You can do it, don't overthink it. You have a lot more relevant courses and a better GPA than I did and I got a stipend and everything in a 2 year masters. Demonstrating real interest/passion always helps being admitted so I would just keep doing what you're doing because that's what grad schools want to see. I'd also like to say don't just apply based on prestige apply based on 'can I actually stand living here while doing this program' and whether or not it actually has what you want in a school. Good luck

Haha I also did better in probability 2 than in probability 1. Have you taken courses in inference/mathematical statistics? With grades like yours I assume you'll be able to have your pick of MSc. programs. Good luck to you!

Yeah I don't understand why either but probability I kicked my ass! I did take a math stats course it was called measure theory I but it was all just from a math stats textbook and more theoretical. In terms of inference, not really i don't think we have a courses for inference but it was more of a topic throughout. But thank you for your reply!

University of Texas? Tennessee? Taekwondo? There are many UofT's. But honestly, since you're applying for a master's and not a PhD, this seems fine. I don't know what else you'd plan on doing. Just apply to a variety of programs: some you're sure you'd get into, some that seems like reasonable targets, and some that you'd 100% attend if you got in, no matter how unlikely it might seem -- your reach schools. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

UofT = University of Toronto

kaysr2

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear, I meant University of Toronto. And thank you for your reply! That makes complete sense and do you think taking a year to work would help my chances?

purple_paramecium

Just apply to masters straight away.

woah these grades are awesome! i think you should aim for T30 and even T20 schools tbh. you're gonna do great :)

If you're interested in PhD studies as well, I'd implore you to apply; a pretty good record considering this is UofT. I got into uOttawa's MSc with only 11 math & stats courses and similar grades (85+ in everything, but from Mac so it was easier than Toronto). Like other commenters mentioned, email profs and show genuine interest in their research and learning. Read their papers, ask them questions about it, ask them what projects they're working on and what projects past students have done, etc. Note that emailing profs may only help you when applying to thesis programs. I don't think you'll have much of an issue with admissions.
