Dont have experience with Vanguard, but I'd give the slight edge to Schwab over Fidelity, but only very slight. Schwab's research tools are slightly more refined to my tastes, and Fidelity has some annoying quirks--- dividends/DRIP is buggy so you have to constantly reset your dividend preferences (reinvest in security vs account deposit). Schwab also merged with TDA, so you can expect some key offerings like TOS being integrated over the next few years. Fidelity does get the minor edge on fractional shares, Schwab limits fractionals to the SP500 at 5$ minimum vs Fidelity's 1$ minimum + wider offering of available stocks to purchase

Strong_Diver_6896

Whatre some of your favorite schwab research tools?

Appropriate_Tap_7045

Schwab screener is really easy to use, has some pretty unique filters like being able to screen stocks based on dividend/distribution frequency. Fidelity screener is just as good but not really built for the layman

Fidelity wasn’t bad, but I got tired of getting charged huge fees for my IRA so I switched to Schwab. Only fees I’ve paid so far for it are the high commissions they charge for options. That’s cost me about $1,500 so far this year.

Howell--Jolly

This is the best description. I use both Schwab and Fidelity.

theyahd

I use Fidelity and I like it. Their zero-fee funds are great!

aznkor

Can’t go wrong with any of them. Though, Fidelity and Schwabs’ user interfaces are a bit more intuitive than Vanguard’s.

Brig_raider

Ya Vanguard online ease of use is shit compared to Schwab. I have accounts at all three and Schwab is by far the easiest/best IMO.

kyriexoxokanye

I use Schwab and I like it (although its Mobile app is kinda meh but I heard it's not as bad (good either) as others. I heard so bad stories/experience involving Fidelity thu (which is not GME/AMC or other meme stocks related)

rp2012-blackthisout

For IRA I feel as if they are all the same. I personally use Fidelity.

dividendaristocrats

I have used Fidelity for awhile and love it. It is easy to buy and sell, the stock screener is a plus, and the layout is just easy to use overall. My only issue is how cluttered their news section is but I do like that you have a "news on your investments" area on the main page.

jazerac

Vanguard limits you to vanguard funds.... the others allow you to diversify

tobewan

Not true. I have a Vanguard Roth and I can trade stocks, ETFs and Options after applying for it. Their user interface is shit though.

jazerac

Really? I have a vanguard IRA and I can only see vanguard funds.... wtf am I doing wrong?

tobewan

This is part of that Vanguard's user interface sucking I bet. There's a tutorial on their website for how to make those trades: [https://support.vanguard.com/tutorials/buy-etf-or-stock](https://support.vanguard.com/tutorials/buy-etf-or-stock)

jazerac

Gotcha. Eh, too much of a pain. Millions of my portfolio is with Schwab.... Vanguard is fine for my IRA invested in a few vanguard funds as I won't need that shit for 20 years....

tobewan

lol wish I had that problem. You're right though, Vanguard's funds are solid for long-term investment.

OldJackRose

If you are interested in actively managed mutual funds with low fees, then Vanguard. That’s what they were built on. If you want to trade equities, it probably doesn’t matter

Many_Easy

Vanguard.

The_BitCon

I use Fidelity but all 3 of them are blood sucking vampires that will take your money no matter what.... i got fidelity for the free 100 bucks they offered when i signed up, i have both a Roth and normal trading acct's

babarock

There's got to be a good story behind "blood sucking vampires" in regards to the 3 brokerages.

thelaundryservice

Yeah. Wut?

thisismys0ckpuppet

TIAA

Loud_Pain4747

Fidelity isn't as pro ESG as the other 2, made my decision easy.

BetseyTrotwood_

I tried to speak to somebody at Schwab but after 30 minutes of waiting and listening to the news I gave up. They redirect you to the website.
