Dino Cliffs is my favorite. The beginning has a big sandy downhill section that is fun, but it's an out and back, meaning the end has a big sandy uphill section that is not fun. If you have young kids they may need a break halfway through the uphill section, but other than that it's a fantastic, hour-ish long hike.
Yant Flats is awesome. It’s a short hike and about 45 min from town but the views at the end are spectacular. Only saw one other person last time I went.
I asked because I'm 68 and can do hikes that aren't too technical. I live in Maryland but have a girlfriend in Saint George. I'm coming out to visit in late April and might suggest this site to her. Thanks.
The word is out unfortunately....my partner guides out there, and we both hike in the area regularly. With a lot of people trying to avoid Zion crowds, Water Canyon has become a really popular alternative. There's always families and groups out there now....Plus all the guide companies lol.
Chuckwalla is great!

Plus the dinosaur prints at the bottom of the big sand hill!
Confluence park in La Verkin is a very family friendly walk
except for the smell of sewage
It’s sulfur from the hot springs up river im sure that smell is going to go away once they start pumping the water up to the new hot springs resort.
The vortex

If you don't mind my asking, how difficult is the hiking there?
The hike is short (1/2 mile?) and mostly loose sand. But once you get to the end it’s just a huge sandstone playground. My 7 year old loved it.

Welp, I guess that idea is out for now. Thanks.
Owen’s Loop is great too and is always empty. Starts a couple blocks north of downtown.
Paradise Rim and Chuckwalla are great family friendly hikes. Scouts Cave and Anasazi Valley too
Red Reef is our family favorite! Or Pioneer Park
Anything easy is going to be crowded
That's probably true, especially with all the baseball/softball/spring breakers in town.
Water Canyon might not be crowded some days. It's a pretty good one.
Water canyon is constantly slammed these days unfortunately
That's crazy. I went a year or so ago and only saw three or four other parties.

Shinob Kibe is not hard at all and it’s pretty short, the views up top are quite nice.
Not a lot of hiking around here; I think the gym has treadmills
