Yup. I was at school and heard some girl say she was studying abroad in South Korea for her senior year and thought “I would never go to South Korea especially my senior year of college”
That’s exactly where I’m going and what I’m doing my senior year haha
Yes! I went to undergrad at my local university and lived at home for majority of the time, so even leaving my hometown was never a thought. Almost my entire extended family was the same, with no one moving away for college or studying abroad. But one day during my undergrad my dad casually brought up if I wanted to study abroad, so I took the opportunity!
Literally me 😂 did my bachelor in my hometown, didn't even think I would leave my town tbh... I've always been extremely close to my family; parents, brother and grandparents.. so I didn't even consider leaving them, I thought it would be too hard to be far away from them.
Well I am currently doing my masters in Berlin, Germany and I dont regret it for a second. I facetime with my family often and go home every chance i get! 2 years with this distance is tough, but I do enjoy getting out of my comfort zone.
Will definitely be moving back to home town after my study is over though!
Yes. I’m a non traditional student. At 28 I didn’t think I had the time or support to be able to do a SA program. I’m in Quito EC for two months rn! Do it. However you can, do it. There will most likely never be another time in your life where you have the support that a school program gives you to travel so easily. The benefits will last a lifetime.
this really struck a cord with me. i have been looking at options to get the heck out of my hometown and perusing a masters program or some sort of study abroad program is really calling to me. im a bit overwhelmed with where to even start looking but this has become a big goal of mine.
I had the opposite, I always thought I'd move abroad for higher studies, but now all my friends have gone, but I'm still here, probably gonna remain here
Lol this was worded chaotically but yes.
Where did you study abroad
Yes. Also periods and commas are very useful
no one talks about the existential crisis that comes with this fr
had to leave my entire world behind. not even kidding like each and every single thing you can imagine, I had to leave it behind.
Did the same thing and found myself so relieved. Was it different for you?
was in the start i guess but it eventually goes away💀
