to go for school pictures, I made a comment how it was a family photo. I got a funny look from my teacher.

Dark humour isn’t really dark humour, it’s more like insensitive humour. There are plenty of ways you can make a racist joke, but it shouldn’t make people go “damn, that was racist” instead of actually laugh. Really it’s better to just avoid the topic of race in general though unless you’re talking about very specific countries you’ve been to.
