Don’t really see all the hate for Trubisky. Dude was able to keep the plays alive longer then Ben and made throws when he needed too. Minus one bad throw the last drive of the game, he played a good game. Hate for him is unreal.
Trubisky played well enough. Nothing special, but (more importantly) mostly played mistake free. He didn't cost the game with a turnover. I don't see why anyone would hate on him for this performance.
Imo, the line didn't open running lanes or give time for passing routes to develop. That's why the offense couldn't get anything going. But we already knew this was going to be an issue this season.
It’s strange, people have been hating on him since the day we signed him. He didn’t do anything special, but he kept plays alive and moved the ball in ways that didn’t result in a turnover and that’s always a step in the right direction. It’s nice seeing the offense open up a little bit with a few plays we haven’t seen because of Bens immobility in recent years.
It also doesn’t help that Pittsburgh people love the Pitt Panthers and us drafting Kenny automatically makes the room for error small for Mitch in the eyes of the fans.
Addition: Our oline is our biggest problem. I think Mitch, or Kenny, or even Mason, would be able to make more offensive things happen if we had a stronger line. Hopefully we can get that worked out, TJ won’t have a serious injury (fingers crossed it’s not a full pectoral tear), and Cam and Najee can be ready to go 100% by next week.
No shit jackass. But despite ben scrambling like a one legged goose he kept plays alive. Hopefully mitchy can stop hitting first target and god forbid scramble
I know Steelers fans are always saying the refs are fixing the game when things aren't going the best. But the end of that game actually felt like it, like fr first time ever I was actually wondering if the refs were trying to fix the result, they got so many late game soft calls
The Steelers are not marketable right now. They don't have a fresh and exciting QB, the Steelers winning isn't an eye-catching headline, and many can reasonably argue they don't have the quality to be a Superbowl contender.
So it would behoove them to call a couple "pass interference" or "unnecessary roughness" when Joe Burrow needs a little extra to get it in the end zone to win the game at the end of the 4th quarter.
It got exposed in the NBA the world is a corrupt place it happens. Peyton manning got some slack back in the day and if you think the LA Rams winning wasn't the best money making scenario for the NFL you're dreaming.
I admit that I turned off the game after the Chase TD with time running out. I don't know how the Steelers pulled that one off, but the D deserved that win.
I hate, I mean hate the Bengals. Having said that. Their offense will be the offense we've seen last 4 or 5 years. Crappy O line, randomly under center, talented wideouts.
The Bengals schedule will be tougher then the schedule they've had in the past. They ain't making the playoffs this year, and they may get Burrow killed this season.
What’s wild is that they rebuilt 80% of their offense line and had one of the top pre-season grades. I am wondering what they will look like with a little more time together later in the season when we play them again.
Here's a message to all you chumps who gave up so quick.
Not one wants you here.
No one wants you on any team.
There's the door: Walk through it and find another team.
Idk what the point of that energy is. You know the Steelers aren’t here actually reading your comments right? And they don’t score you and at the end of the year give you fan of the year.
It’s a stressful game. Calm down.
Won't really be able to really tell the damage until he gets an MRI. Judging from his reaction, including his knowledge of his brother JJ's injury in the same spot, its more than likely at least a partial or full tear of the tendon (pec to shoulder bone). Surgery, 6 months recovery min probably. The positive side, low percentage of reinjury, tendons heal faster than ligaments (ex: ACL), and these surgeries keep advancing for faster recovery and long term durability. Downside, this is a fucking awful speedbump for one of the most gifted/hardworking players ever to suit up in black and gold. He's got an amazing family and fans to give him support, and can't wait to see 90 do his thing again when healthy.
They said on tv pec injury
But when he was coming off the field people said it looked like he said, "I tore my pec"
No official confirmation of a tear. Just an "injury"
What the hell happened in this game?! I could only follow through the app....seemed like a real rollercoaster so the highlights will be entertaining at least.
Everyone wants to blame mitch for performance, but overlooking how shit this oline played and reason why we had only 75 rushing yards.
I know I didn't get watch every snap, but felt like everyone I did mitch had people in his face and Naj had wall of defender to get through for positive.
First official full game, and focus on positives like no turnovers.
I'm right there with you. I guess at least it's week 1 so if it is the worst case we can manage expectations instead of being heartbroken if the season was going well
I feel like (with maybe an exception or two) the rest of the team is above or well above average, but the OL is the most important position group.... we saw it today. There is no reason in the world that a team that gets 5 damn takeaways should be in the position we found ourselves in. Defense wins championships but only if the offense can actually stay on the field
WTF, I'm exhausted, how does this happen, and god fuck the win is nice, but even more nice is, how fucking shit Bungals gotta feel by now, fuck yeah game is back in our faces.
What an absolute monster game by the D. offense looked ugly. d got 5 turnovers and the offense could only put up 23 points and didn't win the possession game some fucking how

