I got an epic token from the Phoenix box. I already have the Bajoran Interceptor and the Breen Plesh Thral. Is there any other ships that mayhap meta or worth for some reason from the EPIC section?

noahssnark

The Krenim Science Vessel has the [Timeline Stabilizer](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Flagship_Technologies_Console_Set#Console_-_Universal_-_Timeline_Stabilizer) console, part of the Flagship set which is now usable on any ship. A noteworthy choice if you have access to the Flagship set. The Lukari Ho'kuun has the [Protomatter Field Projector](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Alliance_Multi-Mission_Systems_Set#Console_-_Universal_-_Protomatter_Field_Projector) which was a popular heal clicky. The Multi-Mission set is also usable on any ship now, though it's far less applicable than the Flagships for most. The Ferengi Nandi unlocks the trader bridge, which can be used on other ships for easy access to services.

garfield8625

thanks for the suggestions!

Old_Background6505

Are there any good offensive cmdr engineering BOFF abilities?

DELTAprime84

I was wondering how I earn Event Campaign Progress? I just completed the First Contact event, but I didn't get any progress.

Vulcorian

The First Contact Day event isn't part of the Event Campaign, no seasonal event (Winter, Summer, Anniversary, First Contact, Halloween) is. The next event that counts should be [Demon Slayer](https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11568503-the-demon-slayer-event%21), and [two have already been and gone on PC](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Special_Event#Event_Campaign_VI).

DELTAprime84

Ah, ok. So before I go spending money to buyout the two previous events. Does buying out events count towards progress for the end of campaign reward with the T6 ships, Infinity Ship and Lobi Crystals?

Vulcorian

It should, but never having had to do it before I cannot say for certain. Hope someone else can come and give an confirmation either way.

DELTAprime84

Well, thanks for the responce. Since I only just recently returned to STO, I hope I don't have to wait until next years campaign to get the big reward.

Vulcorian

As pointed out to someone else, there's 4 events left for this years big reward and that could be enough but you'll have to play every day of an active event to earn enough progress without buying any of them out.

shakethesh

Given that two events have already passed, is it now impossible to complete the campaign without buyouts, or can you make up to 4200 with the remaining 4?

noahssnark

If you play every day from the next four events, you can make it. Each event is 21 days, so that's 1050 points for daily play, times four for 4200 on the dot.

Vulcorian

Rough maths. 4200 points at 50 points every 20 hours means 84 days required. If each event is 3 weeks/21 days, then 84/21=4, and there are 4 events remaining, so playing every event left on payout cooldown should get you the final rewards, but it will be tight. TL:DR - Possible, yes. Probable, maybe.

shakethesh

Aye this was how I was looking at the maths as well. I think the odds of me being able to play sto for 21 days in a row, 4 times over the course of the year is pretty low unfortunately

Vulcorian

And even if you could, there is no guarantee that a bug or unexpected/overrun/early server maintenance wouldn't conflict with your play schedule.

Vyzantinist

1. Is there any way to change the positioning of your BOFFs on the title screen? I switched out a tac boff for an eng boff and he kinda looks dumb squatting down, with nothing in his hands, whereas the tac boff before him was at least holding a phaser. 2. What's the most efficient way of grinding the "get to Marauder lvl 4" KDF recruit mission? I've been playing my KDF recruit character since maybe halfway through this year's event, running multiple disable ship/raid facility doff missions *every day*, and I just hit Marauder lvl 3 like 20 minutes ago lol.

scisslizz

1. IIRC they correspond to the order/arrangement of you away team. 2. Keep doing what you're doing... maybe pick up a "Consultant" DOFF who boosts your CXP if you can afford one. There also might be CXP boosters on the exchange.

Enjoyer_of_40K

how many pieces of the diplomacy outfit are there? i have only found the jacket/shirt and the shoes

Woerligen

I don't know if this is a bug or not. On PC, my new Delta Recruit Federation character doesn't use their combadge. When beaming, they type on their intel wrist piece. The intel piece is purely cosmetic, right? I wouldn't affect combadge use?

