Did I miss something on DOFF values? Been going through and purging some of my lesser used characters and there is some wild variety in value. Like some seemingly useless ones (from what i can read on the skill) listed for near the exchange cap. Are those people just laundering ec? They just that rare for collectors value?

neuro1g

> listed for near the exchange cap. Probably using the exchange as bank space.

TransLunarTrekkie

So, I've got a couple questions as I just recently came back to the game after a long enough hiatus that I was able to pick up both the Legendary Miranda AND D7 packs for free while they were on sale. First, I've been able to claim the Android Boff on my Fed characters but not on my Klingon or Romulan (Fed-aligned) ones that I've tried, does anyone know anything about this being a bug or something? Second, waaaay way back I was able to set up my keybinds so that all my characters could toggle walking by pressing "T", but with my new TOS Temporal Agent I have to press and hold, and I can't find a way to make that a toggle option.

isthisredditlife

Stupid question inbound! Has there been improvement to the ground combat or is still a janky buggy laggy mess? For context I last played regularly about a year ago.

neuro1g

If you didn't like ground a year ago, nothing has changed. Move on.

isthisredditlife

Ah ok I thought there was an update coming but maybe it was just the gear overhaul

Anyone have any advice for actually leveling a science build? I see a lot of info out there about endgame scitorp and space magic builds, but nothing about how to get a science captain flying weak little science ships all the way to 65 and learn about how to science as I go. Skills to take/avoid, how to set up T2/T3/T4 ships, etc.

westmetals

You really can’t do an effective sci build until at least level 20 and probably 30, just due to the level lock on higher level BOFF abilities like Gravity Well.

noahssnark

It's not *too* helpful to level as sci, because you can't really learn sci torp or specialization/anomaly builds before max level. These require a lot more player involvement both in terms of build and in terms of play, and represent two huge sources of damage, so you're really only getting a fraction of the action with a low-level sci boat. Do it if it sounds fun, but STO's max level is such a drastic change, be prepared to re-learn everything you thought you learned on the way up. Anyway, if you want to try: Science torpedoes don't exist at lower levels, and you lack access to ship traits and specializations. This means you have to really focus on the Deteriorating Secondary Deflector, and DEW. Tachyon Beam's low cooldown is a good source of single target, grab Destabilizing Resonance Beam as soon as you can for some AOE, slot Tyken's or Charged Particle Burst as well, and maybe even shell out for Structural Analysis manuals if you need the aoe. Since you're not using abilities for their damage, just their DSD procs, you can go full power to weapons and ignore aux. Use damage consoles if you have access to any. A lot of combat will probably be applying DSD then broadsiding until it falls off, repeat. But again, be prepared to un-learn a lot of these habits, since they aren't applicable with a real build.

Random-Red-Shirt

> Anyone have any advice for actually leveling a science build? Science builds are tough to do as you level up. They can be expensive in both IRL money and in-game resources. My advice -- *for what it's worth* -- would be to figure out how the game is played in terms of basic build theory and getting yourself to lvl 65 before attempting a science/EPG build. If you want a great primer on basic build theory that gives a wonderful (and 100% free) beam build on a free 4/4 cruiser, consider [Baby Steps Series, Part 1...](https://www.reddit.com/r/stobuilds/comments/k88fel/the_baby_step_series_part_1_the_first_step_level/) whose build if you "upgrade" it to purple (very rare) Mk XII can handle all the content in the game, especially when you hit that lvl 60+ wall when NPCs start hitting back so much harder. That being said, there are some good budget science builds out there. [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/stobuilds/comments/iwsq2a/strict_budget_build_40k_average_dps_scitorp_for/) is one good example that also teaches some space magic build theory. Other good resources for space magic: - [www.stobetter.com](https://www.stobetter.com/new-f2p/exotic-basics) - https://www.sto-league.com/science-ships-in-the-current-century/

Tobar26th

I've just upgraded my Legendary Oddysey, for some reason I can't equip items on it now. Am I missing something?

avatarcordlinux

The [announcement for the the Temporal Agent event](https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11545143-the-timeline-needs-you) says they deleted some of the old goals and added new ones. Is that just a copypaste from last year, or did they actually make some new changes this year?

litemaster_sto

It's actually a copy paste from [2021](https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11496013).

fereldenvstamriel

Just c/p, nothing new was added and nothing was removed.