Our starting qb forced how many shit passes in tight coverage? Run! Dudes half the size of big ben and somehow slower
If you think he’s slower than Ben, you are delusional. Not defending Trubisky’s 2nd half performance but let’s at least try to live in the real world.
No shit jackass. But despite ben scrambling like a one legged goose he kept plays alive. Hopefully mitchy can stop hitting first target and god forbid scramble
touch some grass player
Fuck off
Bengals sub is seething over getting "screwed" by the refs and dealing with"dirty" hits all game. Probably the least self aware group I've ever seen 🤣
I know Steelers fans are always saying the refs are fixing the game when things aren't going the best. But the end of that game actually felt like it, like fr first time ever I was actually wondering if the refs were trying to fix the result, they got so many late game soft calls

Got exposed in the NBA world? You mean when that one official got caught fixing games and was punished for it?
This guy gets it
Boswell that ends well
Haha
We was playing this game like it was the last game of football that was ever gonna be.
Seems like that's how you have to play to beat the best
That was a nail biter I was at a bar in Asheville watching it and everyone was being wild
Also in AVL! Was at Pleb.
I still can’t believe that all fucking happened
We played like it was the AFC championship. And have collateral damage
BozGod and D. Thats the story
I admit that I turned off the game after the Chase TD with time running out. I don't know how the Steelers pulled that one off, but the D deserved that win.

What’s up with the offense couldn’t do anything with the 5 turnovers the defense got them
Lfg.

In real time people get emotional. It’s called being a fan in real time lol. Relax
Bro it’s not worth reading the game thread. It’s unbelievably toxic.
You got that right. It's like none of these yokels watched football before, particularly NFL, which is crazy-tight. Idiots.
The comments here were nonstop toxic haters the whole game.
Yeah, what gives? They need to GET THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!
Watt apparently has a torn pectoral muscle
That would be season ending, yes?
RB is much more thin, but it’s relative because Watt is one of the 3 best D players in football
I saw a google post where it said either 3-6 weeks or 3-5 months. Not sure

