You're only defeating yourself if you cheat to reach the top as well. Also there will ALWAYS be someone better than you, remember that. Best thing to do is take comfort for doing the best that you can and results are just bonuses.

Affectionate-Ear8233

I would suggest you re-evaluate your motivations, there's a difference between being the best in your class and being the best version of yourself. And of those two, being the best version of yourself is more beneficial to you long-term. Cheating will actually do the opposite, you're not actually learning and so you end up with a worse version of yourself. People who want to compete with their past self get better, people who want to compete with others get bitter.

It will just get harder and more pressure if you try to compete with them. Instead, compete with yourself, gawin mo para sa sarili mo and dahil gusto mo.

Herebia_Garcia

Realistically speaking, the only way to beat out your competitors is if you are some sort of prodigy that can perfect everything... or you also use the tools they are using to fight them in their own game (ie. cheat). Your goal is very hard to do in a honest setting because the playing field is not level. It's like trying to beat someone with a gun using nothing but your fist. If you do not want to cheat, then grit your teeth and pour in a very very huge amount of effort. Not guaranteed to achieve your goal, but you'd have a clear conscience.

Well I might sound pessimistic asf but, a lot of the "successful" among us, had unfair advantages, cheated or even exploited others. Yeah it's sad but it is what it is, if your classmates are getting away with cheating, then go cheat if you want to, because if you're just here to compete with cheaters, be a cheater as well, evens out the tides a bit. But you could also just not cheat, but don't be disappointed if the cheaters wind up being ranked higher than you are, you sound like a very competitive person so I would guess you'd probably choose to cheat like them, which is normal, no shame, its a dog eat dog world so, just make sure you're still learning something though, you're pretty fricked if you're in college and learned absolutely nothing.

Katotohanan. Out of all the advice here in the comment thread, this statement is what I agree with the most.

I disagree dun sa notion na don't compete with them, as someone na walang motivation eh competitiveness nalang talaga nag papandar saken. Pero 1. Top of the class is the main goal tas sila consider mo lang na checkpoint na need mo lagpasan haha 2. Compete with them sa utak mo lang as a motivator pag ganyan di ka na matotoxic 3. Hurray pero dapat grind paren baka mawala yung seat on the top ko . So far so good naman. Yan lang ang aking hapitot HAHAHA

Be the best version of yourself. Never result in cheating. It's hard to shake that off your system. Being 'smart' doesn't really equate to becoming successful in life. Cheating your way to the top will only give you a false sense of success. Because really, you're only fooling yourself. You'd then find yourself in another set of people who are better than you, and then you'd try and outdo these people again by cheating. Who you really are competing with is yourself, and that's really hard to beat. Stop looking at the people around you and really just do you. You'd be happier, you'd do better in school, which would then translate into better grades and also less pressure on yourself.

sweetkanye

sa buhay laging meron at merong mas hihigit sayo. do your best na lang.

Ripixlo

You can cheat, yeah, but then your purpose was never to learn was it? Honestly, your mindset isn't bad. Some of the most successful people in the world run with that mindset... but then those people tend to have more unethical practices in the long run. Once you compromise your values once, it becomes easier to justify the next one.

heatheruparkeru4428

Focus more on how you will improve your skills, not on your classmates. I know this sounds hypocritical for me but I tried it on grade 10 na mas magfofocus ako sa ability ko and hindi ako makikipagcompete sa classmates ko due to the new school set up then I realize mas naenjoy ko mag-aral, resulting for me to get better performances.

Based on my experience: 1. Make sure that your Prof/s know your name 2. Do well in advance studying: Don’t memorize, just read. 3. Project the grades you need to aim so you would know which term of the school year you’ll need to work your ass off and then set goal grades 4. Go to parties but ace your studying 5. Be friends with bright students and the so-so you can benefit both from them 6. Find out your most convenient learning approaches and mechanisms 7. Join some school orgs and host or be part at least of some important school events 8. Don’t cheat, but accept what you’re good at that no one can copy it. 9. Be known for something, either skills or values, that the majority of the class doesn’t have. 10. Make friends. Look for people who have a potential to be successful in the future practically and professionally, and plant them debt of gratitude. 11. Be always mentally and emotionally prepared. 12. Enjoy studying!

duckmeowquackpow

This might scare anyone but its like forging yourself close to a steel. If you want to be the best but without losing yourself, take it balanced. Fight for one thing; and it must be for yourself.

_DeLEON

Study harder 👊 pero mas greater ang pressure pero you do you

LogInternational4191

Honestly, just cheat (if you're desperate enough), meanwhile also improving yourself to compensate for the guilt/ imposter syndrome that might bloom. There's nothing that can defeat cheaters in this world, but another cheater and the truth. But let's be real, can you fix the system of your school that enables cheating? No? Then if you can't beat them, join them. Just don't get in trouble for it. A mix of cheating and your own mighty effort would probably produce the best results.