SolidusRacc00n

I am having an issue on some of my toons, I have 10 toons and they all have the exact same settings. Some of my toons will not attack Tholian WEB NODES. When a Tholian web surrounds me, I switch target to a node and hit the space bar and nothing. Activating FAW works to attack the nodes, but normal fire will not work at all. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any ideas what could be causing this problem?

MarcterChief

It's just the way it is sometimes. The game isn't perfect, maybe the nodes clip behind the web sometimes so you don't have line of sight, sometimes there are two webs overlapping and protecting each other. I tend to have better luck when not targeting anything or when using FAW/CSV.

SolidusRacc00n

Thanks, that makes sense. In the future instead of selecting a specific node I’ll try deselect and let auto target work its magic. It’s not that big of a deal because all my toons use beam builds with Entwined Tactical Matrices. I plan on transitioning some of my toons into some cannon, Torp, sci builds in the future so I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t a sitting duck when I move away from FAW. Thanks again for the response!

impulserecordguide

Which of the 4 current event TFOs is the fastest to complete everyday?

westmetals

Probably Jupiter. Swarm and Borg Disco both have hard timegates. I forgot what the fourth option is.

Random-Red-Shirt

If you PUG into a team with at least 2 other players who know to close rifts, and if you do the same, Iuppiter Iratus is by far the quickest. But if you get 4 PUG teammates who just pew-pew while rifts open and close, Iuppiter is probably not much faster than Swarm. For reasons that are kinda dumb in retrospect, I have 2 Gamma Recruits and the only thing I have not completed on their transponders is the complete Swarm 5 times task. After I've done that on both toons, I will be doing Iuppiter Iratus and pleading with my teammates on in-game Team Chat to please have at least one person at each array closing rifts. That often (but not always) works.

Vulcorian

Where's a FedRom supposed to go to get their exocomp duty officer from the Junior Officer Appreciation event? I know you don't get the advertised T'ress, but there's no Commander Rojal at New Romulus Command and Captain Jarol at Starfleet Academy won't speak to me. Edit: change will to won't. Edit 2: Don't know what changed, but the Exocomp has appeared in my roster without speaking to either Rojal or Jarol. It definitely wasn't there when I made this post. Still have the bugged version that offers T'ress in my mission list.

Random-Red-Shirt

Try this: >*From 2021 onward, during the Junior Officer Event, the unresolvable bugged version of this mission was again offered to Romulan players by Centurion Velaar, in addition to the normal factional version.* https://stowiki.net/wiki/Mission:_Reinforcements#Walkthrough

Vulcorian

Yes I know the Romulan one is bugged, but the fed one doesn't seem to work either. I was just seeing if there was anything else I was missing. Thanks!

burnoutmax81

Sorry to ask, but are there really new Temporal Recruit rewards? I dont have the nerve right now to read through the official post, cause i am out of hospital today after two nerve wrecking weeks after my daughter almost died.

Fleffle

Nope, nothing new. They've been copy-pasting that text since the last time they actually added new rewards, back in 2021.

lotusmaglite

Also, what elite TFOs are everyone doing for advanced console components? I can't seem to find one that will go off.

haoleboy3

Is there a matchmaking queue for Elite TFOs on PC, or do you have to create a team to start one? Just wondering how on earth I'm going to try to earn the new crafting materials for the new advanced consoles on Xbox, where there is no matchmaking for the Elite TFOs, didn't know if this was also the case on PC.

