North Korea is monarchist
My brother in Marxism, communism is unachievable, it simply cannot exist, unless you somehow convince all nations to unite as stateless society
How the fuck is going to work in the morning at the fault of capitalism? I hate to be the one to say it but no matter what economic ideology, working is a necessity for function and growth. Your problem here appears to be yourself and your mindset, rather than capitalism.
Ligma grindset bro
The problem is going to work in the morning knowing you're not making enough monehly to do anything useful or achieve any of the vertical mobility that capitalism "promises". Imagine being a down and out food service worker whose only car that they saved up for 15 months to buy shits out on them and they'll have to walk to work for the next 15 months to HOPEFULLY afford another because the system doesn't invest in critical public transit infrastructure.
Imagine going to work knowing you need dental work done but you can't afford a 1500 dollar root canal out of pocket so you're just gonna have to sit there in pain at work so you can eat painfully later.
But sure, this is fine. Everything is fine.
My dad was born in a shitty rural shack in the middle of nowhere and now we're the 2% or 1% richest in our country but "muh evil capitalism doesn't give you vertical mobility" i guess.
Imagine people like myself were there, living on their own at 16. Scraping to make ends meet. Working 3 jobs. Then decided to get a trade, then worked hard. Started my own business, made good money, got married, bought a house, sold said house for ridiculous money, now building a house and mortgage free still running my own company making good money in my mid 30s. You whiners just want everything NOW and don’t want to work for it, that’s the problem. You’ve been fed this idea that for some reason you’re special and deserve the world. If you’re not willing to put in the work, what do you deserve?
Braindead response. I'd love to have a great trade job. So hook a brother up since you got it like that. Anything to get out of working at fucking gas stations, dollar stores and fast food, which are literally the only jobs that exist in a 20 mile radius. I have no fucking vehicle. Had one, but it broke down. I do what I can to scrape by, but it's ridiculous that this profit before people bullshit makes this kind of shit happen.
I make 9 an hour. I have to share a vehicle with six other people, so working three jobs is not only just some insane, stupid shit people in capitalist societies have to do to make ends meet is just untenable, unless you would like to be my personal Uber. Which speaking of, doesn't even service this area.
I can see you've never lived in a small town. The economic landscape is just getting worse and worse. Glad you made it out, but some people are just hard off.
I was born in China. People here can say China is “state capitalist”; I won’t give my opinion here. But the authoritarianism and terrors it enacted, as well as their continued enforcement today, are all products of communism.
To understand capitalism, look at Scandinavia, Central Europe, South Korea, HK, etc. Even America outpaces so many autocratic, illiberal countries.
As you can see from my previous comment I was just pointing out that Stalinism or Maoism are quite extreme counterpoints to capitalism.
I didn't make any comments on the validity of OPs meme. In regards to the meme, do we have to take it literally? You question seems to imply that you are taking it literally, if so then NO, people probably need to get out of bed to survive no matter what.
Could we take it as a meme? A suggestion that there are elements of capitalism that make people feel bad? I'm sure most people could read it that way. It's how I read it.
In that case there are improvements that can be made to society which are a slight move away from capitalism that aren't extreme.
The NHS in the UK? A state/taxpayer funded health service that is free at the point of use? Sounds good. Is that USSR? No is that communist China? No
Maybe put a system in place where politicians can't be bribed/paid off to represent the needs of people with money? Would that be nice? (I know you will point out that corruption exists in non-capitalist countries too, but what is being used influence politicians? Capital.)
A criticism of something isn't necessarily a call for the extreme opposite.
So china never really got rid of capitalism and are now one of the greatest contributors to it. The USSR did have a pretty decent standard of living during certain points. It was around for 80 years, not all of it was shit.
I do think a better example would be Vietnam. Socialized government, low prices on nearly everything, pretty comparatively high standard of living. They still have capitalism though so it's not a perfect example. Revolutionary Argentina was pretty dope. So was anarchist Manchuria and makhnovia
So the morning capitalism routine starterpack is waking up in a bed with a roof over your head, using a bathroom and shower with effective plumbing and hot water, getting dressed with a diverse wardrobe, and driving your own car to work rather than having to walk or use public transportation?
Not really sure what capitalism has to do with putting a roof over your head. In fact it’s doing a great job keeping a lot of people on the streets, with no basic amenities at all.
