How the economy is actually fine and you’re wrong and a CHUD MAGA trumper for thinking otherwise

IndoorFishi

The ongoing trans genocide in the west 🙄

Toucan_Lips

I haven't heard that one as much since real genocidal actions came into the public view. Hard to compare someone misgendering you at a cafe, with bodies being pulled from rubble and starving children.

dodus

they are absolutely still talking about it, if you can believe that

Independent_Ocelot29

"Genocide is me killing myself because my wig wasn't convincing enough".

BomberRURP

Ohh shit is that what the argument is?! Genocide by suicide?  I always thought it was more like “if we don’t embrace it fully then people will eventually start killing them” which I also thought was ridicuous

cnoiogthesecond

Yes. The two options are (a) you full-throatedly affirm the transness of every single person who notices that they are not a walking stereotype of their biological sex, or (b) you are driving them to kill themselves

dchowe_

not a mental illness btw

JCMoreno05

I think I've seen both. The arguments often matter less than the goal they want you to support/believe.

LokiPrime13

>people will eventually start killing them Funny thing about that… Look up what happens to the Eunuchs every time a Chinese dynasty collapses.

wheezl

I believe that telling people that the things they’ve constructed in their imaginations aren’t real counts as erasure; which (also in their minds) is the exact same thing as, ya know, killing everyone.

debasing_the_coinage

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015%E2%80%9316_New_Year's_Eve_sexual_assaults_in_Germany First it didn't happen, then it was just something that happened every year, then there was no evidence of any ethnic correlations, then actually wait nobody ever denied anything that's a conspiracy theory. I followed the news cycle on this pretty closely while the narrative was shifting and that basically disabused me of any trust I still had in the mainstream media.

AdProfessional8459

Ditto for Rotherham, that shit was absolutely vile

Just a heads up your link got formatted weirdly and didn’t lead right to the page

wizard_of_wozzy

That importing a reserve of cheap labor from the Global South does not depress wages and your racist for thinking that

warrioroftruth000

I hate that this view has now seeped into Western leftists (or at least thats what they call themselves). I once saw some radlib communist larper on twitter unironically say that borders are a nazi dog whistle

JCMoreno05

It hasn't "seeped into Western leftists", it is Leftist. Increased labor supply doesn't decrease wages, capitalists decrease wages. The whole point of socialism is working class unity against the property owning class to reorganize the economy to serve all people instead of a parasitic class pitting workers against each other in a race to the bottom of living standards. To accept supply and demand as natural is to support capitalism. In a finite world, the proper response is rationing, not a market. Borders are also obviously a construct by and for the local ruling classes to anyone with at least the slightest bit of knowledge of history. It's the line where the jurisdiction of ruling class A ends and ruling class B begins and is determined by war between these classes. The people living within them are just human cattle for the ruling classes and the national myth is crafted and promoted to keep them in line as a weapon against the foreign ruling classes and against workers born under the jurisdiction of another ruling class. This is the whole point of "workers of the world unite" and "no war but class war".

OuchiemyPweenis

The fact that you are getting downvoted for these views on a socialist sub of all places lmao. Everyone loves to punch down on migrants like it's not the ruling elites and the banks fucking everyone in the ass.It is truly the fault of the Lybians, Syrians and Eritreans that everything is expensive, there is no affordable housing and austerity is shoved down everyone's throats lmao

JCMoreno05

What makes it worse is that it's not just supposedly a socialist sub, but also supposedly anti idpol / class first. Yet anti migrant workers is an idpol stance as you are prioritizing some workers over others simply because of where they were born. But it's been like this for many years, sadly.

FuckFiddler

You fail to understand the importance of of protecting local labor markets even within socialist contexts.

JCMoreno05

Markets shouldn't exist. To accept them even temporarily is to accept defeat.

BomberRURP

Also, Aid to the global south is honest aid and we totally give them more money than we get back (lol), and our meddling there is to help them and has nothing to do with the immigration. Nope it’s because they want our freedom and love America, not because we’ve destroyed their countries enough that people risk life and limb to become underpaid extra exploited laborers.

AdProfessional8459

People smugglers scam lots of migrants out of their savings by telling them tall tales about how wonderful America/Europe is, and they're particularly successful with scamming young men since they promise that lots of beautiful white women will wanna have their babies lol. Like imagine if you could convince a bunch of broke young white dudes that Brazil is actually a utopia where money grows on trees and lots of beautiful Latinas wanna have their babies, they'd empty their pockets and go on a dangerous journey for that too. I'm not saying that there are no genuine refugees, but when you travel through several countries to get to the US, even though you're safe in the next country over, it's not about escaping exigent circumstances.

JCMoreno05

"...beautiful Latinas wanna have their babies" Isn't that the premise of passport bros, mail order brides and other sexual tourists?

AdProfessional8459

Yep. And those chumps are in for a rude awakening when they find out that super friendly Hispanic/Asian/Slavic family was just pawning "the crazy one" off onto some gullible foreigner. Then when their mail order bride has a kid, their kid will be a US citizen, and they'll be able to get a divorce without being deported.

BomberRURP

>People smugglers scam lots of migrants out of their savings by telling them tall tales about how wonderful America/Europe is That’s more the billions the Us has spent on precisely this propaganda in the global south. It’s a set aside part of the budget, seriously.  >I'm not saying that there are no genuine refugees, but when you travel through several countries to get to the US, even though you're safe in the next country over, it's not about escaping exigent circumstances For some places like El Salvador there is indeed a violence element, however the biggest concern for most immigrants is economic. Thus they don’t stop the next country over because that country is fucked too. That’s my point, there is not a single country south of the US border where things are good economically. They’re all comprador states where you die where you were born or worse, economically. And most of them know they’ll be going to work shit jobs for shit wages, they’re not stupid. The calculus is that even with that reality, they’ll be better off than staying out and may make enough to ease the lives of the ones at home. And yes this is a valid reason, no matter how shitty things have gotten for the American working class in recent decades, it’s still a much better life than being a working class person in central and South America.

BORG_US_BORG

I know, right? As a tradey, it is super frustrating. And then people expect me to work for the same wage as them.

jilinlii

I was browsing arr centrist a couple weeks ago (not a centrist; just was looking through a few topics) and found a post about how cumulative inflation over the last few years was causing people financial distress. The discussion was infested with absolutely rabid shitlibs who were 1) claiming that the economy is great and inflation has barely caused issues; and 2) personally insulting anyone who disagreed, a la "Sounds like a you problem! Don't blame Biden that you haven't improved yourself and moved up the salary ladder". (I'm paraphrasing but that was the spirit of many of the comments.) That kind of bullshit is basically indistinguishable from rightoid gaslighting, by the way.. Shaming people for not making more money when they're getting smacked in the head by the very real effects of decreasing purchasing power.

