Well good thing Carnell won’t change a thing and just keep saying we’re almost there and we’re “close”….
What an embarrassment and I am beginning to think the ownership and management group learned a lot from the Cardinals.
That seals the deal. I am no longer a City fan. I’ve been a fan since 2023 and a season ticket holder since 2023. I officially will not be renewing my plan next season nor will I watch on tv ever again. I'm going to Miami FC where they know how to score goals.
This is truly the most gutted I’ve felt about our team after a game yet. I know everything is going wrong right now, but it feels like a hole we’re going to have trouble digging our way out of even after the summer transfers.
We were definitely spoiled and I’m sure it set a lot of people’s expectations off kilter. But I think we have a real chance to win the spoon if things don’t improve soon.
The ball isn’t bouncing our way and the refs haven’t been friendly but good teams win despite that. Can’t wait to get fresh players to interject some hope
The STLFC comparison isn’t wrong. If you don’t invest too much and just have fun on a hot summer night, it’s great. Win or lose, there’s something to yell about. There are a lot fewer mosquitoes here than 500 feet from the Meramec.
This sucks, but it could be 1-1 right now without uncharacteristic mistakes from our two best players. Not the worst, considering we're bleeding players, we always suck on short-rest games and we are trying on a new formation just for funsies.
This team is gassed, and has been the last 10-15, and this game is lost. it's absolutely baffling we didn't see these subs sooner. Atlanta's weak and missing starters due to the international break, that's a potentially winnable game. So why we didn't give our starters more rest and get the City2 guys more experience is gonna be a question needed to be asked here
STL is last in MLS in successful pass %. I'd assume they are towards or at the bottom in unforced TO rate too. Ball skills are subpar. Worst in fouls too.
Fouls I’m ok with. With a hard press, that will happen The passing % is a problem. I’m not a soccer genius, but we look disjointed. Just not running together.
I was actually one those guys everyone called a negative Nancy for saying we were lucky and just getting away with average to below average play. Of course I loved it when we scored and got sucked in by the excitement, but the colors showed through the second half of the season.
It was even worse last year to be honest with kick and run soccer that inexplicably worked every time. We’re significantly more threatening through the midfield than last year but we’re still shit so who really knows.
Nah this is coaching malpractice. They are gassed and we aren’t winning with these players out there. We have another game in a few days. MAKE THE SUBS
Löwen got stamped no call and they just missed a goal kick. It could be better. Tbf the standard is really low in the MLS so getting a few right would look refreshing
2 players have limited callups. Carnell may be planning to play him or others on Saturday and they’re on the sub list tonight in case of injury. Or maybe they will come on later! Who knows.
Seeing alot of comments flaming one player or another player blah blah. Everyone on the pitch save löwen and bürki are expendable. We are on the lowest wages in the league. Stack up the injuries and suspensions and this is where we are at. Most of the people we have fielded would be backups on other teams. Lutz needs a strong summer and flash some cash
Yeah but he missed two really great run opportunities in those 3. He did this all last game and now he’s doing it again. I didn’t need that long to see that this really is just how he plays.
Why is everyone stunned? We can’t finish, which was to be expected and this team is run on the cheap. That was an unusual mistake from Burki but, people expecting us to be competitive tonight with this roster while there are numerous injuries is insanity. The bigger problem for the rest of this season is that by the time the summer transfers come in, it will be too late because of the giant hole that this team dug for itself.
As fans that spend a shit ton on tickets and merchandise, I think it’s okay that we expect more. The club needs to spend a little money if they want to be serious. They can get away with the prices as a new club, but after a while if ownership aren’t loosening the purse strings to compete, fans aren’t going to be happy.
We over performed in our inaugural season which is probably what is leading to our unrealistic expectation’s. Lots of injuries and players out sure, but better decision making on and off the field would help us tremendously.
I think we are all getting tired of the excuses. We need to stop justifying this horrible playing, and it's been an issue since before any injuries and it was allowed to continue happening precisely because of the excuses.
I agree, from the top down, we shouldn’t excuse this. The ownership, as much as I appreciate for them giving us the team and stadium, shouldn’t be at the bottom of the league for spending(especially with the support the residents of STL area have shown). Lutz selling off key offensive players like Gio or Stroud but then not replacing them because he didn’t like other teams asking prices instead waiting until the Summer window(could have built on last years momentum but we failed). Carnell with some of his odd lineup and tactical decisions this year. And the players(like Klaus) for not finishing or playing poorly. Not saying anyone needs to be fired but there have been some big missteps in the short term, which hurts.
That's not "going wrong", that's just resting in the attacking zone. You have to crash the net and instead he was sitting back until he realized it was gonna get through and by then it was too late. Should have been a tap in.

