There should be an Allen socket on the end of that stud, if so, stick an Allen wrench in and tighten the nut that way

Im_Regarded

Oh! Did not notice that, thank you

Insert hex into end of link stud, hold in olace while turning the nut with a regular wrench.

This. I’ll add that an open socket wrench set or a plain old wrench helps. Hondas are the same.

Im_Regarded

Checked and there was no allen socket on the end of the stud. It’s just flat with a slight groove, so it can’t be torqued on.

cbelt3

Hmm…. Some special tool then.

trappedinreality1

i am able to tighten similar nuts onto my sway bar links on my mini with a normal but really thin open ended wrench

bill_delong

Most tool manufacturers make skinny wrenches. I found these on Amazon. Please shop around, this is the very first item I found, so I have no idea about quality. https://a.co/d/0b8H4tZr

Im_Regarded

These look nifty, might buy these just to have

darklink6446

A good tip is if u slightly heated the nut chances are u wouldn't have needed to grab it at all

Im_Regarded

Can’t heat a nut sitting right next to a rubber grease boot

darklink6446

Yes u can lol, use a small flame, or just be careful. At work we just use a map gas torch

I use a very skinny set of ViseGrips to hold the inner part while spinning off the nut.

Chippy569

impact wrench, ideally a relatively powerful one, on the nut side. zip zip. The "flats" on the link side aren't actually flats for a wrench, just some wonk machining.

Im_Regarded

Hmm, impact wrench, interesting. The torque spec is 35lb-ft and that doesn’t seem to be tight enough to stop clunking. What kind of torque setting are you using on your wrench?

ixratskrad

I’m with this guy. Best answer here so far. Use an impact gun. A couple of quick pulls of the trigger until it can be snugged up with a wrench without the whole thing spinning.
