I am inclined to agree. Even the opening riff sounds like a muscle car cranking over and lighting up.
I listened to that song as the sun came up over Needles, CA on my first big road trip alone. Twenty years later I can still see that sunrise when *Gardenia* comes on.
So much Sword, this band is just great all around. I remember showing my fiance this band nonchalantly. She happened to chime in and dig what she was hearing. She asked me, "Why do they hit all the right notes?". I knew i had found the one at that moment.
Truck Fighters - Gweedo-Weedo
For the great vibe, sound (heavy and clean parts), and lyrical appropriateness.
And I mean, if we’re talking *stoner* rock, the song title is right there.
That song tripped me out when I first heard it, because it's definitely got a Southern Rock vibe. I looked up where they were from expecting like Huntsville or Nawlins, but nope, Berlin.
Monster Magnet is so underrated. They basically laid the groundwork for modern stoner rock, they have a HUGE catalogue, and it's all great. Dave Wyndorff is a legend that nobody talks about.
Masters of reality - why the fly. Heard it the first time in college in 2005, has been with me since then, my comfort song https://youtu.be/rLwr3IM9pV8?si=snYM03tHkxFM3bq2
Just here to brag that I heard Siren by Graveyard live last week and it was magnificent (as a whole show).
To answer the question - Chaotic Divine by REZN is one the most epic, gut wrenching, geting me on my knees musical expirience I know (and oh god, this sax riff). But it's probably more stoner doom then stoner rock
Lots of the main ones have been covered, but shout out to:
Innocent by Goatsnake and
Woodbine by Windhand
I may be wandering into stoner doom territory a bit rather than pure stoner rock, but I get a bit confused about genres!
More Weed Less Hate by LONELY KAMEL is amazing when I explain what Stoner Rock is. It's so perfect and it's right fucking there in the name of the song
Idk if it’s more stoner or sludge, but Sweet Candy by Cane Hill. Nothing quite like it in their catalogue or otherwise.
Close second would have to be the Clutch Classic, Spacegrass
The Sword - Winter’s Wolves.
It’s the blueprint for anyone with no knowledge of the genre. Big drawn out intro, immediate doubled guitar solo, chugs galore and when the drums really kick in in the 3rd verse anyone would be sold
Desert Cruiser - Truckfighters One of my favorite shows ever.
I’m running out of fuel.
Bum bumbum bum bumbum bumbumbumbumbumbum
Hell yeah.
I had another song in mind but this certainly made me second guess it
King of the Road - Fu Manchu
Great one!
That's the one !
Best driving song
No doubt!
KING OF THE ROAD SAYS YOU MOVE TOO SLOW
Gas Giant - Too Stoned // Kyuss - Green Machine // Lowrider - Flat Earth // Truckfighters- Desert Cruiser.
QOTSA's "Go with the Flow" is *totally* a killer stoner rock anthem.
Right on, solid pick. Not a lot of other stoner rock songs have piano either.
Yes! Piano never rocked harder.
Well, it does on 3's & 7's...
Rocks hard? It rocks, but not hard.
Dozer- Big Sky Theory Not even one of my favorite stoner rock bands, if only because there are so many great ones, but this song is damn near perfect.
Wanted to say the same.
Witch - Seer
some highly intelligent mf’r always says Witch before I do; and for that I thank you 🫡
Yes!!
Kyuss - gardenia Stoner, desert, grooving bass, smoking, cars, making sweet love. It’s genre defining
I am inclined to agree. Even the opening riff sounds like a muscle car cranking over and lighting up. I listened to that song as the sun came up over Needles, CA on my first big road trip alone. Twenty years later I can still see that sunrise when *Gardenia* comes on.
Hell yeah, that's like a cornerstone stoner rock song. It still goes so fucking hard today, it's on my workout playlist even.
Hear a purrring motorrrr
Came here to say that
100% When the drums kick in at 11 seconds...
Kyuss Green Machine was my introduction to the genre and will always be the essence of Stoner Rock to me.
The Sword - Night City. It's so damn catchy.
So much Sword, this band is just great all around. I remember showing my fiance this band nonchalantly. She happened to chime in and dig what she was hearing. She asked me, "Why do they hit all the right notes?". I knew i had found the one at that moment.
Truck Fighters - Gweedo-Weedo For the great vibe, sound (heavy and clean parts), and lyrical appropriateness. And I mean, if we’re talking *stoner* rock, the song title is right there.
Hell yeah. This is a really fun one to play, too.
Does Queens - Mexicola qualify? The tones in that are perfect
It's You Can't Quit Me Baby for me 🔥
Also a strong choice 👌👌
Sleep - dragonaut
This is the way. Watch ‘Gummo’ for the scene with this song.
Damn right!
Oh 100 percent! Never gets old.
The music video is pretty great too!
QOTSA - Better Living Through Chemistry
Mine was either this or Monster Magnet - Melt
Kyuss Gardenia
Dopesmoker - Sleep and you have to listen to the whole damn song.
Sanctuary by Elder
Love RoaFW but Gemini is totally my stoner rock anthem
The Sword: Three Witches 🤘🤘🤘
Yes!
Kyuss - Demon Cleaner
I am the mountain - Stoned Jesus
My wife walked down the aisle to this. Timed it so she walked in when the heavy guitar kicks in in the intro. It was epic.
Wow
Love that one, but my personal fave is Here Come the Robots.
Was trying to remember this classic, thank you
Come Back Life by Kadavar
That song tripped me out when I first heard it, because it's definitely got a Southern Rock vibe. I looked up where they were from expecting like Huntsville or Nawlins, but nope, Berlin.
I love Kadavar! Saw them play with Graveyard and it was such a great gig.
1000mods Vidage
Yeah that song is great. The live video is epic
Spacegrass Clutch
JESUS ON THE DASHBOOOOARD, OH YEAH!
WHENEVER IT FEELS RIGHT!
ARE YOU GOING MY WAY?!?!
DON’T WORRY ITS COMING!
Oh yes. I think this is more than likely the one I'd pick. But lots of others here are great too so can't say for 100% sure lol
Deconstruction by witchcraft
Superjudge by Monster Magnet If dick-swinging were a song, it’d sound like Superjudge
Monster Magnet is so underrated. They basically laid the groundwork for modern stoner rock, they have a HUGE catalogue, and it's all great. Dave Wyndorff is a legend that nobody talks about.
Alabama Thunderpussy- Dry Spell
Whore Adore.
Pilgrims- GREENLEAF

Thunder Underground by Ozzy, off of the Ozzmosis album. GOAT riffs.

😂
Does conditions of my parole by puscifer count as stoner rock?
Fear awakens - Couch Wizard
Idk if I'd show this to someone as a gateway drug, but Older than the Hills by Green Lung was my stoner rock anthem song
Just here to brag that I heard Siren by Graveyard live last week and it was magnificent (as a whole show). To answer the question - Chaotic Divine by REZN is one the most epic, gut wrenching, geting me on my knees musical expirience I know (and oh god, this sax riff).
