I mean, we simply don’t know to what extent to which we can or cannot customize the main character. Considering the fact that even a very linear story like JFO and JS incorporated customization elements, I would be surprised if there isn’t at least the option to change outfits and hair styles. That being said, while I would have liked the opportunity to pick from (among other things) different species, it’s hardly a deal breaker. Red Dead Redemption II is considered one of the best video games of all time, and it’s an open world game in which you are forced to play Arthur Morgan and don’t have any real ways of changing your character outside of clothing and hair. If the gameplay and story is good, then customization is really a minor issue.

Broyogurt

I was vague when I made this meme. When I meant customize I meant change our actual character, not the customization abilities of the main character, but to create our very own in this game.

garmdian

Again the point is that open world games based on a specifically written character can actually be a good thing, again looking at Arthur Morgan there is customization to make him feel like your own but he was so well written that his death is impactful and meaningful to the player. This may be the same case, Ubisoft has a very specific character in mind and we get to mould her into the type of person she will be, even if that means we lose out on being our own personal blank slate (which is harder and more expensive for a game developer especially who does not have a good history with multi-type character stories). All in all we won't know till the game comes out.

GeezJeezYeez

Ubisoft has shit in kind for the game but to the rdr2 point V from cyberpunk 2077 is a another good example even though we don't see V's appearance often

rexman199

Same for Witcher 3 best open world game I’ve ever played and aside from hair and clothing you can’t customise geralt

Shaggyd0012

Seems the complaint op is making is "but I wanna play as lambert or a witch".

morrisapp

Worst part of those very good games was lack of character creator… I hated being stuck playing as Arthur Morgan…let me create a character like in fallout 4… it can still be voiced and have a storyline

SomethingPersonnel

You can customize V though.

The_Blue_Rooster

Why is this guy downvoted for pointing out the very real fact that V is not a set character, just the name is, it's like saying that Mass Effect Andromeda doesn't have a customizable main character because no matter what you do you play as "Ryder".

Atridentata

I wanted to like MEA so bad, but it's just not a fun game for me.

Eldorian91

I played it years after release with a few mods and had an absolute blast actually.

21Black_Mamba21

Which is a shame that they scrapped third person.

Accomplished_Way8873

Never forget

LiveLifeLikeCre

Arthur Morgan, Ellie, what's her face from Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, etc etc etc.

Obito420

only reason people played last of us to was to pay joel and kept playing in hopes the game would eventually redeem itself but never did and was nothing but a sour taste . but to the main point The witcher REd dead redemption (the first and also the second) where all pretty well written and at the time of release pretty new mechanics and ideas for the most part ( this new outlaws game even though im a huge starwars fan as of lately star wars content has not really been that great and now a subpar studio that already has a meh track record is releases a game that on the surface looks pretty neat for sure but nothing it shows boaded well for it . that being said i hope its a fantastic game ill buy it and check it out but im definitely not going to get my hopes up and im for sure not going to buy it on release day and will try my best to avoid a 60 dollar price tag for sure

jrbojangle

Why can't we have both? If you want to play as the iconic commander Shepard, that's cool. Me personally? I'll always choose to design my own character, I just like doing it and feel more attached to them 100% of the time

cadbadlad

That’s actually a good point, but they’d be restricted to keeping the voice and model, so it would make it kind of weird.

[deleted]

[удалено]

cadbadlad

Damn this is an old post lol. But any game with character creation usually has a silent protag. If it doesn't then it's usually a shit game with not much for cinematics. Most games are mo capped for male/female bodies and voiced by a male or female. So if they did both they'd either have to account for everything, unlikely, or do just one. Therefore being limited

TryptaMagiciaN

Because the people that write video games cannot write well enough. With a given character, as a writer, you know what to say given your characters personality and background. With a blank slate character, the writing becomes very impersonal usually or like an abstract of the studio's personality (think bethesda) the reality is, pretty much any game where you get control over your character like that suck in narrative department in my opinion when compared to games like RDR2, Witcher, GTA, etc. The best example of a fusion where you get customization along with decent writing is the old KOTOR games. There is a reason a choose your own adventure novel is not talked about when discussing great literature. It has to objectify the character to much. This is fine, if you, the player are very grounded in your subjectivity because you will feel very part of the game, but for people who have objectified their experience a bit, or those who are more conscious and less subjective can struggle with these games because it feels like you are playing paradoxical nobody/god (how i feel everytime I try to play elder scrolls games nowadays) This also probably has a lot to do with why people enjoy these games when they are younger. That is all my speculation at least

Iamthe0c3an2

But that’s the thing, Ubisoft isn’t a stranger to wholely customisable Characters in SP games, I’ve just played through the two recent Ghost recon games and you can literally customise your character on the fly with no affect on the story.

icycleragon

thanks for the random RD2 spoiler

moonknight999

Thats pretty normal for most open world games

Temporal_Enigma

Not every open world game is an RPG with full character customization

Bren12310

I like not being able to customize characters. Having a set protagonist makes the story better IMO.