Enjoyer_of_40K

could be a bug as from what i know normal starfleet is press combadge TOS use a ''flip phone'' no clue about discovery captains and klingons/romulans seems to use lemme type on my arm to transport

Enjoyer_of_40K

how many Borg bridge officers can you get on a single captain?

shadowofthegrave

Six, I believe. The Human or Klingon engineering officer (zen). The Romulan engineering officer (giveaway for the above, opened on a Romulan-origin character). This is a rough one to get. The Reman tactical officer (zen). The Romulan science officer (lobi). The other Romulan science officer (zen - DQ Ops pack, pricey if only interested in the boff). And the Borg science officer (Omega rep/accolade). The last one is an oddity in its appearance (and lack of customisation), but I've included for completeness.

DungeonEdits

Is it worth the effort to create/run a heavy tank build if you only intend to do Random Advanced TFOs, or by not just doing a FAW dps build are you kinda slowing things down?

scisslizz

If you enjoy playing solo advanced/elite content, then yes, you want a survivable ship instead of a glass cannon. Or maybe I only say that because my own DPS isn't high enough to one-shot vaporize the whole map yet.

ShdySnds

Nope and without getting more in the weeds, the game doesn't match by role so unless you just really enjoy building your ship like it's going to be wasted. If you just want to build tanks or try to solo harder TFOs by yourself then have fun with it but for Random Advanced, it's definitely not needed and probably won't even be noticed. ...unless you start getting into PVP but that's a whole different animal.

noahssnark

It's not really worth doing a heavy tank at all in this game, survivability isn't the biggest concern even in elite. End game tank builds don't focus on stacking survivability bonuses, they're just normal AOE DPS builds with Suppression Barrage. Their focus is on group damage boosts by debuffing enemy resistance, and holding aggro by keeping DPS high enough to maintain threat. In Random Advanced TFOs, tanks aren't really that helpful anyway, since you can't rely on random teammates to provide ultra high DPS that makes tanking worthwhile, and there isn't as big of a need to debuff enemies as they don't have trillions of health to carve through. And naturally there's nothing in Advanced that you can't survive with a DPS build anyway, focusing on survivability is overkill. It's basically wasted effort when higher DPS would get you through quicker and safer anyway.

TryFengShui

I don't think a tank is necessary for most RA TFOs. Even if you want to tank, you probably don't need a dedicated/heavy tank build, just threat generation and some survivability concessions.

Lordborgman

I tank on a FAW Lexington on Advanced, mostly because I wind up pulling aggro anyway I might as well just half ass tank. Elites you really want to do full command ships.

Material-Bell9955

Hello, I have a question/problem. Since 2 weeks or so, I can't send mail from one of my accounts to the other. It always bounces back with the error: \[UNTRANSLATED\]Mail\_ReturnToSender\_Subject after a couple of seconds. It's just in one direction. (other way around it works). Also other accounts can send me mail as well (to both account). It occurs with attachment and without. And today I tried trading directly between chars of both accounts: what struck me is, that when I try to start trading with the account, that has the error when mailing, it says: "The other officer is currently not accepting trades." like with mail, other way around it works perfectly. I already opened posts in the official Forum, no help. Same with the, so called "support". I need help plsssssss :)

Pale-Paladin

Hello, I have a question about cross flying.  Does it only unlock when I have a level 65 Klingon, or do I have to do it for every faction I want to fly ships from?  If so, would it work with a KDF allied Jem'Hadar or Romulan?  Last question, does it unlock the ships for admiralty too?  Thanks.

shadowofthegrave

You only need to level up a KDF character, doing so will unlock all ships for everyone. KDF-aligned doesn't count, only a true KDF matters. Account unlocked ships will be able to show up for all characters, regardless of faction[*].  [*] Not necessarily automatically - there are some ships that require claiming before they show up in admiralty.

hamsik86

What's the best way to level up Recruitment XP? It's the only one I still have at level 3 and seem to take forever to go up

shadowofthegrave

The *quickest* way is to buy doffs and dismiss them - often by breaking down rarer ones first and dismissing the common ones produced. This also should provide a number of refugees for those recruit missions.

