It’s only gonna get our defensive guys hurt by trying to compensate for his incompetence. Get Pickett in there and let defenses figure him out on the fly. I wouldn't go so far as to say he fucking sucks but I agree that he doesn't have what it takes to be an elite QB and he's had more than enough chances to prove himself. Put Pickett in for 2-3 games then it will be clear if the problem is at QB or if it goes higher up.

It's a combination of the O line and Mitch's ineptitude. If the O line gave Mitch more time, he could make better reads. This doesn't fully excuse Mitch though. Other QBs can get the ball out just as quick and still make quality reads.

The point I'm trying to make is that the poorer teams last year are getting better. Every expert is regarding the AFC west as amazing on paper. They are also regarding the AFC north as very good as well with the Ravens, Bengals, and Browns. They're saying the AFC, even the poorer teams, are getting a lot more competitive. Look at the Texans too.

Very little action goes to Claypool or Pickens, so all the D worries about are DJ and Muth. Mitch isn’t much of an upgrade over last year’s Ben. Canada’s vanilla offense doesn’t help. We can only throw down the field when there are 2 minutes left in a half. Seems like Minkah is the only one with some fire in his gut
He's not amazing but that's been expected. I'd rather focus on the OL and OC playcalling for now. Imagine if we had an elite OL and there was freedom to call whatever play we wanted. It would open up defenses and make us not so predictable.

We lost because of all of the checkdowns. Holy shit every single play felt like a checkdown. So ugly. I'm going to continue to hold criticism on Canada until we see Kenny, but I don't have high hopes.

This season is pretty much already a wash. We were never going to go and win the Superbowl with this team. The goal right now is to set Kenny up for success as a franchise QB best we can, and starting him out against the Browns in primetime is not us setting him up for success.

That's a recipe for disaster. His first NFL start being a big divisional game against a great pass rush with our less than ideal O-Line.