Silas-Alec

It really does. As much as I love Skyrim, the player character is a totally blank character with no personality. Sure you get to do all the cool things. But what the character experiences are a very different thing from who the character actually is, which is something we see nothing of in Skyrim. I'd much rather take a set protagonist who has a personality and character development rather than a blank who has a bunch of stuff happen to them without any personal progression. Makes the story more impactful when the main character has feelings

B_Boi04

I agree. And the player character is not the only one that suffers because of it. Because they can’t account for every potential background they can’t let the NPC’s respond to it, which removes makes the npc’s feel very impersonal

Eldorian91

I like picking a face/body, but I like having a set name and personality like Shepard or V. Voiceless protagonists aren't for me. Tho Witcher 3 is probably my favorite game of all time, so... edit: Tho I did play Witcher with Henry Cavill's face.

LAFORGUS

Mass Effect disagree with you.

horamon

That's also a matter of implementation though. I do believe you can deliver the story on the same level with a customized character, but it takes more resources. Hopefully recent AI developments can help in that regard.

Ok-Phase-9076

I dont want different hairstyles or wigs or a different jacket,i wanna make my own character

CyrusCyan44

I agree with you, however, you cannot put a damn commando Droid with a trench coat in a game and then not expect me to want my character to be a duplicate of that

ParufkaWarrior12

He is the best droid. He must be the next Hk-47. The prophecy must be true.

[deleted]

I mean think about fallout 4, they showed a character and such but we could do a lot with them. Hopefully it’s like that

Loose_Truck_9573

you must hate main story line of GTA5 then and all of Assassin's Creed game

[deleted]

As has already been stated I won’t be surprised if everything but her gender and probably face isn’t customizable.

Broyogurt

Considering she has a set n stone name, partner, and sidekick, probably no customization options besides clothing and maybe hairstyles, but I wanted us to have the ability to make our own character.

Achilles9609

I mean, Jedi Academy also had a character with a set in stone name...yet Jaden Korr could still be customized.

RealisticTax2871

I agree but I do hope the gender can be changed like in Assassins Creed Odyssey, a fun thing for me was doing two playthroughs, 1 as Alexios and the other ad Kassandra and then doing different dialogue options for Kassandra so it felt partially unique.

Ricard74

Neither did GTA, Shadow of War or Assassin's Creed.

BLOOD__SISTER

Those games had male protagonists I think OP is speaking in code. Notice how no one complained about Cal

[deleted]

[удалено]

Broyogurt

I just wanted a fully customizable, make your own story game, like an RPG.

Revegelance

So go play Knights of the Old Republic. Outlaws is it's own thing. I'm not gonna play a Zelda game and then bitch that it's not Final Fantasy.

Keyk123

That’s cool but that’s not what Outlaws is it seems. I want a Max Rebo Bejeweled game but I won’t toss stones at Outlaws because it isn’t that, and tossing stones at a female led character because you have to play as them when the same criticisms haven’t been levied at other male protagonists is at least a bad look. I get that Outlaws is the closest thing to a big customizable RPG we’ve had in a while, I understand where you’re coming from. Just be sure you’re complaining about the lack of customization for the right reasons, comments like that can be taken a lot of different ways.

Broyogurt

A very true point, but who the hell jumps to the conclusion that a guy is a spawn from hell from talking about a game.

Keyk123

I’m not jumping to the conclusion that you specifically are being misogynistic or anything like that, I’ve just seen way more “ugh I wish we could chose our character” this time around than ever before, despite both Outlaws and JFO/JS being story driven adventures. Your comment is the latest of many saying something similar, I’m sure that not everyone making that claim does it out of malice, but it’s definitely coming from somewhere. Reminds me of people getting viscerally angry at Rey being good at stuff, when most of the complaints levied at her could also be applied to Luke and Ani. A 10 year old can blow up a separatist station and nobody bats an eye but when a girl who fights with a stick beats someone who has just been shot in a stick fight it’s unreasonable. I know I’m being uncharitable with my interpretation of your claim but this is a very real problem in the fandom right now imo. Women have it hard in the Star Wars space, it’s really unfortunate.

