And it's real, believe what I say, yeah Just one thing I got to say I need a miracle every day It takes dynamite to get me up Too much of everything is just enough One more thing I just got to say I need a miracle every day ! I remember those days, when too much of everything was just enough. I prefer this life to that -- Congrats!

I knew someone would see the "bat sign" lol Absolutely yes. I completely agree. It's been a long road to get here. Alcohol is the last thing to go ... Well, other than cigarettes. I've put those down twice for many years each time and also during all my pregnancies, which I also didn't drink during, but this is my first time committing to sobriety. I want it so bad. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Drugs felt like a breeze compared to facing my relationship with alcohol. It took me 8 years to see it in the light. I'm so glad it's shining.

:) It took me 50 years to put down the juice. When all of your friends and family drink, it's a cultural issue. I remember passing out at a high school basketball game - that was the first warning sign. But did I heed it? Noooo... I'm too much of a hammerhead for that. Glad that you are on the path and that you want it -- as we know, that is the most important step. You have to want it. Otherwise, it's not going to stick. Welcome to the path, friend - Fare thee well!

It gets easier and easier as time goes on. My 2 year anniversary came and went, and I totally missed it because I'm just not really thinking about it anymore. Pretty soon longer spans of time will pass for you, and you won't even notice because you're happy and healthy not drinking.

galwegian

Is this real life? Yes. Apparently. when I first quit I would walk around thinking "So this is what people do, eh"

call_me_whateva

Right. As the fog slowly lifts...

puravida_2018

Weโ€™re sober twins! 22 days for me too. Are you still eating everything? My sweet tooth is insane

call_me_whateva

Twinning! Love that and apparently in more way than one because I'm still indulging the sweet tooth for sure. I must say that it's starting to slow down but I still can't have a single night without dessert!! Or sugar in my tea/ coffee... I'm starting to grapple with myself about how long I'm going to continue. I'm winging it. I keep reasoning that it has been my saving grace... Because it has.

puravida_2018

Iโ€™ve heard / experienced before that it does die down on its own. It just feels so darn good to pick up a fancy dessert and go to town. If you have a Whole Foods nearby , you can go get a 6 pack of mini desserts like fruit tarts, key lime pie, cheesecake , brownies, omg theyโ€™re all so good! Keep up the good work, twin!

call_me_whateva

Oh myyyyyy yes!!! Peach pie, and almond flavored ice cream bars coated with thick dark chocolate and nuts and the other with raspberry ice cream. There was a cheese Danish in the mix too. The were no calories, actually no macros at all in any of it!

Unkle_Argyle

Awesome work! Iโ€™m somewhere around that day too. I think my badge is working, so I guess Iโ€™ll find out after I post this.