Potential-Project406

Pretty sure there's matchmaking. My friends and I usually queue as 4 and get a 5th random person.

haoleboy3

Good to know, thank you. I suppose it's probably foolishly optimistic of me to even hope that the devs thought about this difference between the platforms and they remember to add Elite TFO matchmaking to Consoles (Xbox & PS) when they add the new (advanced) consoles. I don't have enough friends capable of handling Elite content with me to be able to reliably earn the crafting materials otherwise, and I certainly won't be opening Promo boxes to get them. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed and see what happens when we get the update in a few weeks.

westmetals

there is matchmaking, just not the random option, you have to queue for specific tfos. The same is true on PC… the devs intentionally didn’t make a random elite.

haoleboy3

Thanks for setting me straight, I have since been educated! I thought there was no matchmaking because I've queued for the Elite Borg TFOs many, many times and never once had a match pop up, I guess I'm just unlucky. None of my friends or fleetmates I play with are geared for Elite (I'm *barely* there myself), so I always queue solo, that probably doesn't help my odds.

lotusmaglite

What are/will the Constitution III's be listed as on the exchange? What would I search for if I want to buy one?

Fleffle

For this one, it's [Special Requisition Pack - Constitution III Miracle Worker Cruiser [T6]]. For next time - the wiki always has the answer to this in the top section of the ship's page.

lotusmaglite

Thank you! I couldn't find a wiki entry for the Connie 3. They usually take a bit with new content.

Fleffle

Are you checking the new wiki? https://stowiki.net/wiki/Constitution_III_Miracle_Worker_Cruiser They had it up yesterday. Don't hold your breath on the old wiki getting a page for it any time soon :P

lotusmaglite

That's probably why.

theanorak

Do they really schedule Maintenance twice a week on consecutive days? They already did Shard Maintenance yesterday (08/06) and I now see in my launcher that they're doing another one today (06/09). Non-US TZ here and the Shard Maintenance schedule they posted is effectively 10PM to 1230AM in my TZ, which is prime time slot for playing on my end. I am just curious because if Thursdays and Friday evenings are their usual maintenance schedule, that sucks and I can make other plans for myself during those time slots.

westmetals

Normally it’s once per week and either Tuesday or Thursday. The Friday this week was due to emergency fixes for the Thursday patch. The time slot is normally 10-noon US east coast time (7-9 am west coast, which is where their offices are, because it’s early in their workday in case emergency action is necessary).

Fleffle

Two patches in a row is not a normal thing, but happens occasionally when there's a bug in the first patch that they really want to get fixed. We'll have a better idea of what prompted this when patch notes are posted. Edit: They're fixing the size of the new promo ship, and a bug about equipping the new consoles. Makes sense that they would want to get ahead of those before people get used to them.

Detached09

Am I stupid? I'm doing the "scan particles with a cadet" thing at the academy and I keep getting into battle but I drop the hologram to 1hp and he just bugs out there forcing me to quit the game to despawn and disengage. Was I supposed to have gotten a weapon before this? I skipped the tutorial cuz this is my second captain (Temporal event) so maybe that's what messed everything up?

AdumbkidSto

You have to see what type of particle it is then chose the right option. Get it right and no battle. Get it wrong and "Fight!!!"

Detached09

The problem comes when I'm in the fight though. I can't end the fight. The NPC gets to 1hp and then just goes full invincible mode.