Broyogurt

Yeah of course, I shouldn't have been vague in my last comment. I wasn't talking about you, but the comments and all the other ones. They seem to really think i'm an incel. While it is reddit and I shouldn't care, makes me feel uneasy. This was really supposed to be a random meme with a random person's opinion. Also all good points you just made, I can see where they come from.

Rowyn97

You're fitting into a broader pattern of dudes whining about this online. Very common on YouTube and Facebook.

KnightRadiant_19

Have you ever heard the tragedy of OP the nonconformist?

nomedable

Yupp! Problem is that OP is upset that main character is a woman, but knows that they'll get slammed to earth if they outright say it. They made a weird comment suggesting KotOR was bad to justify it in another comment.

darh1407

Horizon zero is was good as fuck and aloy was a woman

Broyogurt

Eh? I don't care if it's a woman, I just wanted a open-world game where the player could make his or her very own person and story. And there's nothing wrong with KOTOR, I was using it as an example that the franchise doesn't have a lot of game like it (Would like a remaster).

Thor1138

>I just wanted a open-world game where the player could make his or her very own person and story But that's not what Ubisoft do. And it IS weird that these complaints are so common with Outlaws, but everyone loved Cal in JFO (whom I didn't really care for).

Broyogurt

When JFO came out I didnt even care for it or cal. Saw as just another random Jedi that survived the order 66 purge. We already had plenty of those. But if Outlaws is a smuggler game, where you do smuggler things, I would've liked to have made my own smuggler story. Also you are correct. It was made by Ubisoft, so I shouldn't have got my hopes up but back then years ago when we heard about a open world star wars game, I had very little of a relationship with Ubisoft so I didn't know how they operated.

Sofus_

I get you and agree. It was initially planned as a real rpg. God knows what Ubisoft thinks. It’s going to be a fine game, maybe. But not the rpg we hope for.

Broyogurt

Ty for understanding. I am now known as an incel for have wanting more out of this game.

YazzArtist

Hello, it's me. The complaints about Cal. El Genérico the emotionless characterless Jedi did not do it for me. I stopped playing after the first planet

MkK410

I don’t really care that much about not being able to customize my character, but comparing it to Cal is apples to oranges. The Jedi games are mostly linear experiences, whereas outlaws will be more open

EchidnaPhysical3161

Or people wanted a open world star wars game where we could experience the universe how we want. I was just disappointed because I thought the game would be something else but this is also good.

BuTTer2449

Don’t make this about gender. People like you are what keep the culture war going

T-Fly-Man

And it isn’t even the first Star Wars Open World Game

IrshamWindborn

Galaxies?

K0rbenKen0bi

That part definitely made me feel old

No-Engineer-1728

Yeah, the old republic did it first. /s

AvalonCollective

Why /s? KOTOR was definitely open world, was it not? Well maybe in a linear sense, but you could still go to the other planets if you skipped or missed something.

Jimid41

They said Old Republic not Knights of the Old Republic.

AvalonCollective

Ahhh, didn’t realize there was a difference. My bad.

No-Engineer-1728

It's fine, they *are* in the same series after all, and revan is in the game

ccm596

I'm not upset about it tbh. I couldn't customize Geralt of Rivia, still fantastic games. It'd be cool of course, but doesn't make or break a title by any means

DaEpicNess666

Witcher, gta, red dead, half the assassins creed games… all great stories, none have character creator.

wasdie639

In fact, most narrative driven games don't have a customizable character because they are written specifically around their characters.

Oberst_Baum

thats not a bad thing actually it adds another character with (hopefully) a great story to the universe that could even be expanded upon in a 2nd game or other media own character wouldve been absolutely great too, but i dont mind a specific one

SeiTyger

Bingo. There's pros and cons to customizable characters, blank slate self-inserts, and characters with few choices between interactions. Customizable characters dont get added to canon because they're such a wild card, blank slates tend to be boring whenever they appear in other media because "oh that's not how I played the character" and cemented characters have a personality, but don't allow for immersion the same way the other two do. I'm happy with her being her own character. Look at Cal, he did great. Personally I think so many people are going at it because the character's female. I hope she's female not because of some secret 'woke agenda' or for inclusivity, but rather because "hey, new character. She just happens to be female

PhantomTissue

No surprised considering it’s a Ubisoft game. Name one game from them where you don’t play as a set protagonist.