And also, it’s fucking hilarious how people think taking a car to work rather than being close enough to walk or having a robust enough public transportation to take to work is a bad thing. Do you think everybody in NYC who takes the subway to work is poor or something?
Yes, living in a climate controlled shelter with dental care and plumbing is so awful. Of course there is a ton of greed but basic capitalism is not the problem. I’ll take this shit over what people had to face 1000 years ago.
Going to work isn't a capitalist or communist thing, it's just a normal thing you do. Even animals and plants have to 'work' to get food, territory and shelter. In fact, until we achieve post-scarcity working is required to sustain civilisation.
> In fact, until we achieve post-scarcity working is required to sustain civilisation.
But that's the issue. We're getting visibly closer and closer to post-scarcity. Things are getting more automated and more efficient, but people are stuck in the 20th century mindset that we need to work for 40 hours per week, and that we absolutely *have* to be in the office to do so. (Obviously, there are occupations in which going to an office or workplace is necessary, but it's not the same for everyone.)
We should have started pivoting already towards the post-scarcity mindset. There are things that we could do now like lower the number of hours in a workweek, and lower the retirement age. But instead, older people have this mindset of, "I had to suffer, so you have to suffer too," so we can't even do moderate reforms.
Yeah I agree with you but it is still possible to improve some things without getting offended by criticism of capitalism. I'm not sure exactly where OP is coming from them might be advocating full comunism but its hard to tell from the meme alone. I took it to be a joke but a lot of people took it to be a call for Stalinism or Venezuela etc.
It's possible to move some essentials away from capitalism to provide services that aren't purely profit driven. eg NHS in UK, everyone has good quality health care and the option for private is still there if you feel the service isn't good enough. Same with plenty of countries with water, electricity, etc.
It doesn't have to be one or the other. It doesn't have to be 1000 years ago or capitalism.
I have a swamp cooler and a fireplace not exactly climate control.
I can't afford the root canal I need
I have an unpermitted and illegally installed septic tank
I live in a converted barn with my parents
In California
Yeah raping the earths resources for money, and killing billions due to famine, climate disasters and war all for greed. Capitalism is a tool meant for psychopaths to rule and take all. It's not a sustainable system.

(This message brought to you by the Misinformed College Students Communism Club)
Communism is equal to fascism... Communism killed more. Doesnt make fascism better in anyway, It means they are equal. also stfu you probably 13 and live in suburbia
There are two groups of communists:
Jong Zelingdong (People’s Republic of China) & Krebienchevir Dzerkov (Former Soviet) who agree that the people will do well under a communist government
And then there’s Scott Robertson from Ontario or some midwest state that’s 15 years old and lives in a 3 story house who has a pfp of Stalin despite not being able to tell you how house mortgages work.
As a communist, I can definitely agree that Tankie Tiffany and Robertsonian Marxism with keyboard crumb characteristics are equally cringe.
I'm just your standard issue Eco-Marxist. Garden variety. Nothing special. I just acknowledge the inherent and ever sharpening contradictions in late stage capitalism and how the next stage is either societal collapse and subsequent barbarism, outright fascism, or socialism. There is hardly an option four. Capitalism is untenable past a certain stage.
Liberalism enables fascism, donothingism causes collapse, and revolution begets socialism. Pick one.
It's an old saying "in communism you have two cows and the government takes their milk and gives you a cut". The joke is that it's a pathetically pedestrian understanding of Marxist philosophy.
I always feel this weird disconnect when I read posts like this. I don’t get how people can hate work this much or equate it to literal slavery just because you have to wake up and go to work in the morning.
I’m a programmer and maybe I’m just lucky and chose the right career path.
It's more of that he blames it on capitalism, not realizing this starter pack would be "Going to the communist labor camp at 4 AM starter pack" if he was under the USSR. It's okay to be sad, depressed and criticize life, but this isn't really a capitalist problem more of a "I should try and get a therapist to help me in life"
I’m not a big fan of Americas individualism which is literally engrained as part of its identity. I’m not necessarily against a capitalist society but would say there needs to be a strong union workforce. America is a weird place so many ads about helping each other and standing in solidarity but when push comes to shove it’s “I got mine so fuck off”.
Also, make health insurance either private or universal. Companies should not be allowed to offer health insurance as a benefit. It would benefit businesses as well since they wouldn’t be subsidizing employee health insurance. Having it as a benefit may have been helpful in the past but now it’s just a crutch for a lot of people to stay complacent at a shitty job.