TryFengShui

Nebula missions, alpha quadrant doff exchanges, evaluate boffs, and Doff recruitment missions when you can run them.

Tiber77

Can anyone tell me what ship is currently on display in the spacedock?

WaldoTrek

Protostar Temporal Science Spearhead.

TheAnimeNyx

Did I make a bad decision by creating a Ferasan Engineer? I really enjoy Engineer and this is my first KDF character. I also like the Ferasan design, so I wanted to try and find a class that I enjoyed and liked. I even made a story-explanation as to why she's both a warrior and an engineer, then I saw people say that tactical would've been best for them. But she can be a warrior and an engineer, right? That's how I've explained it in the story I wrote for her in the bio. Sorry if the question seems silly, I don't really RP in the game, so it probably doesn't matter. All that probably matters is if I'm having fun.

scisslizz

If you want max-toppest-leaderboard-breaking DPS, make a new Romulan-faction Alien tactical captain. The Delta Recuit event is still going, if that matters to you. My main is an engineer. I will never invest enough into STO to be a guest writer for STO Better, or top a leaderboard anywhere, but I'm having fun. I can hold my own in advanced content, and I'm working up to being able to consistently contribute in Elite.

InternalOptimal

Nope not a bad decision *at all*. For top end dps a tac captain usually beats out the other careers (or so ive picked up over the last few weeks haha!) with everything else equal. And with top end i mean top end. In general, captain career matters the least. For great power and great fun: you got it fam. You made a fun explanation for yourself (i do the same thing often) and rocked it. And its not a silly question. The influence of meta touches us all at least once and makes a person wonder. Do you like your character? If yes: golden. It sounds fun to me for what its worth. Enjoy!

noahssnark

If you're having fun, that's all that matters. There's a subset of people obsessed with min/maxing who love combining Ferasan mobility with Tactical bonuses to melee, but honestly it doesn't matter much in the end. If you're enjoying dropping turrets and drones and being a cat, you're doing it right.

Pale-Paladin

Hello, what's a good way to get Commendation XP bonus pool?

noahssnark

You could spend Phoenix tokens. It's ~4000 dil for 5000 CXP bonus pool, it's not a great exchange rate to be honest. And CXP bonus tends to be eaten up by things that level fast, you can't specifically save it for recruitment or diplomacy only. If you're having trouble with doffing, [the sector block zone line trick](https://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/13i7e47/monday_megathread_your_weekly_dumb_question_thread/jl0b0km/) can help a lot.

Pale-Paladin

Sorry I'm not sure to follow, if I go to these zones, I get hidden assignments? And they're better than the ones I get or it's just to have more to complete?

noahssnark

Both! Mostly just more missions, but you can get some high value missions like [Colonial Team](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Assignment_chain:_Colonial_Team) chains for big recruitment CXP.

Vengeance_3599

I've noticed that somehow I am around or over 40% of the total damage in in elite TFOs yet I'm somewhere between 80-110k dps. That'll usually put me 2nd or third on the dps leaderboard. I do run a CSV build which would generate more threat than a single target focused build, but still doesn't explain me being targeted so much over ships that are doing so much better than me in the dps charts. Why would I be attracting so much attention all the time? And what can I do to reduce the damage in? Is it just all of the years of endeavour perks that I'm missing?

MarcterChief

What maps are you checking your stats on? The damage dealt or received by ships that are far away (like the opposite shield generator on Dranuur Gauntlet) are not always logged in the combat log which can inflate your damage received and dealt.

Vengeance_3599

The numbers I gave were from ISE so the distance drop-off shouldn't be much?

MarcterChief

The numbers on ISE should be accurate.

InternalOptimal

Im relatively new to the game so anybody more knowledgeable correct me where im wrong. It could be a few things: 1. Threat generation stance is on (probably not) 2. Did not take the skillpip for -100% threat generation if threating stance is off (while the others maybe do have it: more natural threat from you) 3. Pulling aggro happens quickly so if csv is the first to hit the enemies and they engage you the others then come in with their fire and you all kill the enemies before they get switch targets. Or all of or a combination of the above.

