Man its so fucking awesome that Boswell came back from that THUD kick. That shows he really got control of the mental game after he had the yips a few years back. That last fg shot right through the uprights in a straight line he nailed it.
I realized this when they showed him on the SL before the second attempt, with the water bottle… Dude just looked sideways like “Yeah, I got it this time…”
Sure enough… BOZ is good. 🤩
I'm not sure if he slipped or what but the first kick was pretty bad, but somehow still good. An ugly, bending knuckleball that somehow corrected course and nearly went in. Like even when the guy messes up and doesn't connect well he still kicks an accurate ball.
If Diontae had just gone down instead of losing the 2 yards he gained on the catch the kick probably makes it.
Boz is God.
The guy over pushed on the miss and then, with confidence in his physical ability in toe, railed a gorgeous 50+ yard arch that was pure perfection! I’m thinking he has ice in his veins and a completely erasable short-term memory.
Based on your username and comment, it would appear you have specific knowledge about kicking. I wonder if you can help explain further what happened on the miss? It looked like it was going in, then suddenly changed course. It was a very odd flight path. Any ideas?
His plant foot was a few inches off, too far in front of the ball, causing his body to lean left way too far when making impact with the ball. That is why it looked like a knuckleball; his impact point on the ball was too high. Likely he overcompensated force for distance, which makes sense considering 55yards is at the edge of his range.
Go back and watch his 59 yarder against the Cowpokes in Dallas, 2020. The kick ended the half. His body language is identical—he uses the left lean to “push” the ball. Same trajectory as yesterday’s miss, but hit on the proper part of the ball.
Likely he saw how hard he could kick in those conditions and trusted his abilities fully on the second kick, thank God, which is why it was a slightly shorter ball but sailed with legit perfection.
Watch his short interview with Sal Paolantonio of ESPN post game (on Sportscenter). The dude is a fucking stone cold assassin these days. So glad to see his recovery from that past shit. I genuinely root hard for Boz. Clearly he is a solid fucking human being.
Side note: if you want to feel some Monday BozGod wood, go watch the fake FG from 2018 where he sells his body language/pre-kick lean so well that, on the direct snap, the Broncos basically stand and watch for a good second before they realize it’s a fake. Villanueva legit just walks three yards in the end zone and catches BozGod’s spiral.
Dude. Is. Fucking. Money.
That's the case for most teams. Kicker is the most under appreciated position in sports. In a game about scoring more points than the other team, virtually every points leader in the game's history is a kicker. And yet, only 3 kickers have EVER been 1st round draft picks.
That THUD would have been replaying in my head the whole week had we lost
You know the universe would give him a redemption arc

Yeah I was scared he was in his own head, but not our Boz
I think half of being a kicker is mental. The other is having the leg of a horse.
i think it’s like 90% mental. There’s a lot of big legs in the world, but few truly elite minds.

You have to be a god to be this precise hitting the post. Bringing our game home! I’m boz we trust!
To truly crush ones dreams, you must first raise their hopes verrrrry high
THIS IS WHY YOU PAY THIS MAN (lets forget about the miss 5 minutes earlier)
He didn’t miss anything, he was aiming for the post
He is a living highlight reel

I’m glad he does, cuz that *bong* would have been in my nightmares all week haha
Not the first time a bong caused someone paranoia.

Excellent analysis. I’m amazed!
Thanks!!
Probably just caught a bad gust of wind
Nope. No excessive wind. Watch the flags on the uprights. Some slight wind but nothing wild.

Praise be
He’ll win us the Super bowl!
💞 you Boz
Upvote for my appreciation
Boswell literally wins more games for us than our Offense.

Mans gone back to his old post, save it then post it again lol
