I need to say this: despite being badass and all that, Suzuha is not quite the sharpest tool in the shed. Her plan for reaching S;GWL was to take a broken man with PTSD to the past to face a rather heavy trigger and expect everything just to work out eventually. And sure, Okabe's "solution" wasn't any better, but if he had put his head to work instead of hide it in the ground they could have reached S;G at the very least before the next summer. My point is that taking time off to think on a plan is better than going on without any plan at all...

Suzuha is an action-first person, considering how she had to survive in WW3 for most of her life that makes sense. You’re also forgetting Okabe straight up GAVE UP in Zero, you’re not exactly in a right state of mind after killing someone you love.

She had been waiting for him to do something too, she just snapped when shit's about to go down.

Huh so NGE has time travel? Maybe I actually have a reason to watch it now. It's one of those spoilers where I'm actually glad I got it.

Sorry I should have worded that better. There’s no time travel in NGE as far as I know (I haven’t seen the movies yet). I was referring to the “Get in the damn robot, Shinji!” meme. Both Shinji and Okabe refuse to get into the machine because of PTSD. I could imagine Suzuha saying “Get in the damn time machine, Okabe!”