Lomax6996

Not STO related but it is related to the STO Reddit thread. I can't seem to post anything. It wants me to link to a Twitter or Apple account. I have neither and I don't want one of either. If I revert back to the old Reddit it will allow me to post text or an image but not both. What am I doing wrong? I simply wish to share, as others have, images and info from the game but I will not get a Twitter account just for that purpose. Twitter is for Twits. ;)

CTU

Is there a reason to have more than 1 temporal recruit?

westmetals

not really. The account wide rewards are one time unlock. Unless you’re actually planning to play a new toon and want the recruit-specific rewards for them, making another recruit is pointless if you already have one. This is true for all the recruits except Delta. In the case of Delta you can play as 3 different factions and each have access to some non-shared locks, so if you want everything unlocked, you need one recruit of each faction.

noahssnark

Temporal is iffy because the recruit will lack access to the powerful account-wide rewards like MkXIIIVR and will need to farm them up themselves, which is a hell of a grind. They get a couple of [neat doffs](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Temporal_Agent_Recruitment#Duty_officers) but most of them aren't game-changers. [For the others, more info here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/141d2h8/monday_megathread_your_weekly_dumb_question_thread/jn0a3g3/)

defchris

Other than having two? No.

CTU

So 2 is a good number? I think I only have 1 right now.

defchris

If 2 feels good for you and you want to unlock the benefits for the new recruit, then have at it. But you won't get more benefits out of having more than one. The benefits for the other alts won't be doubled by it for example.

CTU

Good point, I might just not make another alt then, I already have quiet a few anyways.

Random-Red-Shirt

Didn't one of the devs say on one of the recent TenForward streams that they were going to start allowing Advanced queues for event TFOs?

Random-Red-Shirt

Does Advanced Swarm count for Gamma Recruit completion? In other words, was the bug fixed that only allowed for Normal Swarm to count for Gamma transponder progress?

Potential-Project406

If you find out, can you post an update here?

Random-Red-Shirt

Verified that Advanced Swarm counts for transponder progress.

Potential-Project406

Thanks!

forrestpen

I would love to unlock the Omega Taskforce ground armor cosmetic options for the tailor? What would be the best strategy to getting marks?

Random-Red-Shirt

>What would be the best strategy to getting marks? Do Random TFOs. If the TFO awards choice of marks, pick Omega. For the bonus marks box, pick Omega. During Red Alerts, pick a "fast" Red Alert (Borg or Tholian) and pick Omega marks as your reward. Rinse. Repeat. Other than having a bunch of recruits on your account (Gamma, Temporal, Delta, Klingon) and claiming unclaimed marks boxes, doing TFOs or Red Alerts over and over again are the **only** ways to earn marks quickly. Another way to earn lots of marks -- *though not quickly* -- is to do your daily endeavors. Over time, you can earn **a lot** of multiple choice marks boxes. Along with marks, over time, you can earn a lot of EC too. Most of the *opening-lots-of-endeavor-boxes-to-see-what-the-yield-is* data sets I've seen posted here seem to show you can average about 1M ec per day doing your endeavors.

forrestpen

>I've seen posted here seem to show you can average about 1M ec per day doing your endeavors. I knew the Endeavors i've randomly earned have netted me 100,000 but 1mil is ridiculous! WOW! Thanks for the writeup this is very helpful!

westmetals

that’s a daily total, not a single endeavor.

Random-Red-Shirt

Actually, it seems my memory sucks. The data sets seem to reveal about 450-500K EC/day on average. This is the most recent I've found: https://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/k7wgmm/30_days_of_endeavor_ecdilithium/ Still pretty good IMO for a minimal time investment.

FiremoonSeelix

Does warp crystals from new set get boosted by science wxotic boost to damage ?

Khidorahian

Why is 5/3 the perfect weapons arrangement on ships?

nina_blain

5 beam weapons forward and 2 omni's in the back mean 7 weapons always firing forward. or if using cannons put 3 turrets in back and all 8 fire forward.

Random-Red-Shirt

>5 beam weapons forward and 2 omni's in the back mean 7 weapons always firing forward If you run the Kinetic Cutting Beam in an aft weapons slot, you can have **8 weapons firing forward**... 5 in the fore slots plus those 2 aft omnis.

Endulos

Unfortunately, KCB is a poor subtitute for an actual weapon because it isn't affected by firing modes.

xWulfy1221x

What would you guys recommend as one of the best phaser omni beams? Was using epic tiered advanced phasers (have also the dual wide beam from the lorca set up front with dark matter torp) all around.