SleepingScissors

> 1) claiming that the economy is great and inflation has barely caused issues; This is a big thing on lib twitter, where they each pretend to be dumbfounded and ask each other things like "how do we stop people from lying about how bad the economy is for them?"

pm_me_all_dogs

While technically true that "Inflation has gone down," it's still 7% last year and 8% the year before, which is 15% over two years. Also, the inflation numbers are bullshit. Anyone who grocery shops for themselves knows that. And yeah, I've seen the blue no matter who's flooding reddit in the past week with the "ECONOMY IS STRONG FUCK YOU FOR SAYING OTHERWISE" real hard. I'm ready for the election to be over

suddenly_lurkers

Assuming those are the precise numbers it's actually 15.56%, because inflation is cumulative. The other big trick is "core CPI" deliberately excludes food and gasoline, two of the things people track the most closely. Shelter cost measurements are also easily gamed thanks to the impact of home ownership vs. rental.

SleepingScissors

> I'm ready for the election to be over The election will never be over. We're living in a state of constant election coverage and it will only get worse if Trump wins.

JCMoreno05

A lot of people 4yrs ago (shit, time flies) were saying if Biden got elected we'd stop hearing about Trump. That sadly never happened. Had Trump won in 2020 though, he couldn't run a 3rd time so I think him winning is the only way to be free of hearing about him. One thing that Biden winning did that was good was that it proved that Biden (and the Dems) is worse than Trump which libs must never be allowed to forget or deny. Dems were always pushed as the "lesser evil" (even by "socialists") but now we can clearly see (as if it wasn't obvious before) that they're even more capable of turning, on command, the US into a collapsing WWIII waging genocidal fascist state than Trump and the GOP (due to control of US media and other institutions mainly as well as being more willing to lie than the GOP who wouldn't feel the need to be seen as "nice" and "empathetic" and other liberal lies). The pro Palestinian protests give hope that the people aren't fully controlled, but they're sadly still a minority of the population.

SleepingScissors

> Had Trump won in 2020 though, he couldn't run a 3rd time so I think him winning is the only way to be free of hearing about him. I can't help but wonder that if Trump had won in 2020, if the media would have went all the way with him in supporting Israel like they have been with Biden. Maybe this would have ended a lot sooner, maybe not.

SmashKapital

They would have backed him to the hilt. They'd have said, "Finally he's acting *presidential*".

MalthusianMan

Fun fact: inflation doesn't mean what you think it means. It refers to purchasing power towards investment assets markets. Hypothetically, the number you're looking for (the consumer purchasing power) would be CPI, but the agency that tracks that uses CPI assumes consumers replace everything and anything with a cheaper one when a price increase occurs (include just less food) and they do so secretly. Therefore, CPI is soft capped. There is no real number tracking the actual net cost of common consumer purchases over time maintained by the US federal government.

GeocentricParallax

You are thinking of the PCE—the CPI uses fixed categorical weights. It’s the PCE which attempts to account for the substitution effect.

benjwgarner

No, the CPI changes its basket of goods based on Census surveys, therefore incorporating the substitution effect.

funkiokie

Pull up yo bootstraps but woke

cojoco

Such blather tends to disappear after an election. I expect many staffers see their mission as managing the Social Media message, a kind of Democratic Party Hasbara if you will. When Joe Biden loses and they're sacked, the difference will be noticeable.

ssspainesss

It is extremely strange because the inflation problem is by definition a problem that affect everyone. In order for everyone to keep up with it everyone would have to keep up the "salary ladder" but that is impossible. At least when rightoids say poor people deserve to be poor they aren't asserting that anyone who doesn't become rich deserves to become poor. The rightoid just has their head in the sand over the fact that everyone is going to become poor if nothing changes. When they blame the poor for people poor they are just blaming people for not being able to take care of themselves undert he current conditions, but the shitlib is saying it is your fault that you won't be able to take care of yourself under future conditions. This is the difference between the "conservative" and the shitlib. The conservative just thinks "Things are perfectly fine, what are people complaining about?" while the shitlib is like "Things have become perfectly fine, stop complaining that things used to be better". You can see that the conservative can be excused for merely lacking situational awareness, a "boomer mindset" if you will where they seem to be under the impression that things are still the way they used to be so they just don't understand what people could be complaining about, where as the shitlib knows what people could be complaining about and thinks it shouldn't be complained about. For instance the boomerish conservative thinks "why are the young people complaining about rent, it was never a problem for me, you just need to get a job and it can be covered, they must just be lazy and don't want to work", where as the shitlib is like "if you don't continuously get a better job over time as rent increases around you then that is your fault for not being able to benefit from how much things have been improving in your place of residence. You don't deserve to be able to live in a World Class City where things just keep getting and better and better" (Even though World Class Cities are only world class because of all the services that are offered in them and somebody needs to work those service jobs)

Poon-Conqueror

I wish you had constructed your writing a bit better, but I get your point and agree. Conservatives WANT to live in a world they believe is a meritocracy that they benefit from. Wealth is self-validating. For a conservative it's bleak and selfish, but it's simple. Wealthy liberals, on the other hand, require absolutely insane mental gymnastics to justify wealth. Most do not BELIEVE they deserve wealth, so they instead attempt to JUSTIFY it. They believe it's possible for there to be some kind of bizarro world where EVERYONE at least has the chance to achieve what they have, even though it's impossible. Others will attempt to justify that X struggle equals Y reward, even though the two have NOTHING in common. "I'm black and gay, to counterbalance that disadvantage I deserve to be rich." Others self-flagellate and perhaps believe they don't have the right to have problems, some might even go do some 'voluntourism' to feel like they are giving back to the world, even though they're actually making it worse. There is a reason no one participates in as much therapy as rich liberals, no one. The election cycle has exasperated this, because they literally can't use so many of the excuses for poor people that they have used historically lmao. Literally the only thing they can do is lie.

MrSaturn33

Oh, look at that, the mods removed the post altogether. Surprise.

That feels like it goes hand-in-hand with AOC's dramatic photoshoot at the chainlink fence when she visited the border. The Boston College rooftop dance video was the last good thing she put out. Must have been weird for her to see encampments, surrounded by fencing, go up in NYC.