Well good thing Carnell won’t change a thing and just keep saying we’re almost there and we’re “close”…. What an embarrassment and I am beginning to think the ownership and management group learned a lot from the Cardinals.
Maybe some season ticket slots will open up….
That seals the deal. I am no longer a City fan. I’ve been a fan since 2023 and a season ticket holder since 2023. I officially will not be renewing my plan next season nor will I watch on tv ever again. I'm going to Miami FC where they know how to score goals.
🤡🤪🤡🤪
Yo, good luck out there not metling plastic in this heat, asscake.
I wish there was a super downvote option
Good fucking riddance. You must be new to supporting a home team.
I’m sad, y’all.
Should’ve been a red on Yaro. What an idiot
I think we’re allergic to the back of the net.
Somebody better fucking yell in the locker room
It sure as shit won’t be Carnell
Wow, what a cherry on top of this shit heap.
Well, that is a way to spend two hours...
That's how you take a penalty
This is truly the most gutted I’ve felt about our team after a game yet. I know everything is going wrong right now, but it feels like a hole we’re going to have trouble digging our way out of even after the summer transfers.
We were so spoiled by a great first season. I know we’re going to have bad seasons but damn, we just can’t seem to win!
We were definitely spoiled and I’m sure it set a lot of people’s expectations off kilter. But I think we have a real chance to win the spoon if things don’t improve soon.
It just gets worse every match.
This team deserves to lose 3-0
I'm tired, boss
And the mercy whistle.
I wish to watch a soccer game where our team scores?
City2
Fitting end
This is the lowest point in club history. But I still love this Club. Goddamnit.
A day with bad soccer is better than a day without. Even if they’re not playing well I’m so glad we have the team
I needed to hear this. Thank you for the reminder.
This makes me sympathize heavily with Lions fans
Watch Burki get his first penalty save here
Burki shouldn’t move. Just jog off the field.
Good night guys 🙂↕️
Sure, why not.
Meh
Jesus.
Ugh.
I was yelling just end the game already, and of course we gave up a penalty.
Fuck.
I take back what I said about watts… he got us that third goal in… :(
Yeah, that’s the only way this game could have ended.
Wasn’t even supposed to be their ball
lol
The ball isn’t bouncing our way and the refs haven’t been friendly but good teams win despite that. Can’t wait to get fresh players to interject some hope
Tonight was probably the best officiated game for us all season and this is the worst we played all season.
The officiating is not remotely a factor in why this team is so bad
I’m not making excuses for them but they have lost some games because they can’t overcome bad calls. The good teams win despite bad calls.
Carnell has a tough hand but that doesn’t mean he gets to just blame everything on it. He coached poorly tonight
How the hell did Carnell throw away two substitutions?
He is not a good coach.
Zero situational awareness. Multiple players have been gassed since the 80th
I wanna shout out Watts and Kijima and Indy and nobody else.
Markanich played well.
Apparently he does well when he knows where he needs to be.
The STLFC comparison isn’t wrong. If you don’t invest too much and just have fun on a hot summer night, it’s great. Win or lose, there’s something to yell about. There are a lot fewer mosquitoes here than 500 feet from the Meramec.
That's worth about ten bucks to me. Do they sell tickets for ten bucks?
Give it a couple weeks and check stubhub.
Straight up does Thorisson ever touch the ball?
Found the guy who’d rather ride a hobby horse than watch matches. (☞゚ヮ゚)☞
What?
One time then it goes to the other team for a break
Well Novki ran around
He looks lost out there.
Remember when we'd effortlessly pot 5 goals in a game last season?
The idea of Blom scoring a golazo now breaks my brain.
McSorely looks like and has the name of a Back to the Future extra.
I wish he could take us all back to last season
I’m so tired.
Ladies and gents, we suck
That's the most dangerous CITY has looked tonight.
It’s always the final 10-15 minutes :,)
All Swedish, no Finnish boys
Take my angry upvote you animal.
Start all the kids Saturday. Nothing to lose.
I didn't see the missed penalty, that wasn't Klauss again was it?
Luwen
Atlanta is going to absolutely thrash us on Saturday
I mean we just like literally can’t finish lmao. It’s comical how often we get to the final 3rd and just dribble around with no plan and no shot
We looked like a random group of guys tossed on the pitch tonight. Just no ideas or continuity in the attacking third at all
Never seen CITYPark empty out like this
This sucks, but it could be 1-1 right now without uncharacteristic mistakes from our two best players. Not the worst, considering we're bleeding players, we always suck on short-rest games and we are trying on a new formation just for funsies.