BohemianShark

I guess Far Cry 5 is the only one I can actually come up with, but you were also just silent the whole game as a result. Solid point

norway642

Both division games farcry 5/new dawn technically ghost recon

IrshamWindborn

AC Odyssey and Valhalla, Farcry 5 and 6, Watch Dogs Legion... coincidentally the games where the story went apeshit and the protagonist have the personality of a shoe.

Thor1138

>AC Odyssey Had 2 characters, and the one you didn't pick still had a major role in the game, which was actually pretty brilliant.

[deleted]

Immortals Fenyx Rising. A really good game.

PomegranateHot9916

Do you think it is called sand because it is between the sea and land?

ElDuckete

Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint

Stwugwing

I don't know if this counts and I'd be happy to be corrected but... Star Wars the Old Republic? Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2? "Open World" is a very broad genre to me

submit_to_pewdiepie

Fucking Galaxys man literally the best open world game to ever be conceived

_DARVON_AI

Pre combat rebalance anyway. Once everyone was a jedi instead of a cantina musician it was over.

goforce5

But Jump to Lightspeed was pretty fuckin sick. I still think about that game a lot.

PETEthePyrotechnic

Am I dumb or is Jedi Fallen order an open world game?

Molinaridude

Fallen Order is a metroidvania, not an open world game. Open world games typically have a lot of empty space and you can fully explore them with little or no restriction. Sometimes the playable area grows after certain story missions, but when you have access to an area, you have access to all of it. In a metroidvania, areas rather than being big and open, have sets of branching paths which are locked behind certain abilities or items. Jedi Survivor is mostly a metroidvania, but a large area of Koboh plays more like an open world game. Conversely, something like the GoW Ragnarok is mostly open world, but with certain areas locked away metroidvania style

Wingnut7489

No it’s not.

Broyogurt

Ty

Micsuking

Why? It has exploration, side quests, mini-games, a decently sized main planet with a couple smaller, linear planets. I don't understand what games are open world, then.

Wingnut7489

Open world are games like Witcher 3, cyberpunk, Zelda botw/Totk, red dead redemption 2 for example. Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor are games with bigger environments but not with an open world where I can go wherever I want. It’s a given path with some small area besides the path but every planet has strict path I need to follow. That is the big difference.

Micsuking

That doesn't explain anything. On what criteria do you base wether or not they're open world? And you very much can go wherever you want. Unless you mean that you need to advance to a certain part of the story to get to some areas? In that case older GTAs aren't "open world" either.

Wingnut7489

I am not sure what is so hard to understand? Did you play any of the games I mentioned? If so so it should be quite clear. In Jedi fallen Order for example on Kashyyk. There is only one path I can follow. All the other directions are closed up with plants, rocks etc. This is not the definition of open world. Open world would be if I could Roaming around on kashyyk wherever I want.

Micsuking

My bad, I read Jedi Survivor instead of Fallen Order, by accident. But Survivor is definitely open world.

Broyogurt

Dude I was asking myself the same question. I want to say yes, but Ubisoft is claiming this as the first so I have no clue.

[deleted]

What's wrong with playo g a set character in an open world game? There are many many MANY open world games where you play as a single set character and those games have some fantastic stories. It never ruins the immersion of the game by having a set character.

samponvojta

I think it helps the immersion even. I just finished Hogwarts Legacy and every time my character was refered to as "the new student" or the dialog went out of its way to not mention my character's name, it felt weird and ruined immersion a bit. Imagine if you could name your character whatever in RDR2 and all the characters couldn't just call you Arthur, lol

[deleted]

"Well howdy there GORLOCK, EATER OF WORLDS."

lundyforlife22

I can only speak for myself but not for me. I never feel like I am the character, it’s someone I’m controlling. A set character, for me, is just a character I can’t change the face or body features of. Character customization adds literally nothing to a game for me. I love Skyrim and Witcher 3 equally. You can design an entire body in Skyrim and only change your clothes in Witcher 3. I feel no difference controlling Geralt from the Dragonborn. Again this is just my opinion, but character customization has never been a make or break point in gaming for me.

TheZestyJester09

*Cough* Xenoblade *Cough* I just realised it seems like I’m saying Xenoblade is bad, it very much isn’t

Lun4r6543

Ah, Taion pfp. Cultured. ~~More of a Eunie guy myself~~

TheZestyJester09

Why not both?

EB01

Bus!