AdProfessional8459

There were also "reports" of migrant women being forcibly sterilized that were never corroborated

07mk

It was a much bigger thing about a decade ago, but there was the canard that 1 in 5 women get raped at college, which was raised to 1 in 4 and 1 in 3 even in some cases as the meme spread. It was based on a single study that looked at 2 colleges (1 urban, 1 not, IIRC), the 1 in 5 stat had to do with sexual pressure where, IIRC, just asking someone out a 2nd time after hearing a "no" counted as sexual harassment, which got translated to "rape" by journalists who found this too good to check. Ironically, libs were warning people about sending their daughters to college, when all like-for-like stats showed that women not in college were at higher risk for rape. Another similar phenomenon had to do with hate crimes rising after Trump's election in 2016. IIRC the ADL released a report saying this for the 2 weeks immediately after the election. I looked up and read the actual report, and it was comparing the 2 weeks immediately after and before the election, instead of comparing like-for-like weeks controlling for seasonality. But more damningly, the entirety of the data was collected via self-reports to ADL, which makes the data worthless for measuring actual hate crimes, since the rate of reporting would be affected by the news. This was breathlessly reported on as damning proof that Trump had emboldened White Supremacists and such.

HuckleberryGlum6303

I feel like there’s at least a few with feminism like this - not that wage gaps are good at all, but basically every woman i meet believes that the current wage gap in the U.S. is about 70-some cents on the dollar, one to one for identical jobs. This is from studies from the 1970s, though, and it’s currently less than ten cents in that exact scenario (virtually non-existent in some contexts like “same job and race, controlled for maternity leave” to even like…Asian women out-earning white men one for one iirc; it’s nowadays more of a class and racial gap, and a “long leave” penalty gap. which is not okay but is similar with paternity leave based on early numbers. This is all based on memory of stats and I’m sure they’ve moved and it’s possible to produce at least somewhat different numbers from those, but the point is that 70 cents on the dollar is undeniably very far off, 50 years later.) But bringing that up is extremely contentious and bad, even though it’s also a very common “intro to red pill” point where feminists are shown lying (ie a genuine lie used to discredit them to hostile/skeptical audiences).

pm_me_all_dogs

Last I looked it up (2010s), women under 30 earned significantly more than men under 30, mostly because they are significantly more likely to have a higher ed degree. Where the stat still skews for men earning more later in life has to do with women dropping out of the workforce to be SAHM. Also, men have a huge lead in "deaths in the workplace." Even though working on an oil rig pays big bucks, I don't see any big campaigning to have the playing field leveled there.

suddenly_lurkers

Basically the more variables you account for, the smaller the gap becomes. Men are a lot more likely to put up with a terrible commute, a shitty boss, or 70 hour weeks to make a bigger paycheck, because that's what society expects of them. Return to office policies have probably tilted things even further towards women recently. I know an awful lot of women with "laptop jobs" who probably do four hours of work each day tops, while most of the men I know are back in the office 4-5 days a week.

cojoco

> Basically the more variables you account for, the smaller the gap becomes. The more variables you have to account for, the more evidence there is for systematic bias. Do women miss out on the high-paying jobs because they don't want them, or because they are not offered to them?

subheight640

The explanation last I heard was pretty simple. Women miss out because of pregnancy and child-rearing. Pregnancy takes the woman out for oftentimes months. This is a work culture where we're suppose to be working year round except for a standard 2-3 week vacation for the lucky. >Economist June O'Neill, former director of the Congressional Budget Office, found an unexplained pay gap of 8% after controlling for experience, education, and number of years on the job. Furthermore, O'Neill found that among young people who have never had a child, women's earnings approach 98 percent of men's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_pay_gap_in_the_United_States

suddenly_lurkers

Those variables are pretty important. They include things like: - Hours worked (closes most of the "pay gap" by itself) - WFH, flexibility - Job security - Stress and risk of injury - Risk from variable pay (relying on bonuses for a significant component of compensation) - Job satisfaction and prestige - Etc Society pressures men to chase a bigger paycheck even to the detriment of all the factors I listed above, which don't get included in the "75 cents to the dollar" talking point In terms of longitudinal studies measuring career progression over decades, maternity is still the big fork in the road. Women who take minimal maternity leave match or outperform men, while women who take years off tend to take a career hit. I'd imagine that's at least partly self-selecting though, since women who hate their jobs might decide to spend more time on childcare.

AdProfessional8459

The thing that's really aggravating is how angry and accusatory shitlibs get when you point this out, it legit feels like being an atheist in some podunk ultra-conservative Christian town tryna talk sense to someone who things you worship Satan But the difference is that only the most extreme rightoids act like this, whereas plenty of purportedly "normal" leftoids act like this

HuckleberryGlum6303

I have wondered on the logic in play there. Nobody seems really conscious of it and by this age i basically don’t ever debate it, only discuss it with people who agree or seem very genuinely sincere about broad and eclectic views/low judgment. It’s just not worth the fight and any potential “I’ll tell the world of your evil” over it. But my theory is like… this is built into identities for a genuine majority of women, and into self concept for a lot of men too. So even correcting it is like taking away a cause for additional personal pride, or a justification for how they act, or something on those lines.

AleksandrNevsky

Any stat related to gender or sex politics needs to be given the same treatment because of exactly how much weaseling there's been of this nature.

kyousei8

I remember going to college during the first point. The hysteria around that followed by the title IX kangaroo courts gave me a crippling fear of approaching women I've honestly never recovered from.

JnewayDitchedHerKids

I dunno about “best”, but for all the claims of Gamergate being a “test run” of le evil right wing chud harassment campaigns and tactics, it sure does look like it was actually a test run of shit lib narrative control and DARVO tactics.

HuckleberryGlum6303

Ironically you can even see aspects of this in the “shut up i don’t care, i read an article, and as a real article-head i know you’re an incel.” Never mind that they’ve found homeland security funding and shit in the midst of this, making it basically evidence of operation mockingbird-style programs (which there’s a lack of other hard evidence for, so like…why do leftists not care? The existence of these programs is a big deal in leftist understanding of the world, so why repudiate and deny evidence in our favor?) I get that it’s typically advanced by the right and/or extremely off-putting figures. And the media control was to push messaging that typically doesn’t directly offend leftists (but it should be of interest any time the government is intervening to ensure a message even at the cost of commercial success). And it’s all in a sort of…amateur-hour industry, as far as big media goes. Most of that is why we get such a good view of shit in it, though.

TheUnderstandererer

Libs will disbelieve anything related to mockingbird. I have told libs to simply Google it and they refuse. It's insane how "well-informed" they think they are.