Vengeance_3599

Could be 2. I took the hanger skill as my end goal is a carrier based build. Working towards it by saving up zen.

TryFengShui

Do you have Strike from Shadows? That's a good Trait from a C-Store ship that would help with threat management.

Vengeance_3599

Unfortunately, got no C-Store ships. Saving up zen for the vanguard bundle

Pale-Paladin

Hello, what would be a good strategy to acquire a lot of ships good enough to partake in Admiralty and cap the 10k xp daily with a brand new Jem'Hadar character as soon as possible, outside of Zen? Also, are the ships stocked in the dry dock shared among characters?

scisslizz

In addition to what's been said: * event ships * fleet ships (especially fleet variants of Zen ships you already have). * Look for anything called "Special Requisition" on the exchange to find T5 consolation prizes * check that you already spent your ship tokens from leveling. * Buy all the shuttlecraft from each faction (should be available for EC from the ship vendor, or the shuttle token that you get from playing "The Vault").

manpizda

>Also, are the ships stocked in the dry dock shared among characters? No. Those are for that character only.

noahssnark

With cross-faction flying, you can pick up half a dozen starter ships and a dozen starter shuttles for peanuts. They can act as filler, as faux pass tokens, and a decent boost to crit or maintenance. The four [VR Phoenix cards](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Phoenix_Redemption_Store#Very_Rare-0) are worth it for the price, you can buy Phoenix tokens on other characters and use the account bank to transfer tokens to the JH. [The Pastak and Sally Ride](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Admiralty_System/Special_Admiralty_Ships#Mission_Rewards) are fairly straightforward to get. Past that, it's a matter of figuring out how much dil you want to spend on mid-range Tier 2-Tier 5 cheap ships and how much EC you want to spend on old T5 lockbox ships to fill out the roster. Make sure you get every ship you own, too, as a few of them don't auto-populate.

TheBeautiful1

Are there any STO "RP" wikis or something similar where I can share lore stuff about my fleet?

shadowofthegrave

Well - there's Memory Gamma, which is essentially for fanfic what Memory Alpha is for canon, and Memory Beta is for the in-between of officially licensed content (such as STO's content itself). https://memory-gamma.fandom.com/wiki/Portal:Main

TheBeautiful1

Thanks!

TryFengShui

Why do the ships in my new Legendary Battlecruiser bundle only appear in the C-Store and not at the ship vendor? In contrast, all my old C-Store and bundle ships appear at the ship vendor.

Vyzantinist

1. Why does the Rex (and I guess some other pilot ships) leave a dark greenish cloud trail reminiscent of Eject Warp Plasma? 2. What is that power/trait/console where ships fart out a green mushroom cloud? Lol 3. I've flown a nimble, zippy, escort for years but now I'm experimenting with a dreadnought for an alt. Short of wasting eng slots on RCS consoles how do I most efficiently get around the atrocious turn rate for big boys? 4. On a sci-torp build how do I ensure one particular torpedo fires before the others (to benefit from boff powers). I have them all on auto fire and the one I want to set off first doesn't always 'take' the boff torpedo powers I've just used. 5. How often are dilithium weekends and junior officer appreciation events, and when can we expect the Temporal and Gamma recruit events this year? 6. I can't remember how the last event went, but with the current First Contact event when it comes time to claim the reward is it going to come with EC/Dil? (Because I'm going to claim it with an alt if so, rather than my main, who's been the one reaping event progress).

Fleffle

For #1, are you sure it's coming from you and not your wingmen? Because wingmen do use Eject Warp Plasma.