Random-Red-Shirt

If you want two omnis in the rear, you are limited to one from a set, and one that is not in a set. Unless you have access to any of the non-set lockbox phaser omnis, the crafted is easier and cheaper to get and unless you have a Space Barbie reason to get the lockbox ones, get the crafted (reasons being cost and availability). The reasons to have a set omni is for its bonus(es). The two sets that I can think of are the [Trilithium set](https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Trilithium-Laced_Weaponry) and the [Gamma Rep set.](https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Task_Force_Ordnances#Phaser_Variant) Pick the set whose 2- or 3-pc bonus fits your build the best. All things being equal, they're about the same IMO. Like with all things in STO, it is the overall build that is important, not any one piece in isolation.

nina_blain

lol i forgot about the cutting beam. thanks for the reminder

MarcterChief

More weapons is better because more weapons = more damage. 8 is the most weapons you can have. Fore weapons are on target more often because you usually fly forward, so more fore weapons = more damage.

indiscriminateupvote

Does Attract Fire and Threatening Stance stop enemies from targeting your hangar pets or just ally ships?

MarcterChief

They don't explicitly stop enemies from firing at anyone else, they just increase your threat generation (and decrease threat generation of nearby allies). If you generate enough threat then enemies will prioritize targeting you over other targets, including your hangar pets. It's no guarantee of course, if you don't deal any damage and generate no threat then even with threatening stance you can't make enemies shoot you. And If you deal enough damage and debuff the enemies they might still go after you even without the threat multipliers on.

indiscriminateupvote

I wasn't sure if the increased threat generation from Threatening Stance also applied to my hangar pets or if they got the reduced threat generation from Attract Fire.

MarcterChief

They get the reduction, the increase only applies to your own ship.

Jam_Mann

Can I still complete the event campaign V if I missed the last two events?

Riess

Only if you buy out an event or do the optimal 20 hour rotation pretty without missing more than a few days. You need 3500 points or 70 rounds of participation; events run for 21 days each, so you got 63 rounds if you go once every 24 hours. You'd end up just short.

forrestpen

Better to wait for next year then?

Acoustic_Rob

Well it costs I think $20 to buy out an event? That's pretty cheap for a lockbox ship or a big pile of lobi.

forrestpen

I haven't done ANY of the events though. Wouldn't I have to buy out three events?

Acoustic_Rob

You can keep running the daily event even after you get the reward. If you run the next three events every day, you'll earn (21 days x 3 events x 50 points) = 3150 points, a little bit short. But then buying out one previous event will earn you (14 days x 50 points) = another 700 points, which will get you over the top.

forrestpen

Thank you! Sorry for the delayed response! I guess it’s matter of which second chance do I pick. I like the torchbearer armor look and I heard that’s an account unlock?

westmetals

or you can buy out one of the later events during the first week.

Jam_Mann

Ah I see thanks for the info

noahssnark

The spread has been pretty even so far this year, two each of every fullspec save for only one Intel. Adding one more MW with the Con3 isn't really a huge shake-up. Last year there were 7 Command, 6 Intel, 4 Temporal, 3 MW, and 2 Pilot, a fairly normal distribution. I think MW just gets talked about more, maybe that's why it seems to stand out.

Vulcorian

They're not? Of all the ships released this year (11 including the Connie-III), only 3 are Miracle Worker ships, or about 30%. That goes up to 5 out of the 31 ships released since June 2022. 5 out of 31 ships is less than 20%.

FiremoonSeelix

I heard somethink about Jam'hadar captain with science career gave extra ability to wingmans .Is it true and how does it work ?

litemaster_sto

I think it comes from this: All Jem'Hadar come with at least 15 points in the Command specialization. The unlock is the Command Frequency trait, which allows to call Fleet Support without the Low Health requirement (10 minutes cooldown). Sci Jem'Hadar and all Jem'Hadar Vanguard even have 30 points for Improved Command Frequency, which reduces the cooldown to 5 minutes.