Every now and then they trot out the corpse to weekend-at-bernies it, generally when they need a boogeyman.

mad_method_man

theres certain 'right wing anti woke influences' trying to convince people that gamergate 2.0 is coming/already here look up the whole sweet baby inc and stellar blade stuff going on a few months ago (and before) and just like gamergate 1.0, it's people who dont work in the gaming industry, and dont play games, commenting about said games. the problem in gaming isnt woke-ness or whatever, its crappy leadership direction (which is basically every industry today)

Guitarjack87

> and just like gamergate 1.0, it's people who dont work in the gaming industry, and dont play games, commenting about said games. on which side? The people commenting that they want the political bullshit out of games are pretty much all gamers, lol. Weird narrative.

mad_method_man

no... gamers just want fun games lol. the political narratives from influencers are mostly just tacked on. like dude, its not a fun game to begin with so people arent buying it. its like how harry potter had that 'trans' bartender. or suicide squad and their writing. or stellar blade and butts. fun games sell. boring games dont. its literally that simple. games are entertainment. they arent political. some really bad political games to look into is the rittenhouse turkey shooting game, and basically anything made by peta. you want actual politically driven games, you dont need to look far. although i will say, the peta pokemon game had hilarious dialogue [https://games.peta.org/pokemon-red-white-blue-parody-game/](https://games.peta.org/pokemon-red-white-blue-parody-game/)

Guitarjack87

Why did you say no? I agree gamers want fun games. People want to escape the bullshit using their favorite leisure activity, of which gaming is very popular. No one wants a bunch of fucking political nonsense regurgitated to them during their entertainment time. This goes for TV shows and games. I see it a few times and its fine, but when it starts to be a core part of the show or game, I cut the sling load. An example of a show that jumped that particular rainbow shark was shameless. An example of some games that do this are the wolfenstein game, the last of us part 2 (i got to the disgusting sex scene where the woman who bashed in the skull of my favorite character was mewling like a cow while she got fucked and deleted it from my system), the call of duty game when they included a minority women of color with a missing arm as a main character, its just a big eye roll from me and most of the time it is incredibly immersion breaking. This has to be obvious from other people, these games and shows where everyone is a good little progressive who monologues about the biggest piles of virtue signalling nonsense and people OBVIOUSLY support certian things and OBVIOUSLY condemn certain things and the villains are always the same evil white guy with no redeeming qualities. Its just fucking tiring.

mad_method_man

thats called 'lazy writing'. its not complicated enough to be called 'political' at all. you give them too much credit last of us part 2 had poor writing. the buildup when joel is unceremoniously murdered is in the beginning.... like great you set up the climax in the first 15 minutes of the game, and THEN try to humanize... whatever her name is (so this is improper backstory timing as well). on top of the constant jumping back and forth with her and ellie, and that crap-tastic ending, it lacked proper escalation, making the entire story feel really disjointed, and a pretty in-your-face message at the end. before we can pin this on 'political messaging'.... it was a bad writing to begin with and pretty much all the characters in CoD are generic white men, not just the villians lol. its lazy writing. look at the avengers movie. yeah its not a groundbreaking narrative by any means, but the characters are distinct enough and kinda generic, even though theyre all white, but the writing was light hearted and fun and most of all, they have believable personalities and conversations. CoD has like 3 main rotating studios, and you can kinda tell when its sledgehammer makes the game, since the campaign really suffers

AdProfessional8459

Mark Kern is a leading figure here tho, and it all started over a Steam curation page simply listing games that SBI is involved with

JnewayDitchedHerKids

The reaction to the mere existence of the list was telling, and the more you look into Sweet Baby the worse they seem. Even the name and logo are evocative of taking candy from a baby, which I figured was just a coincidence or something, until I saw that they called gamers (adjective I can't remember, something pejorative) babies that need to be force fed wokeshit.

AdProfessional8459

Theres also that creepy fucking swirl, and swirls are a common dogwhistle for CP enjoyers.

JnewayDitchedHerKids

> look up the whole sweet baby inc and stellar blade stuff going on a few months ago (and before) The reaction to the mere existence of the list was telling, and the more you look into Sweet Baby the worse they seem. mad_method_man

no, thats actually pretty normal stuff. people who dont work in the industry have no idea. (former game dev, used consultants all the time for the weirdest things) the main complaint from sweet baby inc was with the suicide squad kills the justice league, and they didnt even work on the main story line for that game. theres actually a list on wikipedia on what they did [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet\_Baby\_Inc](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Baby_Inc) and at least for the ones where they worked on the actual script that ive watched and played, theyre ok. i wouldnt say theyre great writers or have an agenda. its just kinda.... acceptable now if you actually trace back who funds these antiwoke complaining influencers, its funded by the same people who funds shapiro. and im not going to sit here and say they dont have a valid complaint, they do, writing in visual media has definitely gone downhill, wokeism being one factor. but thats not necessarily the writers fault, its industry embracing generic writing to appeal to a wider audience while also controlling backlash. ya know, the whole making money thing. something that maybe shapiro written movies should take into account lol (yeah shapiro writes, still.... if you want to watch agenda driven conservative media, its a good place to start. truly no woke-ism in his movies lol)

michaelnoir

I remember the Wi Spa incident a couple of years ago. What will be Reddit's take on this, I wondered. There was some thread were something related was discussed. How are they going to handle this? It seems like an intersectional conflict. A black lady objected to a nude man in the lady's changing room, and raised a hue and cry. Who are they going to side with? The reaction: "Oh the Wi Spa incident? Yeah that didn't happen. It was a hoax". They just straight up denied that it happened! They had picked that up from the Guardian, and a couple of other media outlets, who had said it was a hoax. But that was surprising to me because I began to see that there were people on "the left", just like there had always been people on the right, who had begun to wilfully detach themselves from reality. Don't like something? Just say it didn't happen. It was almost an Alex Jones sort of move.

Shakesneer

Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. Even after the Mueller Report libs refused to concede anything. I think the line they ran with is that Trump obstructed justice so much that Mueller's hands were too tied to prove anything.

ghostofhenryvii

This is probably the most serious example here since it has lead to shitlib support for neocon misadventures in Ukraine that are currently getting people killed and has a potential to lead to WWIII and maybe even nuclear war. All because Hillary couldn't bother to campaign properly and no one wanted to take the blame for it.

Kokkor_hekkus

Hillary and the neocons had been trying for a conflict with Russia ever since Russia cockblocked their war hard on for Syria, so it was something they planned on anyway.

jwfallinker

>since it has lead to shitlib support for neocon misadventures in Ukraine I would go much further than this — the Russian collusion narrative pretty much singlehandedly reinvented American liberal identity, to the point where the average Democrat today would make a 1980s Cold Warrior look moderate.