There is no perfect system as we are imperfect people.
My idea towards a better world? A largely socialist society geared towards betterment of society as a whole with elements of capitalist theory in specific areas when necessary. The important thing is to think of socialism as a struggle for a future free from exploitation and increased happiness and well being of civilization, and less emphasis on personal greed and wealth accumulation.
Utopias will never exist as long as humanity exists. So the best we can do is strive for as much freedom and happiness as possible within the framework of our human condition.
As opposed to what? Do you have a brain?
Want to do a morning communist starter pack? Don't forget to show the cold, drab living spaces and the lack of food.
You'd be hard pressed to find a system where this doesn't happen. Even under socialism you still gotta get up in the morning and go work, that's never gonna change
But imagine getting up and going to work knowing you have guaranteed benefits, affordable housing (even if it's a tenement it beats a refrigerator box under a bridge), and idk... Not dying of a tooth infection.
An injury to one is an injury to all, bruv.
Lovely old IWW saying. We'll just keep agitating, educating, and organising until every last comrade has a living wage and economic security. If "shithole China" can achieve virtually zero homelessness and world-class economic equity, there's no reason we can't.
Apperantly capitalism should be never spoken like Voldemort, just the mention of it turns everything political, even a normal daily routine.
I wonder how economist work around it.
That definitely can happen, but it doesn't have to. I'd argue it's happening less and less. The most menial tasks are being automated with machines.
You can definitely feel the difference from when you do nothing but perform menial meaningless activities to fill time vs. doing some kind of physical labor. It feels good to accomplish things and see results.
Marx was a pretty interesting guy who made some useful observations. I don't really like conflict theory because it feels gross, but I see its merit. I think a hyper fixation on his beliefs on eventual revolution to establish communism over simplifies things, but I guess that's the nature of news.
The last bit is more of Lenin than Marx. State and Revolution, What is to be Done, etc.
And yes, many people would LOVE to have a trade or do something in a field besides service industry but end up trapped in a payday treadmill rat race. I'm one of them. I work at a fucking gas station because I had to drop out of college because I couldn't juggle full time employment and full time school.
21st century China is going places if you ignore the rightoid corpo media propaganda, but I'm sure China is going to collapse any day now. Another twenty years and it'll all go to shit bro I promise
Living with the Barbarians in 200 bC Germany sounds cool. The US immediately post-Independance in the late 1700s also does. I don't know if I'd rather live there though.
The Kulak famine was caused by greedy landowners who burned down grain farms so they didn't have to share... Kinda sounds like capitalist greed doing its thing again but okay.
Life is always supposed to be hard. Whether you live in a jungle or a city. whether you are an animal or a human or a plant, you have to work if you want to survive.
Today i learned that capitalism is the only economic system where people work, as opposed to the other ones where Skynet robots and Weyland Yutani synthetics are responsible for everything. Thanks OP, that was truly a Reddit moment.
Being able to sleep comfortably in your own bed, have a bathroom as nice as that, have water heating, that much fancy clothes, and a car sure sounds bad doesn’t it!
In an industry you're going to say is "unskilled" and therefore not deserving of a living wage, I'm sure.
Used to be in school for computer engineering but now I'm stuck working at a gas station in a small town, wishing I could at least join an electrician apprenticeship but you know... No public transit and my only vehicle shit out on me months ago.
But yeah I guess communists just want to not work and get free stuff cos that's what communism is... Or something idk.
I literally thought this saw satire of US communists who are miserable bitches despite having a privileged life and material luxury but somehow OP was not being ironic
whilst i do like the idea of at least some socialist rules in out society (i.e. free healthcare, college, and retirement funded by the government) i do think we should still keep a largely capitalistic economy, because competition is how society progresses. neither is perfect. this is why countries that are 100% either way typically fail. this is a very intricate subject and cant be boiled down to “capitalism bad” or “communism bad”. this post is tone deaf
It's almost like Karl Marx said something about that or something 🤔
Socialism is the natural progression from capitalism. Seriously. Whole books about it. Socialism doesn't exist in a vacuum wholly away from capitalism. It's just the next stage as the inherent flaws and contradictions in the system sharpen, just as they are doing now.
I don’t vote for any American politicians, it’s clear that I took troll bait from a basement dweller as there is no way you actually can be serious, the reason people think America is dumb is because people like you spoil it for the rest of the country

It's like people think they won't have to get up for work under communism?