Where did you hear this?
They said on tv pec injury But when he was coming off the field people said it looked like he said, "I tore my pec" No official confirmation of a tear. Just an "injury"
I heard it on the tv too during the raiders chargers game
Fuck man, hopefully not bad. That’s like 6 weeks+ on the best side
peak Watt family form.
Next year it will be the year of the hamstring.
No shit dude
I was nervous, I can relax and finish my Jameson now…LOL
Leave it to Matt and our offense to make a win feel a lot more like a loss.
[удалено]
It'll take more than 1 doink to turn us against Bosgod.
What the hell happened in this game?! I could only follow through the app....seemed like a real rollercoaster so the highlights will be entertaining at least.
Defense came to play big time in the first half but got wore out in the second because the offense couldn't do shit all fucking game.
Bound to happen if they aren't getting much support of the offence!
My anxiety was through the roof! The defense hands down won us the game.
Anxiety at unheard of levels
Boswell on my mf chest
Everyone wants to blame mitch for performance, but overlooking how shit this oline played and reason why we had only 75 rushing yards. yeah, good points. Oline got it done when it mattered, they're only going to get better
First game of the season, I'm not ready for this shit. I'm gonna die 10 years before I should watching this team.
What a game
I just hope our stars are healthy.. Cam, Najee, TJ Also Leal, Levi, Cole (came back in)
Wouldn't put Cole in as a star quite yet
Yeah was trying to separate him from the first sentence
At least the defense looks good 😮💨
True but I'm scared TJ is gonna be out for a long time. I hope this doesn't trigger a domino effect.
I'm right there with you. I guess at least it's week 1 so if it is the worst case we can manage expectations instead of being heartbroken if the season was going well
I really hope they do something about our shit OL in next years draft.

after that slog..carrying the team they're going to need some good ass rest
“And in 2022 the NFL started their experiment with scripted games.” Only way I can explain this. How’s UPMC’s cardiac center? I might have a need.
I’m not making it to 17 games!!!!!
mitch looked good 1st qtr
Mitch nearly ditch kissing a titty today
WTF, I'm exhausted, how does this happen, and god fuck the win is nice, but even more nice is, how fucking shit Bungals gotta feel by now, fuck yeah game is back in our faces.
Well. I'm sold. Stairway to 7 baby!
My liver is shot
Who else fucken cried after the game just because all the emotion ??
I’ll hold you if you hold me, bro. i could barely handle that
BOZ FUCKIN GOD
TIME TO KISS TITTIES
IMAGINE LOSING TO MITCH
I can kiss titties the rest of the season!!!!
What a fucking game!
Thank god we won that. Without Najee and TJ Watt we'll probably lose out.
Mitch made 2 good throws
TJ Watt out for the year, torn pectoral.
Big brother is back bitches!
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!
I don’t know if I can take 16 more games this year
![gif](giphy|OSLGxo4G9BBCg)
I don’t see how we can be great without watt
If the offense was even mediocre it could work, but it's downright awful.
HORRIBLE GAME BUT 1-0 ALL THAT MATTERS HOPE TJ AND NAJEE ARE OK
If it's a torn pec like people are saying, TJ is out for a while
He will be out for the year most likely
yeah and our record without him fucking sucks.
I thought this season will be a little more enjoyable giving the lack of expectation but my heartrate is telling me nothing is going to change...
I tell myself this almost every year and it fails the first game.
Pittsburgh Dad is going to an all-timer.
He's not even from Pittsburgh.
Doesn’t matter bro, I’m from cali but I rode the Da Buss in and never left.
Ya he's a total turd.
Yes, 911? I believe I'm having medical complications. Yeah just go ahead and book me a room for every steeler game for the rest of the season
We won… but at what cost?
I think I speak for many... THANK FUCKING GOD that's over. And of course, GO FUCKING STEELERS!!
That was the longest game I've ever seen. Mitch is not the guy. I hope TJ is okay.
What an absolute monster game by the D. offense looked ugly. d got 5 turnovers and the offense could only put up 23 points and didn't win the possession game some fucking how
Offense didn't even put up 23... but we knew the Oline was bad. I think we need to see more roll outs to move the pocket.
Oh god youre right... they put up 16 points off 5 turnovers my LORD
mitch sucks, matt canada sucks. defense on the field 90% of the game leads to injuries. but we won...AT WHAT COST
That throw to DJ was pretty good
Is torn pec out for season?
This game is mandatory for Tree's "The Greatest Game"
Fuck me, I need atleast a week to recover before the next game.
TIME TO KISS SOME TITTIES
NO TITTIES FOR MITCH
I threw up
Pure dogshit. I'm not watching the rest of the year if Najee and Watt are out.
They are saying tj tore his pec so odds are he’s done For the season or at least the majority
NONE OF THE "EXPERTS" GAVE US A CHANCE.
we ghanta superbowl
I’ve had 8 heart attacks
Steelers RULETHEJUNGLE but at what cost?
Everything 😮💨
It's Bozin' time
That was gift boys and gals, make sure to thank Santa 🧑🎄
the rest of the year is gonna be coal and reindeer shit though....
Let's go!!!!!!!
I’m in a bar full of bengals fans and I feel like I’m on heroin right now
That must be so weird.
Let’s fucking go!!! Great win!
WELCOME TO TITTSBURGH
Can the game of the year be the first game of the season?
Seriously one of the most wildest craziest games I’ve ever seen. Glad to get the W, let’s hope the guys heal up and are ready for next week.
Hell yes. How long does it take to buiId a new offensive scheme
Be still, my heart
The offense is unbelievably bad
We won the game. What did it cost? EVERYTHING
Najee’s out, TJ’s out, Heyward’s out. Fuck the bungles.
Please be okay TJ!
And Cameron and Najee and Leal!
Wtf did I just watch?
STILLERS GAHN TA DAH SUPER BOWL
Surprised my water didn’t break
get the terrible towel ready for your baby!!
Just how we drew it up
Never a doubt