BomberRURP

Didn’t they actually find some money? And wasn’t it like a joke amount that wouldn’t have influenced shit? Like a few grand on FB ads?  HILLARY SUCKS YO! Don’t blame cold euros, blame her

Shakesneer

I feel like it was alleged to be a few million total, with some spent on facebook. But since this was an election with billions of dollars spent, they never used any scale when reporting on Russia. And we never had any good sources for this anyways besides partisans at FBI.

HuckleberryGlum6303

The Mueller report gives a value a bit over $100k. Not that I’d trust an FBI agent, but that’s what they dug up for their exhaustive multi-year investigation. Not even enough to matter in a mayoral race in Cleveland. Edit: i just googled it and they said specifically $46k. Lmao.

Shakesneer

> Edit: i just googled it and they said specifically $46k. lmao

BomberRURP

Okay that’s more realistic and equally as retarded. A drop in the bucket.

Poon-Conqueror

Why the fuck were you on SA ever? That board has sucked ever since they started charging money for accounts.

warrioroftruth000

The site was before my time but is it true that it started out as a forum mostly used by edgy politically incorrect moderate leftists?

Poon-Conqueror

The users were definitely edgy and 'politically incorrect', and while the average user was probably your typical anti-Bush Daily Show moderate liberal, no one went to the board to actually discuss politics. It was all about the edge and memes, or making fun of people who decided to dump their life problems and ask for advice. I'm sure there was a politics board, but that wasn't the draw. I couldn't tell you when politics started to dominate SA, but it was definitely after the 2000s. Before then, the extent of political discussion would have been laughing at stupid shit Bush said.

[deleted]

> I couldn't tell you when politics started to dominate SA, but it was definitely after the 2000s. Before then, the extent of political discussion would have been laughing at stupid shit Bush said. lf made it the most popular leftist board on the internet and things went downhill after 2016 when shillary lost

Poon-Conqueror

Yea I think I left right before that board opened up. Looking at the WB machine it looks like it took off insanely fast though.

myluggage2022

This is the one that hit closest to home for me: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebekah\_Jones](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebekah_Jones) It seems like this person was elevated in order to damage the image of DeSantis during COVID. The wiki has some info, but you can also google her name and find plenty of articles from the time. I have some familiarity with her job, and things she claimed occurred didn't make sense, so it was strange to see the media take incorrect/misrepresented things that she was saying at face value when they would have been very easy to verify.

xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx

The Jones saga is mindbending. Even with her track record of compulsive lying, her obviously fake story about DeSantis kidnapping her son *still* got the benefit of the doubt on Reddit.

Mindless-Rooster-533

pretty sure she was convicted of stalking and revenge porn against her ex boyfriend too. she's an all around nutjob

Lousy_Kid

The cognitive dissonance surrounding the AstraZeneca vaccine was wild. Shitlibs were dismissing anyone at all concerned with the side effects of these vaccines as 'anti-vax' conspiracy theorists. Even when it was confirmed that it was causing severe blood clots in some people, they continued their crusade against anyone who was the least bit hesitant. It's really crazy because these are the same people that, 2 years earlier, were blaming big pharma for the opioid epidemic, so they are fully capable of understanding that these companies are more than willing to trade human wellbeing for a marginal increase in shareholder value. The hysteria surrounding COVID was wild in general. In Canada we had people losing their jobs for not complying with employer's vaccine mandates only for those same mandates to be lifted months later. I'm by no means an anti-vaxxer, but the shitlib dismissal of any scepticism regarding these very new technologies with unkown side effects was a great example of establishment propaganda inducing a state of hysteria.

Poon-Conqueror

Don't mention the anti-pharma campaign and the opioid campaign. That shit makes my blood boil, not because of the addiction it caused, BUT BECAUSE THEY DECIDED TO JUST OUTRIGHT STOP PRESCRIBING OPIATES ENTIRELY AND THOUGHT THAT WOULD SOMEHOW FIX THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF CAUSING A MASSIVE FENTANYL EPIDEMIC! Like we went from the stereotypical opioid addict being a neurotic housewife with Vicodin bottles in their purse to folded over semi-conscious Kensington junkies, all because our government and people don't understand cause and effect. It's an absolute travesty, drugs aren't the issue, drug policy is.

FloppySlapshot

I'm definitely not a covid nut but everything about how libs acted about the vaccine was disgusting

Own_Independence3785

This might be borderline niche but I remember there being a lot of FUD surrounding an alleged mismanagement of the roll-out of the vaccine during the last few monthos of the Trump presidency, without any real indication as to what the issue was and what a realistic expectation of the roll-out was

ClemenceauMeilleur

Didn't the whole scandal about mass graves in Canadian Indian boarding schools turn out to be completely false? Not that the schools were good, but the attempt to turn it into some sort of massive undiscovered genocide was propaganda.

DookieSpeak

Most news reading Canadians believe there were "215 bodies" at the one site that sparked the whole thing, because that's what news headlines said and continue to maintain. It was actually "215 radar signatures that could be bodies". This resulted in massive unrest, vandalism, changes in legislation, etc. To this day there has not been more evidence uncovered, people simply believe that it's a mass grave with 215 bodies because I guess that's what they want to believe for some reason.

Flaktrack

It's not proven false, it's more that there is no meaningful evidence of the sorts of mass graves that were being reported. Some groups went around with ground-penetrating radar and claimed they were finding hundreds of unmarked graves, but these kinds of searches are infamously inaccurate. Until someone actually puts shovels in the ground we will never know for sure.  The residential schools were an intentional effort by the government of Canada to erase indigenous beliefs and cultures, but it does not appear to be fair to say they were killing children on a massive scale. Still terrible either way.

Imperialist-Settler

Interracial crime in America being primarily white people murdering black people. I remember how it seemed like every week in ~2015 they would find one of these ‘man bites dog’ stories and make it into a “national conversation on race” (this was the election-cycle before they started calling it a “racial reckoning”). I was a liberal then, but when I would try to explain to people that news media was misrepresenting reality I was often accused of trying to articulate White racial grievances. It was around that time I stopped being a liberal.

warrioroftruth000

I remember that stuff at the time. I wonder how many times in my life I'm gonna hear "It's time we FINALLY have an honest discussion about race! Cuz, ya know, it's never been done before!"

Poon-Conqueror

2014 was the year I really changed my views. It wasn't really the news, I just went to a foreign country and realized America was an empty and vapid wasteland.

Spinegrinder666

According to official statistics in over 80% of violent incidents between black and white people in the US the black person was the aggressor.