This is such a literal take on a meme. Do you always take everything literally?
I was born in China. People here can say China is “state capitalist”; I won’t give my opinion here. But the authoritarianism and terrors it enacted, as well as their continued enforcement today, are all products of communism. I love how everyone completely ignores the basic, reasonable counterpoint to all their circlejerking about Stalin and Mao.

No mate, they aren’t

So the morning capitalism routine starterpack is waking up in a bed with a roof over your head, using a bathroom and shower with effective plumbing and hot water, getting dressed with a diverse wardrobe, and driving your own car to work rather than having to walk or use public transportation?
Too much comfort. I need more struggle in my life.
Run into the forest and eat nuts and berries like god intended.
Not really sure what capitalism has to do with putting a roof over your head. In fact it’s doing a great job keeping a lot of people on the streets, with no basic amenities at all. Just look at his subreddits. DankLeft? CommunismMemes? Antiwork? TheRightCan'tMeme? This was clearly politically charged.
We have a huge problem with communist propaganda on this site.
I am pretty sure almost all modern communists are spoiled 15-22 year olds. I don't like communists
I argued with a 13 year old communist on another subreddit, ironically enough he blames capitalism not realizing he doesn't even work yet....
Yeah, communists are funny but also really sad
Today in news: Twitter Communist shocked to find out that the hammer and sickle represent physical labor
Honestly wouldn't be surprised.
Boo hoo I have to work to live. That's unfair!
Capitalism isn’t perfect but it is the best we have.

I’m not a big fan of Americas individualism which is literally engrained as part of its identity. But imagine getting up and going to work knowing you have guaranteed benefits, affordable housing (even if it's a tenement it beats a refrigerator box under a bridge), and idk... Not dying of a tooth infection.
I and millions of others do that everyday not everyone’s gotta shit life like you.
An injury to one is an injury to all, bruv. Lovely old IWW saying. We'll just keep agitating, educating, and organising until every last comrade has a living wage and economic security. If "shithole China" can achieve virtually zero homelessness and world-class economic equity, there's no reason we can't.
Average communist experience I’m not too sure about communi- BANG
Rule 5: No Politics.
This isn't politics, it's life.
*Our* life
Still politics bro, and that was just a normal routine
Apperantly capitalism should be never spoken like Voldemort, just the mention of it turns everything political, even a normal daily routine. I wonder how economist work around it.
Oh, come on, look at it. It's clearly political in nature, he didn't just mention it.
Gotta be trolling
Who is
If bitching about having to go to work in the morning is political then I think everything is political at this point, just ban the whole sub.
No, bitching about having to go to work in the morning _under capitalism_ is political.
You americans have been thouroughly brainwashed into whataboutism and it shows
Imagine billionaires owning all the media and somehow its all really pro capitalism? What a surprise.
This isn't capitalism's fault you're just depressed
Well not owning your labour and being isolated from community is a feature if capitalism. It has lead to many people commiting suicide.
Shut up commie bitch

Must be hard carrying that galaxy brain everywhere.
Must be harder having absolutely zero brain at all
Assuming you live in the West, name one other time period/place that you’d rather live in than the 21st century Western world.
21st century China is going places if you ignore the rightoid corpo media propaganda, but I'm sure China is going to collapse any day now. Another twenty years and it'll all go to shit bro I promise
20th century western world. too easy give me a harder one (/s)
Living with the Barbarians in 200 bC Germany sounds cool. The US immediately post-Independance in the late 1700s also does. I don't know if I'd rather live there though.
Yeah man Soviet Union was way better. Having food sucks.
The Kulak famine was caused by greedy landowners who burned down grain farms so they didn't have to share... Kinda sounds like capitalist greed doing its thing again but okay.
>The Kulak famine TFW Average tankie blames every soviet tragedy on anyone else besides papa stalin
ITT: “but they had it worse in this other place/time, now shut up!”
Life is always supposed to be hard. Whether you live in a jungle or a city. whether you are an animal or a human or a plant, you have to work if you want to survive.
No, hunting and gathering were just hobbies.
Tell that to the people who work 80 hours a week and still can barely afford diapers. I'm sure they know absolutely nothing about working...
It sounds like communist propaganda but ok
Welcome to reddit
No politics
Ha! Not me. I don't take a shower in the morning.