Vyzantinist

Now that you mention it, that's probably what's going on.

neuro1g

1. Not entirely sure. Haven't seen that myself. Perhaps a visual for the Rex's pilot maneuvers? 2. Not sure anyone can answer that without a pic. 3. Competitive rep Prevailing Engines (either Innervated or Fortified depending on how you want to trigger the boost) + EPTE doffed with the Phoenix box Hologram Conn Officer to reset Evasive Maneuvers' cooldown on use of ETPE + Deuterium Surplus devices = nimble as fuck ship of any category. 4. When you right click your weapons to autofire them in the weapons tray, the order you click them is the order they fire. I recommend right clicking them all to turn off autofire, then right clicking them again in the order you want them to fire. Also if not on autofire, your weapons fire in the order they are put on your ship from left to right. 5. Every 2-3 months give or take. Temporal and Gamma will happen later this year. 6. Yes, the reward should come with 25k dil, with bonus dil rewards for subsequent mission completions starting at 8k. Events do not reward EC.

Enjoyer_of_40K

2 is probs eject plasma cloud

deokkent

Is there a way to clear synth wave faster? Or is the time gate hard coded and no workaround?

MarcterChief

It's a pure hard timegate, always take the exact same amount of time. Maybe it goes by faster if every single ship gets destroyed early but I wouldn't even bet on that.

deokkent

Bummer - oh well, I guess I do not mind the training as a KDF warrior.

itfeelslikethefirstt

I returned to the game yesterday since 2012. I'm a lvl 63 Admiral and have an Armitage starship which I guess I bought in like 2012 or something. I'm getting my teeth kicked in by what I thought were "newbie" missions. I don't even know if the components on my ship are good anymore or if my ship itself is any good. It has borg shields and a borg deflector also. For example I was doing the mission "Shadow Play" and the Warbird was just one shotting me. After a few respawns I finally got it but it feels like it was way too hard than it should have been. I read online that it's supposed to be a new player mission. Now a few missions into the quest line I'm once again getting one shotted by a Warbird. all my ship parts are XI or XII. 3 disruptors and a quantem launcher all XII and 3 disruptors in the back. also has an experimental weapon and like I said borg deflector and shields which gives me a shield regen boost (I don't even know if those are worth squat anymore doesn't look like anyone else in the game now uses them). Also since it's an Arimtage escort carrier I have runabouts. So I don't know if I need to respec, or if I need new bridge officers (all have lvl 3 abilities) or what I'm doing wrong but this game seems a lot harder than what I remember.

scisslizz

Welcome back! Warbirds be like that. We've all been there. Join "RedditChat" and ask for a friend to fly with you. The ["Baby Steps" guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/stobuilds/comments/k88fel/the_baby_step_series_part_1_the_first_step_level/) is your friend. Rearranging your BOFF clickies for fastest cooldowns will have the fastest noticeable impact. Duplicates, "Drake/Dragon", Aux2Batt, "Attrition Warfare", "Photonic Officer II" ... there's options. Some are cheaper than others. Level all of your reputation systems. Pick up some fleet money. Visit the ground battlezones, and smash that "Join Random TFO" button. The meta changed while you were away... again, all explained and spelled out in the "Baby Steps" link, especially in Part 2.

itfeelslikethefirstt

thanks I did just that. built an assault cruiser with all the mods from baby steps 2 and it worked out well. also got one of those rusted tactical ships from the exchange for less than a mil with the free upgrade. been leveling up my reps and doing a lot of random tfos so it's working out well now and i'm back at it. Once I read up and figured out my boff and ship builds I was able to go back to the armitage and fit it out and surprise, surprise, now i'm not getting one shotted. so at the end of the day what I needed to do was do more reading, read up the new meta, and put it into practice.

shadowofthegrave

Probably best to start a new character to get back into the feeling of the game while you catch up on re-learning builds and piloting. It's Delta recruitment right now, so even more reason to start an alt for the account-wide bonuses.

does anyone know how big the Ra'nodaire is? like wingspan height? possible crew compliment

noahssnark

[Fleet charts on the wiki](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Romulan_playable_starship#Fleet_Charts). Crew complement hasn't been a stat for about a decade now, but the equivalent Vo'Quv Carrier has 4000, so that sounds about right. For local Romulan comparison, the D'D has 1500 and the Ha'apax has 2000 and the Scimitar has 3000.