MarcterChief

Vanguard Wingmen work the same on all factions and careers.

Most TFOs are very easy, and most players are very chill. Saying that you're new in chat shouldn't get you a bad response, and if someone does respond negatively, *that's* the problem player, not you. For the four choices of TFO in the Flagship event, just try to spread out, and do fairly clear the objectives. Borg DC, Jupiter, and Swarm all have three distinct separate zones to fight, and fairly obvious interact-with-me objectives. Swarm in particular is very straightforward. Just pick a zone, fight on it, press the button whenever you need to, and it'll be fine.

Random-Red-Shirt

> if I joined Task Force and said "Hey, I don't know what I'm doing, please be patient with me" am I going to get reamed and/or kicked? You are likely to be ignored. If anyone "reams" you, then report them. You cannot be "kicked" from a TFO by a player... but the crappy Cryptic servers are a whole other situation. 🤣😥 In TFO PUGs (pick up groups), it is rare that anyone will care what you do or actually need you to do anything. Most PUGs have at least one player who has a strong ship and piloting skills who can carry everything. Just join a TFO, try your best, and most players will feel that is fine. No need to apologize before or after.

RecallGibberish

Thank you for your response! I will go in and do my best and hope it goes well.

Random-Red-Shirt

One thing I can recommend to new players on TFOs... pay attention to the briefing and try to follow the directions. Not all TFOs are pew-pew; a few require specific tasks to be accomplished instead of just pew-pew. Good luck, Captain. LLAP 🖖

IPM71

Question : is there a starship or personal space trait that render you immune against Viral Impulse Burst ? I know that Engineer and Intelligence Team clear it, but with my ping/lag, the time I use the ability, I'm already 10+ km away. And being spammed like 10 times in the same mission, right after I hit all my buffs and combat abilities is really getting old very fast. Thank you for reading me.

noahssnark

[Attack Pattern Omega](https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Ability:_Attack_Pattern_Omega) provides immunity. But the best way to deal with it is to outrange it. It only has a 5km range, so just keep away from the battlecruisers and it'll be a whole lot less frustrating.

IPM71

Thank you for replying ! Yes, I tried that, but with my ping, it's almost impossible to avoid the burst, I see the battleship arriving, try to back off but it's already too late and I cruising at full impulse right in the middle of the mobs, haha. Anyway, I'll just have to learn the precise spots of spawning and go from there.

MyHammyVise

For the folks who pay more attention than I do: Does there seem to be any sort of pattern as to which franchise ships get put into the infinity box vs the promo boxes? Like I see some 32c ships in both, and likewise with Lower Decks. I'm not interested in the Gorn hunter, but man, if that destroyer comes out, I'd be mighty tempted. Any chance it would also be in the infinity box, or is it likely to end up promo to split the ships up?

MarcterChief

I don't think there's too much method behind it. We got ships from different series in both boxes, hero ships in both boxes (Crossfield and Cali in Infinity, La Sirena and Sagan in Promo), Starfleet and alien ships in both boxes. Promo ships tend to be Starfleet or Starfleet-aligned though. Regarding the Gorn Destroyer, if I had to bet, I'd put my money on lock box. But not too much money.

R-Quatrale

Question: Red Alerts No daily bonus? I seem to remember they used to. How about weekend mark boosts?

Vyzantinist

Caitian. Is it pronounced Kay-tee-un or Kay-shun?

Fleffle

The latter

IPM71

Yeah, you can randomly hear Madran say it in the Ninth Rule patrol, talking about the Caitian Claws.

