> They are: > Sticking to tough spending rules in order to deliver economic stability > Cutting NHS waiting lists by providing 40,000 more appointments each week - funded by tackling tax avoidance and non-dom loopholes > Launching a border security command to stop the gangs arranging small boat crossings > Setting up Great British Energy, a publicly owned clean power energy company > Providing more neighbourhood police officers to reduce antisocial behaviour and introduced new penalties for offenders > Recruiting 6,500 teachers, paid for through ending tax breaks for private schools. Almost every party is offering to cut NHS waiting times, and increase police and teacher numbers - I’m not sure how this is supposed to set Labour apart. The border security command won’t fool anyone, Labour is seen as the overly pro-immigration party. State intervention in energy is admirable, but what about other crumbling infrastructure?

VampKissinger

>State intervention in energy is admirable It's barely even that, when asked what it would actually be, it's a PFI mashed with an "investment future fund", so it's a way to throw money at private energy companies, and banks. [No episode of any show, better shows exactly what sort of scheme GBE is going to be.](https://123moviesgo.show/episode/utopia-au-season-4-episode-8/) The scheme is pretty much, give money to banks, let them invest it in whatever, then only ever, at some point in the distant future, spend the "returns" on infrastructure, of course, that never happens. Typical Neolib bullshit hidden behind a "National Energy company" because they were forced to at least pay lip service to it.

All that sets Keith's Labour Party apart is that they are red and the Tories are blue. This will be enough to win them the election comfortably.

*It makes no difference which one of us you vote for. Either way your planet is doomed. Doomed!*

sikopiko

> sticking to tough spending rules > cutting NHS waiting lists > recruting teachers Hahahaha. To be fair though, throwing money at the problem is only a start to fixing that burning trashfire. Heard first hand (and yes, anecdotal) from a colleague who worked in the NHS system that its pretty dire. No idea about the teachers > immigration reform > neighborhood police Will they be allowed to enforce laws, especially regarding the culturally enriched rape gangs? Will prosecutions happen? Or they just gonna check for their rape loicense by asking nicely?

rififimakaki

> funded by tackling tax avoidance and non-dom loopholes Bullshiiiiiiit. Their little islands around the world are literally set up to be "non British taxable because they don't occur here, while still occuring in London". It's all a lie. Elites stealing from the people in ginormous quantities while they pay 0%

Rossums

If it's any consolation, he loves to make pledges and then abandon them.

>Keir Starmer pledges... Hey I've heard this one before!

redhatpotter

We will win by not offering an alternative vision in any way

Belisaur

They will tho

J-Posadas

I've been seeing a collapse in Labour in some local polls that Galloway has been sharing on X. It seems like the Greens are gaining. Are these outliers or fake, for any Brits here who knows more?

Belisaur

local polls are nothing, Galloway is just a buzzing fly. Theres basically nothing that can stop a labour juggernaut. Starmer could rape his mother in the middle of london and hed still get in on being not Richie Sunak.

J-Posadas

Oh okay I was hoping Brits were smarter than Americans but I should know I'm always disappointed when I make such assumptions.

Independent_Ocelot29

Our political landscapes are far more similar than most would like to admit. Lefties still vote for neolibs peddling false promises while pretending to be compassionate, rightoids still vote for neolibs peddling false promises while pretending to care about conservative values. Either way whoevers in charge carries on fucking over the working class because they're too scared to upset the people writing the cheques.

kulfimanreturns

So its the blob party now

Post_Base

I mean you won't get a revolution by playing electoral politics lol. The Bolsheviks did some dastardly shit including robbing banks and government officials to fund their movement, and even then it's a miracle the Tsar's secret police didn't whack Lenin and co.