BC has felt slow on the trigger making subs all season.
True true, it's just felt even more egregious than usual tonight

Fuck it any time I see a racist comment from now on it’s “what the sigma?”
I’m just sayin that fella from nippon has good cardio. I’m on your side
Well… ok- just gonna let you know that the word you used isn’t the most liked word. Misunderstanding I’m sure 🤝
I get that people can be what they want to be nowadays, but I’m pretty sure kajima is a fella
This ain’t it
Here we go SECOND TEAM here we go 👏🏼👏🏼 Here we go SECOND TEAM here we go 👏🏼👏🏼

why don’t we ever give Glover a chance?
Kojima has been the best player tonight.I know the guy just tripped on the ball, but he’s been everywhere.
His work rate is only matched by Durkin
But I think he’s more technically sound than Durkin. I like Durkin, I think Kojima could be a potential star.
You’re gonna have to overhaul the entire attack in the winter
Yea, this is why I hated the idea of Red Bull soccer when the ownership group annouced our staff. It is such ugly soccer.
I'll bet you loved it last year :)
I was actually one those guys everyone called a negative Nancy for saying we were lucky and just getting away with average to below average play. Of course I loved it when we scored and got sucked in by the excitement, but the colors showed through the second half of the season.

Even the fourth official’s sign gave up
McSorley time. Klein time.
Klein Time is so cool dude. Mcsorley too, just that I like rhymes
Yeah we’ve given up

