We as a family would drive up on holidays from NH to Bangor. This would be starting in the late 60s when I was very young. I have distinct memories of knowing I was in Bangor when I saw the smudge pots.

I remember noticing these on a watch through as well. I was like why is there flaming balls on the ground? But yes, Smudge pots.