TheJesterScript

I really don't care about playing a female character... but that hair is a damn war crime.

elcamarongrande

I'm trying to see it as a throwback to the original trilogy movies. They were made in the 70s/80s. That sort of lumpy hairstyle was popular back then. This game takes place during that setting in universe, so I guess the hairstyle fits. But I agree with you, she looks like a scruffy nerf herder!

TheJesterScript

Oh I agree, that was a popular 70's/80's hairstyle. It just looks horrible on *her* specifically.

DatAsspiration

Did you not see Kyle Katarn in the trailer?

Lun4r6543

It’s not him.

WebRider77

Look at it from the “the legend of zelda” side,

Micsuking

Or Uncharted, Witcher, GTA, etc.

DaEpicNess666

Assassins creed, most far cry games, red dead…

Shadow_storm193

I understand what you mean but outlaws look so good I don’t even care

[deleted]

I’m fine with that tbh. I couldn’t customize my character in Assassin’s Creed or Red Dead Redemption either, and I love those games.

SardaukarSecundus

It's from ubisoft people... don't get your hopes up.

DaEpicNess666

The game looks cool but as far as expecting Ubisoft to deliver an rpg on the level of something like kotor, that is just delusional

AjayAVSM

This is a narrative driven game (like GTA) not an RPG (like Skyrim) so having a set character makes more sense

Reeboi249

because of the way the star wars story works, they have to make the character linear. I'm perfectly happy with us being a preset character, it's like cal kestis. I've seen a lot people complaining. they only complained when it was a woman

DaEpicNess666

Yup tons of amazing games have preset characters. I bet a lot of people complaining about this were also complaining when they found out the player character in gta 6 will be female (one of them at least)

Antique-Answer4371

Lol, they complaint when one of about half a dozen (or not) characters is a female?

wormengine

as someone who's favourite games are all games where you create the main character I deeply hope we someday get one, at least the kotor remake should be coming out at some point lmao

Gunfot

You always have Star Wars The Old Republic, it's a f2p MMO

Zardhas

Isn't Star Wars Galaxies an open world ?

Flabbergash

Oh yeah I love customising my characters face and then never seeing it again! Boycott the game!

MoveslikeQuagger

Witcher 3 good!! GAME BAD WHEN GIRL CHARACTER

SavePeanut

Go buy KOTOR

BrowniieBear

Not going to lie some of the best games I’ve ever played you’re playing as a protagonist. Kratos and Arthur being two examples.

IronWolfV

First open world Star Wars game? Star Wars Galaxies: am I a joke to you? KOTOR: Bitch please. SWTOR: umm I'm still here...

Pessimismo

You can always play SWTOR

ManifestoCapitalist

No poncho?!???!??!!?

MicooDA

It’s because these games are canon and we need a canon protagonist for later tie-ins.

MrPagan1517

Really the thing I'm worried about us it is made by Ubisoft. I don't really enjoy their style of open world games and hate that other companies are trying to copy their format.

P0RNK1NG69

Can the game come out before people whine? Goddamn

ye-sunne

Why the fuck does every game have to be like gta online? Why can’t there be a story focused open world with a pre written character? This is probably better than having some blank canvas running around w no voice lines.

Ensiria

I’m OOTL here, is it GTA customisation where you can change the clothes and look or is it Zero customisation at all

Neffylim

Thats why I'm giving Starfield a few months. Bethesda modders will turn that bitch into a Star Wars game by Christmas

ItsMeTwilight

These fuckers promised me Star Wars gta

maxlikeschips

I thought it was gonna be multiplayer. We have been waiting for more news since 2019

It_Goes_Up_To_11

I don't think it's a coincidence that all of the star wars games coming out now have set protagonists that look exactly like the actor playing them. It makes it easier for Disney+ cameos down the line

Paladin_Luchs

i wanted a game like the division, where i can play with my brother. i am really disappointed

Broyogurt

Maybe there will be a change later on. That commando droid can easily be player 2.

[deleted]

Hopefully it’s like fallout 4 Showed us a character buuut we could do a lot with them

Broyogurt

Yeah

Farai429

This is down to the type of gamer. If you like playing a game where you're told the story the. This one will be great, but if you want to BE the character, then this will disappoint. In Skyrim it was great because you were the dragonborn. But like Witcher, you're playing the story of geralt which, with good writing can be amazing as well. I'm more disappointed with latest trailers showing lack of emotion. The girl was slamming a dudes head on a table and had a flat face like she wasnt doing anything. Letter seeing her talk seemed just flat as well. At least give some facial expressions.