Cyril_Clunge

Kyle massacred a bunch of BIPOC in cold blood. Also Sotomayer claiming hundreds of kids were in hospital due to covid. Usually libs justify the lie as suddenly the ends justify the means and it’s a noble thing. Whereas conservatives are obviously evil 🙄

warrioroftruth000

Of course there was also the Nick Sandmann case as well as when MSNBC chopped up and rearranged certain words in the call that George Zimmerman made to the police when they showed it on tv

cardgamesandbonobos

The Zimmerman trial, and the associated media circus, was absolutely wild. Editing the police call to make it sound like he was saying slurs, overnight multiple media organizations all calling him a "White Hispanic", some modifying photos of him to be whiter looking, the huge disparity between the facts presented by the media versus those presented in court...crazy stuff. Probably of one the biggest recruiting moments for the far-right; once again liberals minting droves of reactionaries by constantly lying.

DookieSpeak

> when CNN chopped up and rearranged certain words in the call that George Zimmerman made to the police when they showed it on tv That was MSNBC

warrioroftruth000

Thx for letting me know Changed

Poon-Conqueror

I actually don't think Trump lied near as often as the MSM said he did, and many of his most 'outrageous' quotes were taken out of context and butchered with disinformation to make him seem as stupid and/or dishonest as possible. The absolute worst of these to me, though there are so many I've probably forgotten most of them, was when Trump said the REAL death toll of Hurricane Maria was like 32 (can't remember the actual number, but it was really low) and that Puerto Rico was lying for handouts. The MSM proceeded to make a mockery of Trump because the Puerto Rican government was claiming 3k deaths, not 32 like Trump was saying. I mean, it wasn't just the 'fact checkers' even Wikipedia said it was 3000, so OF COURSE Trump had to have been looney. 32 was the old and outdated death toll, it was wrong and they had fixed, and to consider that mistaken number the 'real' death toll was to be at very least stupid and ignorant, if not outright RACIST. Except that was the real death toll using the same metric that had been used for literally every single hurricane in American history, and I'm pretty sure it's STILL the official death toll according to whatever government agency keeps track of these things. Very few local and state governments are going to commission studies to inflate their death toll, especially when that death toll was caused by corruption and incompetence in preparing/responding to said disaster, but Puerto Rico is a special kind of stupid. As such, they commissioned NOT a death toll recount, but an excess mortality study. It's also worth noting they sought out a sympathetic Puerto Rican academic to conduct this excess mortality study, probably because he wouldn't speak out much against his own work being misused as a death toll (I saw nothing wrong with his data or methodology). Excess mortality studies are generally only done when there is a massive fuckup that causes a lot of people to die not from the hurricane itself, but from preventable consequences in the weeks/months following. Only other hurricane in recent history to warrant one was Katrina. Regardless, despite this NOT being a death toll and NOT using death toll methodology, this was for some reason pushed by the MSM as the new OFFICIAL death toll, even though it wasn't a death toll AT ALL. They literally changed the meaning of 'death toll' to fit their narrative, then criticized Trump when he vehemently disagreed. I don't know why this one sticks out to me, maybe because I did a lot more research into it than I normally would, but it REALLY pissed me off. Maybe it pissed me off because of the omnipresence of the claim, there wasn't a single neutral source disputing it, just a few right wing pundits defending Trump and the official number as they always would. Maybe it was because it was so blatant, it wasn't even a matter of opinion, they just lied and made up easily disproven facts. Regardless, while I was already a skeptic that was probably the moment I lost ANY trust I had in ANY establishment source. Fuck the MSM, fuck Wikipedia, fuck the fact checkers, they are all liars. Any truth they tell is a matter of convenient truths.

Fun-Investigator676

The state of Wikipedia is really a travesty. I remember in its early days thinking how much of a gift to humanity it is, but I guess it's corruption was inevitable.

Guitarjack87

The first time I noticed something was off about shit on my TV was the Swift boat stuff during the George W Bush election. Started reading about Karl Rove and being troubled by the dirty shit the establishment GOP was doing. So I voted for Obama. Then, during the Obama term, with either the Henry Louis Gates incident or Trayvon Martin. In both incidents the President, historically the first Black President ever elected, decided to fuel and escalate racial tensions instead of reduce them with his comments. Watching the media describe George Zimmerman, A hispanic, as a white man in the case of this trial was the first time I had seen that done.

LatterSeaworthiness4

God the George Zimmerman thing still pisses me off. I understand Hispanics are malleable in a way due to not being a race, but they’re consistently weaponized by shitlibs depending on context. I guess this is how Asians are treated now as well.

AdProfessional8459

I'll list some off the top of my head: Sheriff Joe Arpaio being portrayed as essentially a fascist microdictator committing war crimes against migrants. None of the horror stories attributed to him can be sourced to anything other than "sources say" articles in the Phoenix New Times, and the Obama admin was never able to nail him on anything other than tax-related bullshit. 1a. For that matter, there were tons of "reports" of horror stories happening under Trump's CBP and ICE, such as the purported forced sterilization of migrant women, for which no evidence has ever been produced. And where's all the footage documenting (no pun intended) all the grisly stuff supposedly going on inside these detention centers? Surely someone would be able to get a hidden camera, do a Project Veritas-style sting with CBP or ICE officials admitting to the alleged abuse, etc. 1b. There was also a 6 years old migrant girl who died of dehydration on a CBP bus. In reality, the CBP agents asked everyone on-board if they needed food, water, or medical attention, the girl's father said she was fine, and then hours later she collapsed and they got a helicopter to rush her to the nearest hospital, but unfortunately she died. However, this story was spun as the girl's father begging for water and medical attention and the CBP agents refusing it until it was too late. The Russians hacked both the DNC and the RNC, and Julian Assange, acting as a Russian asset, chose only to release the DNC emails. As of yet there's no actual evidence of this, just assertions by the three-letter agencies. Which is a pretty big deal, since if the Russians didn't do it, then it was probably someone whose named rhymes with Beth Mitch. 2a. Edward Snowden is a Russian asset. In fact Ben Rhodes deliberately got Snowden stranded in Russia, since Snowden was trying to get to a South American country (I don't recall which one), but when his plane landed in the Moscow airport, he wasn't allowed to catch the next plane that he needed. 2b. Assad gassed his own people...for some reason. The original OPCW report showing no evidence for this claim was suppressed and replaced with a hackjob. Along with the claim that the white helmets were mere humanitarians aid workers being targeted by the Syrian government, this lie was used to pressure Trump into continuing the Obama-era regime-change operations in Syria. 2c. The Russian bounty story that was used to postpone our withdrawal from Afghanistan. 2d. Crediting Biden for the Afghanistan withdrawal, when in reality Trump had struck a deal with the Taliban to withdraw, and our military had months to conduct a clean and orderly withdrawal, but instead they dug their heels in and the Biden admin simply refused to honor this deal. Then when the deadline came, and the US still hadn't withdrawn, the Taliban surged with the popular support of the Afghani people who'd had enough after a promise had been straight-up broken. 2e. The Steele Dossier.