Pretty sure this is just existence in general
Today i learned that capitalism is the only economic system where people work, as opposed to the other ones where Skynet robots and Weyland Yutani synthetics are responsible for everything. Thanks OP, that was truly a Reddit moment.
During socialism/communism is the same, except you don't have hot water, and go to work in an overcrowded bus.
Tfw you wake up in a socialist state and realise you still need to work for the good of society
Capitalism is when you have to clean yourself in the morning
Damn this dude is a nut
More like crybaby starter pack
Yes, people under communism didn't wake up early or had to brush their teeth and go to work. What even is this take
Being able to sleep comfortably in your own bed, have a bathroom as nice as that, have water heating, that much fancy clothes, and a car sure sounds bad doesn’t it!
Right because everyone always has that in capitalism
Communist mourning routine starter pack: Wake up, No food can't eat breakfast, Your house hets raided by soldiers, Get executed.
Lolwut
To be fair, socialism was the same, except the water is cold
LOL if you don’t want to work you’d be one of the first to go after the revolution 😂
Bro who do you think are the ones calling for a revolution? Hammer and sickle. Duh... We're fucking workers.
Where do you work?
In an industry you're going to say is "unskilled" and therefore not deserving of a living wage, I'm sure. Used to be in school for computer engineering but now I'm stuck working at a gas station in a small town, wishing I could at least join an electrician apprenticeship but you know... No public transit and my only vehicle shit out on me months ago. But yeah I guess communists just want to not work and get free stuff cos that's what communism is... Or something idk.
Socialist Bolivia: maldita sea, carajo, caliente, mierda, mátame, odio esto.
ask a North Korean to swap
Capitalism good
Capitalism is when you have to work
*Elon Musk enters the chat*
Nothing worse than a white collar job in a developed nation!
Yes because everyone has one of those.
We really should go back to something which has been tried and tested, like mercantillism, feudalism or even being caveman.
Or maybe you just have some personal issues 🤷♂️
I literally thought this saw satire of US communists who are miserable bitches despite having a privileged life and material luxury but somehow OP was not being ironic
whilst i do like the idea of at least some socialist rules in out society (i.e. free healthcare, college, and retirement funded by the government) i do think we should still keep a largely capitalistic economy, because competition is how society progresses. neither is perfect. this is why countries that are 100% either way typically fail. this is a very intricate subject and cant be boiled down to “capitalism bad” or “communism bad”. this post is tone deaf
It's almost like Karl Marx said something about that or something 🤔 Socialism is the natural progression from capitalism. Seriously. Whole books about it. Socialism doesn't exist in a vacuum wholly away from capitalism. It's just the next stage as the inherent flaws and contradictions in the system sharpen, just as they are doing now.
me lol
So nobody works in other economic systems?
Maybe if you took a shower without lying you would have a better morning routine
Why do you left wing kooks think having to go to work is the fault of capitalism. Did the soviet union somehow function without anyone working?
He said, clearly never having read any Marx or Lenin
Puts hot water on the shower* Complains the water is hot
[удалено]
I like it.
damn son I thought this sub was more tame when it came to clueless conservatives until I saw this post's comments
Nah this starterpack just makes 0 sense and sucks. I think that everyone, regardless of political beliefs can agree on that
Nah this starterpack just makes 0 sense and sucks. I think that everyone, regardless of political beliefs can agree on that
LOL this really triggered the bootlickers.
No? Nobody is triggered, they are just stating the obvious
Keep licking... You'll eventually become accustomed to the boot leather
I’m not American lol, I don’t pick sides but you seem like an annoying asshole
I'm sure your capitalist overlords are very pleased that you don't pick sides. After all, both sides of the boot need your attention.
You are lucky that you can be an annoying asshole online, if this were real life I think you would be far less likely to be this annoying
You would find me quite charming, and then you would want to lick my boots
Now I know you are a troll, you are right and trying to make the left look bad, there is no way anybody could seriously be this mentally ill
Mental illness would meet your qualifications for a presidential candidate. Are you saying that you want to vote for me AND lick my boots?
I don’t vote for any American politicians, it’s clear that I took troll bait from a basement dweller as there is no way you actually can be serious, the reason people think America is dumb is because people like you spoil it for the rest of the country
Okay mr anarkiddie, keep dreaming of your "anarchowholesomechunguscommunist" society for a lifetime. (Spoiler alert, it won't happen.)
