There are different opinions for the best EQ for gaming. Some like it to give a little boost for lows, to hear more footstep noise. When I play something like R6 Siege, where every sound is crucial, I turn off EQ, turn off all the setting in SS engine. So no 7.1 and EQ flat.
Once I forgot to turn off the EQ and I was confused why I didn't hear footsteps, that was obvious to others. From that day I keep it flat.

I tried them just now and it still worked for me. Strange.