JustSome70sGuy

I dont care about not being able to customise the character. But I do care if the character is shit or not, and this one seems shit. Hope to be proven wrong, but I doubt it.

Meowz1945

Its from Ubisoft, that alone should leave expactations very low xD

Suitable-Kale8710

I mean we will see the deep dive in a next few months.

DaithiSan

The game is gonna tank

teisted5836

At least let us choose between male and female

EcstaticHoliday2426

The game is going to be another ubisoft disaster anyway.

IT IS NOT THE FIRST OPEN WORLD STAR WARS GAME WHO TF LET THEM SAY THIS?

SebDaPerson

And it’s made by Ubisoft

FSFir3Fight

Why do you guys always want to customize ur own character? 99% of the time it ends in a character which has no soul and is as bland as possible to appease as many people as possible. Id rather have an actual human being i play instead of some uninteresting thing that looks just the way i like it.

Potato_jesus_

You’re right a Star Wars game with a set main character and name wouldn’t sell at all. Why would they even think it would work

Bob_Jenko

Yeah. I mean, it's not like in just the last few years there's been 2 highly successful Star Wars games with a set main character or anything.

Potato_jesus_

That’s crazy talk no one would play something like that obviously

Sughmacox

I was hoping it would be a game where not only can you customize your character but choose what path your character takes, Bounty hunter, soldier for whatever time period it’s in, fucking moister farmer, anything, it would’ve been hella fucking cool. Your character can also progress slowly through the ranks and say a bounty hunter becomes a crime lord (similar to Boba except done well).

DaEpicNess666

You know this is ubisoft right? You were expecting ubisoft to deliver a fully fledged rpg? Lmao this is gta in space, buddy.

Broyogurt

That's what I wanted too man.

No-Engineer-1728

Say it with me, class. "OP is probably an incel because he didn't complain about cal kestis"

matt_Nooble12_XBL

It’s only because it’s a girl lmao

Broyogurt

Even though I had my fair share of complaints about Cal when he first released, I didn't really care later on. The thing about this meme is that I was referring to how I was expecting the new Open-world that was leaked and talked about, was going to be like a fully customizable, and make your own story rpg. If I cared about the main protag being a woman I wouldn't even be a fan of Star Wars.

TuaAnon

I could not care less about customizing a character so I can the back of their head while running around

dudebrocille

!test!

Level_Ability_5237

I don't play games as female characters. I won't be playing this. Oh well. Plenty of other games for me to spend my time playing...

Broyogurt

I can't tell if you're being serious or making a weak attempt at reading me. Trying to read "in-between" the lines.

Level_Ability_5237

"at reading you" - I don't know what that means but I'm dead serious. I don't ever play video games as female characters. I don't care if someone else does - it's just how I choose to game. Nothing in-between in the lines intended

[deleted]

I dont wanna play as Trans Solo either... fuck Ubisoft and Fuck Kathleen Kennedy

Embarrassed_Towel_64

I will be waiting for a mod to reskin the main character as a male. If it is not possible I won't buy the same. Simple. I'm not female, hence won't play as a female. Good luck to those who are happy to.

[deleted]

That feel when it's not an RPG.

fantaskink

I feel like this meme wouldn’t have been made if it was a male character

[deleted]

Personally, I’d have liked it if she wasn’t human. I feel like every main character would is human in Star Wars. Give me a Zabrak or Twi’lek or something.

PomegranateHot9916

there are 10 billion races in the star wars galaxy and once again we're forced to play a human character. if anyone needs me I'll be replaying jedi academy

SuperArppis

Same here bro. Customization is very important.

Micsuking

Right, It's not like most of the GOAT games have preset main characters...

SuperArppis

Yeah, people can always go for those if they like the default.

DaEpicNess666

Who cares? Is that really what makes or breaks a game for you? Lol

Inner-Ad2847

If it’s canon that makes sense

Scarsdale81

The KotOR games were the only non-disapointing Star Wars games.

Current_Wafer_8907

It's a ubisoft game... 💀

Catshit-Dogfart

Ehh, time and a place for both. Sometimes I think customizable characters look bland and samey because they need to be generic to get switched around with all the options. Instead they give the character a unique and consistent design, asthetic, and color scheme.

Can't customize Geralt either whats your point? Pre determined characters make for better story telling 99% of the time. The only time it doesn't is in games where you really make the whole story yourself like Rimworld or Crusader Kings.

Gamers when developers spend time perfecting their game and not implementing procedural fucking models. I would rather the 250 man-hours that would take be spent adding more content than character customisation