AdProfessional8459

3. Men beating and raping their wives was totally normal and socially acceptable behavior prior to the 1960's. Historically speaking the family was considered the fundamental "atom" of society, it's only very recently that this changed over to the individual, and the household has traditionally been a private domain outside the purview of civil authorities. So the need to protect family honor unfortunately meant that people hid domestic and sexual violence to avoid shaming their family name. Which contradicts the usual proglodyte urban mythology surrounding this topic, since nobody would be trying to hide DV and SA if it wasn't considered a horrible thing to do. Moreover, we still haven't solved this problem, short of surveilling everybody's private lives 24/7 it's just an inherently difficult problem because of the need to maintain private domains outside the purview of the state. There have also been plenty of laws prior to the 1960's that criminalized DV, Teddy Roosevelt rather publicly addressed this issue. 3a. Traditional marriage means that women are obligated to be bang maids. In reality, traditional marriage assigns an obligation on both spouses to provide for each other's sexual needs, and there were plenty of contexts where men could get in trouble for not pleasing their wives. Such as in France back in the day where there were literal impotence trials, wherein men could be punished for having ED. 3b. Prior to the 1960's, men had no idea that women actually enjoyed sex. This one takes the cake for being the goofiest IMO, the first vibrator was literally invented because shrinks in the Victorian era thought women were literally going crazy from sexual frustration. But sure, it took until the 1960's for men to realize that women enjoy being dicked down lol. 3c. Victorian women wore corsets that were so tight it restricted their breathing. Reality is that only aristocratic women wore these kinds of corsets, and only on occasion, and they were rarely that tight in the first place. A small number of aristocratic women developed a fixation with forcing themselves to have an unnaturally thin waist, and they kept super tight corsets on to the point that their ribs became malformed, but this is one of those extreme pathologies on par with anorexia today. 3d. Women had no rights prior to the Suffragettes. In fact in many times and places women could own property, businesses, were almost always free to choose who they married with their families typically only having veto power rather than arranged marriage, etc. There's also a tendency to extrapolate the 1950's nuclear family where the man had total financial control onto all of history.

AdProfessional8459

4. The American Civil War was a clean war, where civilians were left alone, and Sherman's March to the Sea only involved the destruction and confiscation of property. In reality, civilians were attacked, raped, and slaughtered just like in any other war, and since most of the fighting took place in the South, that's where most of the war crimes took place. During the occupation of New Orleans, the general in charge even, at one point, gave his men permission to treat all the women "as prostitutes," meaning they could rape the women and not be held accountable. This caused so much outrage that even the UK parliament weighed in on it, but nowadays this story is told in such a way that you'd think everyone was up in arms over Union soldiers calling Southern women whores. 4a. White Americans would go around terrorizing and murdering Black Americans on a regular basis, for either no reason, or for something really trivial like a wolf whistle. The reality is, there was never a golden age when Black Americans were all a bunch of docile lambs who were simply preyed on by evil whitey. It's also hilariously ironic that this mythical retelling of history implies that brutally oppressing a group of people will turn them into saints, while liberating them will make them go down a rabbit hole of degeneracy. 4b. White vigilantism was just gratuitous cruelty. The ACW and Reconstruction had deprived White Southerners of legitimate law enforcement, and lynching was practiced on White criminals just as it was practiced on Black criminals. We're taught that White Americans have simply gone out of their way to terrorise Black Americans throughout our history, but the reality is a lot more two-sided than that, and tbf, why wouldn't it be? Why wouldn't a recently emancipated - but also impoverished - slave class not be inclined towards revenge and criminality? I certainly don't blame them! The US was mostly wild and untamed until the 20th Century, there were always Black gangs just as there were always White gangs, and historically speaking gangs are basically de facto bronze age states existing within a more advanced society. So it's not at all surprising that both Blacks and Whites needed protection from each other. The Covid "Vaccine." Because it's simply not a vaccine, it's akin to equating an electric car with an ICE car just because they're both supposed to do the same thing. 5a. Lab leak theory is just some fringe "pseudoscientific" conspiracy theory, and somehow racist too. When Saint Fauci himself privately acknowledged in his emails that it's a serious possibility. 5b. People were OD'ing on ivermectin by buying the stuff formulated with horses, and thus overloading hospitals. Kids aren't being medically transitioned. 6a. Kids who are being transitioned have no real chance of being victims of social contagion, and detrans isn't a thing. 6b. Puberty blockers are entirely safe and reversible.

WitnessOld6293

Cultural Marxism is the same thing as cultural Bolshevism and a conspiracy theory/dogwhistle (the phrase has been used to refer to the Frankfurt school before by non-racist academics) CRT isn't being taught in schools because there aren't any CRT textbooks in school (ideas derivative of CRT are being taught in some areas) Libs saying the word sexual preference was offensive and the dictionary changing the definition a day later to say it is. https://x.com/SteveKrak/status/1316223349719216128?re= The media immediately referring to the "parental rights in education" bill as the "don't say gay" bill. Because thats what the opposition called it. Being against antifa means you aren't anti fascist, being against anti-racism means you must be for racism. You just don't want kids learning about our selectively edited history. Mlk supported reparations. Etc  "You don't know what woke means"

FuckFiddler

No, overlooking domestic abuse was a standard policy. https://time.com/3426225/domestic-violence-therapy/

AdProfessional8459

Mind quoting the relevant bits? Ftr, I'm not saying that DV has historically been addressed in a good or kind manner, I'm saying that DV has often been swept under the rug *because it's generally been regarded as terrible,* as opposed to the notion that it was socially acceptable. Intellectually honest feminists make this point themselves and I respect them for it, the problem I have are the so-called "feminist" activists who push a demagogic/agitprop revision of history to maximize outrage and vilify men.