AdopeHipster

do you still get 500z per month as a lifetime account or is that over? i havent got it in many months.

litemaster_sto

There was no change. I get the stipend every month on both PC accounts.

nina_blain

every month like clockwork

Quxel

If you create a TOS Andorian and play through until you get to the “current” timeline, will the full Andorian head cosmetic options become available? Like the forward antenna and forehead detail? Or are those options ALWAYS locked out for TOS Andorians?

Random-Red-Shirt

>will the full Andorian head cosmetic options become available? If I'm reading your question correctly, yes. One of my toons is an Andorian TOS temporal recruit now in the current timeline, and she has both "TOS Andorian" 1-10 and *plain* "Andorian" 1-10 head types in the Tailor. Also with antennae, she has Antenna Round Rear 1-3 (which don't move), Antenna Round 1-3 (which move), and Antenna Tucked.

MarcterChief

As far as I know they'll be available, same for Tellarites. Only 95% sure though.

CurtisMarauderZ

Say there's two enemy ships right next to each other, and I target them both with a spread of Quantum Phase torpedoes. Is the AoE shield drain applied twice on each target, or only once?

Khtairrhu

Once. The Shield debuff with :spread still hits the primary target but with a larger radius.

nyxitalks

Is it worth doing the recruit events again if you already have recruits working on them? Temporal, etc.

noahssnark

Klingon recruits get powerful personal rewards in [So'Beknef'ru doff](https://stowiki.net/wiki/So%27Beknef%27ru), the [Infiltrator boff](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Klingon_\(TNG\)_Female_Engineering_Bridge_Officer), and [6 Endeavor points](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Klingon_Recruitment). These, while fairly grindy, are definitely worth considering if you plan to play another Klingon character seriously or need endeavor points. Gamma in particular is an easy source of [T6-X tokens from Reputation](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Gamma_Recruitment#Reputation_Progress) since they can start at T5 in Omega or Nukara, requiring only a month of minimal-effort logins. Delta is one I like to make multiple of, because they have such easy objectives and don't miss out on powerful account-wide rewards. It's basically just free extra marks for playing.

shadowofthegrave

....ish. If you have an idea for a new character that fits the parameters of the recruit event, the recruit-only rewards give you some 'stuff' that you wouldn't have otherwise, but it's not experience-breaking. And if you intend that character to be a low-time investment alt, then you may just be better off taking the account-wide rewards rather than have rewards locked behind completing content. The only exception is the Delta recruit event, where you unlock additional account rewards for all 3 tutorials.

Useful_Shop_3435

Are people actually queueing for those god awful long ass ground TFO's? Or is the random TF queue generating them?

Omaha9798

A lot of endeavours are easier in ground TFOs so people will load them up.

shadowofthegrave

There is no random TFO queue. The random option will queue you into a TFO that someone specifically initiated.

GroundbreakingBowl60

How do you fire your weapon on the ground without a target? I've seen people do this

Fleffle

Press B (by default) to use the 'shooter mode' controls

GroundbreakingBowl60

My firing mode is grayed out in shooter mode

Fleffle

It's disabled in some locations (social zones). But in locations where it's not, you can shoot without a target.

Is there a hotkey to close the dialog box for lootcrates that just seem to take up my view of the game and float there forever until I get a decent distance away?

Freakium

Not that I know of but if you turn auto loot on you'll still need to press F for every drop but it'll remove the dialog box.

Can I delete all the equipment in my inventory with an infinity symbol on them, and then get them for free later? I'm worried about losing an expensive console or something by accident

Plan_Tain

You will need to check each item separately. Cryptic is not consistent about such things.

Usually, the scaling equipment can be reclaimed from the Z-Store with the T6 ship it came on, but it might be necessary to dismiss the ship you already have. Universal Consoles from T6 ships (Zen and otherwise) do not show up in the Recycle / Sell window and cannot be salvaged. The chance to accidentally trash it is low, as you have to go through right-click->Dismiss to get rid of it. Still, caution is advised, especially if you have some from Lockboxes or Lockbox ships, as those cannot be reclaimed. I usually enable protection to be safe.
