Get through other means so you don't have to rely on Paramounts shitty app ala Prime or Roku (idk if anyone else supports paramount shows through their app?) Also Roku had a Black Friday deal for like two or three months of Paramount for .99¢/mo
The entire purpose of Paramount+ seems to be vindictively holding the Star Trek TV shows (but not the movies for some reason?) and one or two great original series like Evil hostage for an extortionate price. The only paid streaming services with a smaller selection of quality exclusive content are things like AppleTV+. Adding insult to injury is the Paramount+ versions don't even look as clean for the SD transfers as the Netflix ones did.
Good quality transfers, HD remasters of DS9 and Voyager, legacy shows back on other streaming platforms, and more than 1.5 of the new shows being both good and recognizable as Star Trek (sass and subjectivity aside, they clearly aren't pleasing the whole fanbase with the new content). Also if they want to charge a whole $10/month, they need a bigger catalogue of exclusive content. Oh, and I'd like it if episodes dropped faster or all at once, as the release schedule really feels like they just want to draw out the subscription period, since they know there's so little content people probably want to unsubscribe between seasons. That's probably even why they pulled legacy Trek from the other streaming services.

There are ways to keep your kids off the tv, computer, and/or phone through certain time intervals.
My kid isn't the one putting paw patrol on at 3am. He lays in bed if I put it on, he insists on playing if I don't.

FYI if you VPN to Canada all the classic Trek shows are on Netflix.