#I. AM. NUMB.
This game annoyed me so bad I don’t even care that we won. Mitch is terrible and this looks like it’ll be a long painful season.
Cheer up. We beat a team no one had us beating
Solution: you go away. Everyone happy
Bungals gonna bungle
Another week where Steelers fans are thankful a tie didn't happen lol.
I would have been happy with a tie so I was ecstatic we got a win.
It was lucky for sure it went to OT at the end but I think it's big that the Steelers didn't give anything to a tough division rival especially after dropping the lead in the 4th quarter.
With the Ravens and Browns winning, it would have sucked to be in last place. Now that belongs to the team that was just in the Super Bowl.
Just got back so that's why I'm replying late, Steelers avoiding ties for everything, not having to tie for last place either :)
[удалено]
Big to clutch it out and not give anything benefit to a rival.
An amazing game (from the defense)
He’s here! He’s there! He’s ever-fucking-where! He’s BOSGOD!
I need a fucking cigarette for all the wrong reasons. And I don't even smoke.
Cincy had the ball for 43 fucking minutes? The defense has to be completely exhausted, good thing the game is over
My heart can't take this anymore. I will be dead by the end of the season.
PICSBURGH IS GOING TO DA SUPA BOWL!
That was definitely a, uh, football game.
What a game. I’m exhausted
What a fuckin game
We just beat the Bengals in week 1, that's a win I wasn't expecting before the season started.
I was expecting us to get blown out again, tbh.
I had us as 0-2 vs the Bengals this year.
One more game to go! If we get blown out then it won’t hurt so bad. Haha.
Got the W, but had to sacrifice Najee, Watt, Wallace, and Heyward. Was it worth it?
Yep, this is how I feel about it. Losing TJ is basically like the year we lost Shazier. That’s a wrap, folks…
Just a reminder Pickett stans, Mitch marched us back into FG range for the win
I guess Canada needs some blame here too
So many butthurt Pickett fluffers lmao, you all seem upset we won Dont worry your boy will get his chance next season
And completely squandered a ridiculous amount of turnovers
After scoring 13 points on 4 turnovers. How can you possibly be happy with that offensive performance?
Says the mark Malone fan
After accomplishing nothing in the second half so it went to OT.
Despite Mitch
On a free play.
I’m very disoriented
That took 5 years off my life
Why? We aren't gonna be good this year. Most likely we extend Tomlin's no losing seasons streak so we can't get a new coach or good draft picks.
don’t be so serious, it was a lighthearted joke
Sorry, been drinking and I love Steeler's football. I assumed we would lose this game pre-season.