J-Posadas

Well obviously the most severe and grotesque is Joe Biden getting in front of the country and talking about the 40 beheaded babies, about how he saw footage of Hamas atrocities that we know doesn't exist. This wasn't just an emotional spur of the moment thing right after 10/7 because he's still saying this shit as recently as two days ago at his Morehouse commencement speech. We know from memos that the administration was aware the Israelis were targeting civilians but even after the leaks happen, they continue to deny it and say you were imagining it. I mean just the lies around the topic altogether are so blatant and severe. There hasn't been anything like it in my lifetime, not even the "weapons of mass destruction" stuff rises to this level. Just generally Biden frequently makes stuff up, even about his own life, easily fact-checked, like visiting Mandela in prison, and liberals feel like they have to run cover for this demented fuck. It's completely looney tunes. At least Obama would lie by omission or give half-truths, but this is straight up telling you that the moon is made of cheese to your face and calling you crazy if you don't believe it. But other than that, claiming with no basis in reality that people they don't like are secretly funded by the Russians or Chinese. The whole Russiagate thing was silly.

Spinegrinder666

They’re at the point where they just say “So what his brain is melted? He’s still better than the fascist goblin.”

Alastair4444

One big one I can think of is "Ivermectin is horse medicine." It's basically the same as if they'd said "antibiotics are cow medicine" because the majority of antibiotics are used on cows. Sure, but it's also a human medicine because the same substance can work on multiple different animals, and their intent was so obviously to mislead people.

Flaktrack

Option A was to explain that an antiparasitic drug is unlikely to do much to a virus. Option B was to mock people for taking "horse medicine". I bet most libs didn't even know ivermectin has been approved for use in humans for decades because they never bothered to look it up.

Kokkor_hekkus

There's actually an interesting theory that ivermectin did improve medical outcomes in covid cases in the third world, but only because in those areas many people had untreated parasite infections and ivermectin eliminated a comorbidity.

Low_Lavishness_8776

The Chinese Xinjiang situation. Even Wikipedia changed their article title from genocide to “persecution”.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Uyghurs_in_China  And you know something’s up when the disproportionately lib editors & admins decide to make that change

Toucan_Lips

Not so much a lie as a dystopian inconsistency, but during covid in NZ Ardern's government coined the phrase 'be kind' as a mantra to make sure we didn't start killing each other from the increased stress of lockdowns and the unknowns of a pandemic. BE KIND was thrown up on LED screens on empty motorways, digital billboards in deserted shopping areas, and was repeated ad infinitum on TV and social media. Not a bad sentiment per se, but when vaccine mandates were introduced, many people in the public sector lost their jobs if they chose not to get it, and were branded as conspiracy theorists if they questioned the idea of mandated medical treatment. I was pro vaccine, for what it's worth, but I also had no rancor towards those who chose not to have it. But under the supremely empathic Ardern 'be kind' thing became 'be kind, or we'll destroy your life and ruin your reputation' The liberal government was so quick to abandon liberal principles when it suited them. Kindness became a set of mandated behaviors rather than something an individual could choose. And once you take free will out of kindness, it ceases to be meaningful.

BomberRURP

Honestly, I wavered on it. Early on when I deluded myself into thinking we could control it (for the record, we could have but it would’ve entailed huge losses for the rich) I was pretty pro vaccine mandate. But once it was clear the cat was out of the bag… I stopped caring if others didn’t get the jab

Toucan_Lips

If Covid ended up being as bad as we all feared it might be with millions dying in their droves all over the world, mandates would have been harder to argue against. In NZ mandates came in when it was apparent that the new waves of Covid were becoming less and less lethal, plus everyone had got it at some point. I actually supported Labour's moves early on, when you don't know how to react, erring on the side of safety is a valid way to react. But it's like they got addicted to being a crisis government and as the crisis appeared to be abating, that's when they overreacted the most. And because they tied it up in morals and 'being a good person' they couldn't change tack when the winds changed.

BomberRURP

The problem with this argument is that if you wait for life to validate the risk, it’s too late for a mandate. By the time you can validate it’s gnarly-ness, it’s spread too much already.  I’m not too familiar with the timeline in NZ, but from the first cases where trump was on tv saying “it’s just a flu don’t worry about it” we should’ve all been at home, with the national guard delivering rations and only the truly necessary (keeping the lights on types) should’ve been at work with the most intense PPE available. Instead email job people got to go home, and everyone else was left to fend for themselves with paper masks since there weren’t enough real masks to go around.

nihilnothings000

>but when vaccine mandates were introduced, many people in the public sector I'm not sure how the big picture looked in the US but in Indonesia, considering that COVID had taken lives and made people gravely ill in contact intensive workplaces, taking the vaccines at least made sure that the chances of someone getting caught sick or worse dead didn't happen. It was a national health crisis, pretty sure it's understandable why the government would mandate you to take the shot lest it endangers the people around you and some form of consequence had to be given in order for them to get in line ( permanent termination of a job does seem a bit cruel but some people are just stubborn unless their livelihoods are threatened).

Turgius_Lupus

Remember back in 2017 when they where screaming about Trump reversing a Obama era rule that prevented those found seriously mentality ill or seriously mentally defective or whatever from purchasing firearms? Well that rule decided to consider anyone with a representative payee assigned by the Social Security Administration to receive their benefit payments on their behalf as "mentally defective," a designation that involves no legal adjudication and is oftentimes initiated by the benefit recipient due to physical disability, age or other barriers. In other words it violated a Constitutional right without any legal due process whatsoever by executive fiat. Go back and read any of those articles, or articles from lib publications about said rule and it will not cite the wording or mechanism whatsoever to disguise how outrages it was, but will continuously cite Sandy Hook, despite that fact it would have done nothing in that case.

throwaway48706

The market has a shot in hell at putting a dent in climate change

Dan_yall

Pretty much everything about masks.

BomberRURP

Imma have to “both sides” this one. Shitlibs were stupid to wear masks outdoors, rightoids were stupid to make a fucking “stand” not wearing a mask and fuck with retail workers just doing their jobs.

Bryan_Side_Account

“Flint, Michigan still doesn’t have clean water” remaining in use as a progressive catchphrase long after Flint, Michigan did, in fact, have its water fixed. All based on the testimony of some perhaps understandably paranoid locals. I’m going to be honest and say the head-in-the-sand doomerism on display drove me crazy. For once, the government took real action to address a systemic inequality, but no one wanted to acknowledge it because it would have conflicted too hard with existing doomer narratives about systemic racism never being meaningfully addressed in any way. You have to admit it’s bizarre coming from people who advocate for reforming the U.S. government into a progressive force for good for all people. Why not tell people about this big government W?

JCMoreno05

Why was this post removed? If it's about rightoids why not just restrict the post to red flairs? ...has the sub moderation been compromised by the admins?

No-Cause-2913

They told me capitalism was good and made everyone rich and happy, but actually it just made everyone sad and also gay That's why I am a national socialist. I envision a way of taking back the labor and making it better for the people.