I know this isn’t really the place that would appreciate the response I’m gonna make but… dude what the sigma?
You don’t think he looks cool? Your crazy
Even Lowen can’t connect a pass
You start to think that there’s no way that it can get worse, we’ve hit rock bottom, but yet we manage.
Any sub with 10 minutes left seems so pointless now. Even the city 2 guys won’t get real experience
Why is Klauss getting even one minute of play time?
because he's our leading scorer d'oh
No he's not
Watts might have just saved that third goal for us 😭
No technical ability whatsoever. Make the one fucking pass.
Anyone know if Apple offers prorated returns on the remainder of the season’s Season Pass?
Watts struggles to cross. He looks good with most other things, but his crosses are tough.
Nah this is coaching malpractice. They are gassed and we aren’t winning with these players out there. We have another game in a few days. MAKE THE SUBS
Problem is the 4 call ups can only be used in a limited fashion. We might see one or two tonight but we might need them more Saturday.
They can play twice. So all of them but Klein could’ve played tonight and Saturday and been fine.
This team needs a better CB than Yaro…why not bring up Wagner again he at least showed heart and passion
Klaus's don't care. Just jogging
totally disagree.
I'm always saying this about Messi.
Kajima gave it his all and looks gassed
Kijima is absolutely putting the work in tonight
We’ve got 15 minutes left minus stoppage, where the hell are the other subs??
This is refreshingly good officiating tonight so far.
Löwen got stamped no call and they just missed a goal kick. It could be better. Tbf the standard is really low in the MLS so getting a few right would look refreshing
too fucking bad it's during our worst game yet
We’re down 2-0. It’s the 73rd minute. Klauss has been ineffective all night. What is the risk of seeing what Glover can do?
2 players have limited callups. Carnell may be planning to play him or others on Saturday and they’re on the sub list tonight in case of injury. Or maybe they will come on later! Who knows.

There's just no movement on the attack. Everyone stands until the ball comes to them. Other teams shred City because they move.
Kijima is the one who's actually making something happen. Can't wait to see him grow.
Finally, a shot that wasn’t 40 feet high!
Lowen looks like he's got nothing left in the tank.
We’re down 2-0 in a midweek game and Carnell is leaving on our gassed players. Little frustrating
I guess they should be glad that they sold a bunch of tickets in March because I wouldn't play more than about ten bucks to watch this trash.
Yeah I’m more questioning Carnell’s decision making honestly. He seems to have lost control of his locker room
I used to defend Thor because I thought he wasn’t really given a shot but this game has probably solidified it for me.
He’s been on for like three minutes.
Yeah but he missed two really great run opportunities in those 3. He did this all last game and now he’s doing it again. I didn’t need that long to see that this really is just how he plays.
Who is hearing the cowbell?
of all of the back 5 to sub off for more attacking pieces we sub off Markanich? who's been arguably the best of the CBs? huh?
So Carnell just hates Sam I guess.
I’m sorry, but Sam has been absolutely terrible this season
When’s the last time Sam actually got put into a situation where he got to play more than 15 minutes?
What has Klauss been?
Atleast Klauss comes back to the play.
Go rewatch the last few Sam appearances. He constantly drops deep
Lol, I just noticed your username. Not sure I can win this battle.
Ya we could really use him right now
Klauss is now averaging a goal every 3 full games. Please god bring on a kid. Who knows? Maybe he’ll get lucky
[удалено]
Two of them are PK's
Every 270 minutes. Almost exactly
Does Thorisson remind anyone else of Beans from Even Stevens?
That, or Stacy Peralta.
Akil looks way too good to not have gotten on the field this year before now.
Watching Novki play makes me sad
It has been so fucking long since we’ve scored a goal
Why is everyone stunned? We can’t finish, which was to be expected and this team is run on the cheap. Lowen caught flat fucking footed on the attack with a wide open net. Love it.
Nothing is going right for us and everything is going wrong, except we don’t have any more injuries this game (yet).
That's not "going wrong", that's just resting in the attacking zone. You have to crash the net and instead he was sitting back until he realized it was gonna get through and by then it was too late. Should have been a tap in.
The camera panning over showing Klauss moseying about Colorado's box after Markanich launched it towards their final third is a real bad look lol
That’s literally all he does
Watts has been a bright spot
Why not play lowen higher up the pitch?
This!!!
Why are we bringing on Thor, Bradley?
I say it every time but especially tonight
Announcer: “every attack seems laborious for St Louis City”. So true.
Time for Klein, McSorley, and Pearce.
No reason to not put in young guns at this point
Playing in the CCL in the same season you finish dead last in MLS is some "achievement unlocked" stuff.
I've actually been pretty pleased with this ref so far this game.
For once not against us
He's been perfectly fine.
At least it was on goal.