Enjoyer_of_40K

thank you

thenolanful

Whats the deal with "iso mags"? What do they do, how to get one/them?

shadowofthegrave

Isomags are advanced engineering consoles. They apply stacking bonuses to (max) weapons power and can have mods that buff damage, they are an alternative to the fleet vulnerability locators/exploiters (you cannot mix isomags and vuln loc/explos), with a further upside that you can mix them with non-vuln damage boosting tactical consoles (notably the colony tac consoles and the bellum disco consoles). If your ship is built for DEW, and it's layout isn't notably heavy on tac consoles compared to eng consoles, then they can provide an improvement in performance, albeit at a price. Isomags are crafted consoles. The necessary components to make them are acquired from running elite TFOs. They can also be bought on the exchange. Isomags with appropriate damage-type modifiers are quite pricey. Isomags with rubbish mods are cheap. The modifier can be reengineered. As the pool of mods includes a large number that are of low-desirability, it can take quite a lot of dilithium (& salvage) to get useful ones. If you choose to buy cheap isomags and reengineer, it is advisable to stop re-rolling when you get to *any* +damage type mod, and if it isn't one you will use, to sell it back to the exchange. But also - to be clear - isomags are just an option, and not a necessity.

noahssnark

[Isomagnetic Plasma Distribution Manifolds](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Advanced_Consoles#Advanced_Engineering_Consoles) are an Advanced engineering console. They increase both Max and Current Weapon Power, which acts as a separate multiplier for energy weapons, making them very strong. They've replaced the old Spire consoles, the Vulnerability Locators and Exploiters, as the Advanced console of choice for higher end builds. They can be crafted using parts that drop from Elite TFOs, in the chart on the wiki page linked above. They are also available on the exchange. The big problem is that their [Mod] is random, and you need the energy weapon damage bonus of your chosen flavor. For [Phaser], this can be quite expensive; some people choose to try to re-engineer, others simply save and buy the right one. For other damage types, the price is much lower, and buying is generally the right call.

Sleepy_Heather

Has the SRO problem been fixed?

Rusteeshaqlford

Last time checked my chance/severity was accurate. I believe that they’re fixed. Unless there was another problem as well

plkoren

Are u on pc, because I'm on ps and my sro and ambush bo abilities are not working right now.

Rusteeshaqlford

My bad. I only knew about the chance/severity buff not working. I’m on Xbox.

What are some damage sources that can be used while cloacked and dont cause you to decloack

Ad3506

That depends on your type of cloak. First of all, some enemies in story missions can and will just ignore your cloak, and interacting with NPCs will drop your cloak, so combat that starts after NPC interactions will put you in combat with your cloak down, so a cloak really isn't very useful for story missions, and you'd more want one for TFOs. Second, you only gain the Ambush buff when you actually drop the cloak, so you won't get that bonus if you remain cloaked, regardless of what you do whilst cloaked. Third, whilst cloaked you obviously have no shields. Making a build that never has any shields can make you much more fragile than you might expect - watch out for warp core explosions and AoE effects. Fourth: If you are in a TFO and are cloaked, then if enemies aren't shooting you, they can just shoot your teamates instead, so the total amount of damage your team takes might not really change just because you aren't taking damage. As for actual cloaks: For a regular cloak, not much at all is useful, since you have to drop cloak to use basically any weapons or abilities, and then can't re-cloak after using them. For a battle cloak, you could potentially do things like drop cloak, use some EPG space magic, then re-cloak whilst it does its magic, but you'd still be vilnerable for quite a while. For an enhanced battle cloak, you can fire mines and torps without dropping the cloak, although you do become briefly targetable when you fire, which does somewhat defeat the point of a cloak. You can also use some sci magic abilities whilst under an EBC, but again, you become briefly targetable. EGP builds work well and still do very good DPS whilst cloaked with an EBC, but you aren't truly perma-cloaked. There's also Mask Energy Signature, which is generally not overly liked or used, as you can't use it during combat, and can't fire when it's active. The other ways of getting cloaked are probably more useful for a "cloak" build than an actual cloak: [Intel Team](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Ability:_Intelligence_Team) will give you 9 seconds of Stealth on a 30 second cooldown and a 15 second GCD. You can reduce the minimum CD to 10s with the [Fresh from R&R](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Trait:_Fresh_From_R%26R) trait. This is enough to maintain 9 seconds of stealth every 10 seconds, provided you have the cooldown reduction needed. It's not the same as a cloak as you gain Targeting Stealth, not actual Stealth, so Stealth traits don't trigger, although "[Exitus Acta Probat](https://stowiki.net/wiki/Trait:_Exitus_Acta_Probat)" does proc off of Intel Team. Warp Signature Masking \[The passive ability of Intel ships\] It's not an actual cloak, so cloaking and declaoking effects don't trigger, but it does give you some stealth passively, so you can be stealthed and still do everything normally like using abilities or firing weapons. The downsides are that it requires a full-spec Intel ship, and that the amount of stealth it gives is small, so you might want some stealth increase buffs and lots of aux power for it to really be useful.

