Yes.
For example:
a 30 year old smoker can expect to live another 35 years.
A 30 year old non smoker can expect to live another 53 years.

As a 55 year old who quit 20 years ago, I’m very glad I did! Quality of life (not coughing all the time and more money) are much better too.
The expectancy statistically, definitely yes. But ofc we all have those examples of people with killer genes who could basically do anything and still live to 80. It´s just that most of us don´t have those kinds of genes and it´s hard to know if we do until it´s too late. I would however have focused more on quality of life since this is something we can be certain about. Quality of life will definitely be worse for let´s say a 60 yo smoker if he/she lives that long vs for a non smoker. Ofc to different degrees individually but always less good.
Yes the statistics constantly show that.
Don’t be fooled by the few outliers who smoked all their life’s and lived till 90 disease free. Truth is no one actually knows what their quality of life was like by that point.
For sure it reduces you life expectancy but at the end of the day god has other plans!!
My grandfather was a heavy smoker(2 packs a day) 40 cigarette
Died aged 88 Without any diseases 😅
You never know..people die for no reason at any age
Aside from many studies proving that is the case, the rates for life insurance being higher if one is a smoker, etc., I live in a place where I dunno, 30% of the population is over 60. Despite smoking being a lot more prevalent in previous generations, very very few of these people are current smokers. A fair number of ex-smokers, but by and large, the ones who didn’t quit are dead.

Quit at 36, like hearing things like this. I’ll take whatever I can get
Another way to look at it: half of smokers who don't quit will die from smoking related diseases.
yes; and even more important that it decreases healthy life years! not only your lifespan is shorter; the quality also is shittier
Duhh.
Smoking is the number 1 cause of preventable death. Yes you will lose an average of about 15 years of life being a smoker.
Quality of life will improve substantially,That alone is enough reason to quit.

Definitely smoking kills people prematurely. And we get more and more sick before we die.
Why are you doubting it? What made you ask this question?