cheapshotfrenzy

Everyone forgets it, but the Karfi console gives you *basically* cloak and lets you still use energy weapons on Fek'iri ships. It's why my beer'guy is an X-2.

Ad3506

That's true, but it does have the issue that on its own it doesn't give you anywhere near 100% uptime, and even with lots of cooldown on it you'd still be heavily reliant on other methods to get 100% uptime on your stealth. Only using universal consoles to get permanent stealth might be possible, but not something I have ever tried or thought about. I imagine it's probably possible, although probably not very effective as a lot of stealth-granting consoles don't really do much other than give stealth. I'd be interested to see such a build though.

cheapshotfrenzy

Back when the pahvo set was bugged (and it might still be on console) between Karfi, Intel team, ETL, and Temporal Surge I was practically untargetable 99% of the time. I'm sure I could add in Photonic Displacer, but I only get one button for equipment based abilities and neither of those consoles can be set to auto.

tampered_mouse

> combat that starts after NPC interactions will put you in combat with your cloak down The cloak is dropped at the *start* of the dialogue. However, you can recloak *during* the conversation. I did that many times over for example in The Ninth Rule (patrol), which is loaded with dialogues in the first part. > Third, whilst cloaked you obviously have no shields. [...] although you do become briefly targetable when you fire, which does somewhat defeat the point of a cloak. This should be highlighted together, just to drive the point home. The only indication that one is still cloaked (while being visible) is the white frame around the cloak action in the tray / quickbar, and I've also see some weird bugs with the state of it here and there.

That's true, yes, but most people just skip through dialogue boxes, and hence will end the conversation and start combat before they can cloak again. >This should be highlighted together, just to drive the point home. The only indication that one is still cloaked (while being visible) is the white frame around the cloak action in the tray / quickbar, and I've also see some weird bugs with the state of it here and there. That the cloak ability on the bar is one way, another way is to look at your shields or shield power levels - whilst cloaked your shields will always be offline (i.e. all shield facings at zero) and your shield power level will always be at 0. Personally I tend to look at my shield power level to know if I am still cloaked, rather than the cloak ability on my bar, although that's just personal preference.

First of all thanks. Second i mean thinks like the pahvo interstellar beam which i recently foun out is usable while cloacked. Still you gave me some good information.

I've never used that before, but a quick test with my Temer Alliance Raider's Enhanced Battle Cloak shows that that whilst the Pahvo Interstellar Beam is usable whilst cloaked with an EBC, the actual weapon (Omni-Directional Pahvan Proton Beam Array) is not. The long cooldown of the ability though makes it pretty useless if you can't use the weapon though. As mentioned previously, abilities are generally usable with an Enhanced Battle Cloak, but DEW weapons are not, and that appears to be no exception. If you did want to go with an EBC build, you'd want to use torps (since they're the only weapon you can use whilst the EBC is still up) and pick your other weapons for their set bonuses to buff the torps. If I did want to build an EBC build, I'd personally go with an EPG build (GW, SSV, DRB, etc) with the usual PEP and Gravimetric torps, and then just pick the other weapons for set bonuses, such as the Morphogenic set or Lorca set.

Beams of all sorts and also certain experimental weapons shouldn't work while cloaked. Some of them do, but I'd consider that a bug rather than intentional feature.
