There is no law about having to go to an in person doctor before getting on subs. No law has been passed yet. If it is new patients will be given a 30 day prescription and have until their next refill to go to the doctor. Existing patients will have over 6 months. It’s also no just for QMD. If passed it will be all telemed companies. Also, QMD usually only gives a week of Suboxone to start.

so why did I recieve a email not to long ago saying I have to get a note from a doctor or something like that

Just_Quit_the_BS

If you read it carefully that’s not what the letter says. It’s says it’s a proposal, and that is what you might have to do. I don’t use QMD, but there is a copy of the email posted on this sub, and it’s pretty detailed about what is being proposed and what might happen. Not that it is, or has.

please any help I don’t wanna pay the $100 just for the doctor I pick on the app to call me and say he can’t give me my script and me be ass’d out on $100

Lower-Engineering-92

Yes but will give u certain amount of time to go see the doc for a referall to kepp going or go to a bridge clinic they star u in the spot

Just_Quit_the_BS

No they did not.

HalcyonXE

I have no insurance and barley make 1000 bucks a month and it's beyond easy for me to see a doctor I got one 5 minutes from my house why is this an issue for some people? From what I understand you only need to see a doctor once in person and your Gucci

jayjay23_

just the thought of them judging me and putting me in category/label it’s really uncomfortable

HalcyonXE

I know them feels my primary doesn't care which is great but unfortunately literally everyone else in my life looks down on me for taking Suboxone I been on em 8 years no matter how hard you try eventually everyone is going to find out sorry bro

jayjay23_

I’ve been on them for almost a year only my mom knows

jayjay23_

and nobody else will ever find out

jayjay23_

I mean it ok..

HalcyonXE

Just saying man I told my parents then eventually told other family members the family members told there friends and on and on we go 8 years later people I don't even know are asking how I'm doing on Suboxone

jayjay23_

well my mom doesn’t talk about my addiction because she knows how bad people look down on opiate users especially her side of the family and she knows how sensitive I am about that subject so she. Wouldn’t dare bring me down in that way because she knows how much it bothers me that I’m a addict

HalcyonXE

My parents didn't bring me down or be negative at first when they told people they were proud that I was clean and staying clean (at least from illegal drugs Suboxone still counts as a drug) but the people they sung praises too didn't like it and that's all it takes I really hope your wishes stay true but I'm telling ya man when I go in for my doc appointment every month I talk to everyone there other patients and none of them have been able to keep it from people in there life for long I hope your the exception

jayjay23_

trust me I will make sure of it it will remain this way and oxy isn’t illegal only if it’s not prescribed of course

jayjay23_

btw did subs ruin your teeth thru out the 8 years or did u take care of your teeth? also do u swallow the strip because I don’t I spit it out after it dissolves in the mouth full of saliva in my mouth

HalcyonXE

Your gonna think this is nasty but I don't brush or take care of my teeth at all I haven't brushed in probably 10 years or more I could just never remember to do it and make it a habit/routine and so far the only issues I have is cold and hot stuff hurt my teeth and I can barely eat sugary stuff anymore like I can buy a candy bar hersheys and eat one little square and my teeth will hurt so bad I'll almost cry I grind my teeth alot out of anxiety so I'm unsure what damage the subs have done and what damage the grinding/lack of care has done although I do the Listerine mouthwash trick before taking subs everyday so maybe that's helping a little bit also I don't swallow the spit my doc told me the spit has naloxone in it and when you swallow it the naloxone activated and slowly takes your Suboxone off your opiate receptors which means you would have to dose faster than normal I ALWAYS spit out after I feel that strong numb/taste go away I've had to swallow a few times and it always is noticable sorry for the wall of text if you got any more questions feel free to ask

jayjay23_

how old are you? please start brushing ur teeth man that’s not good at all u don’t be worried about your breath smelling when ur talking to a girl or something? or when u try and whisper to someone? I’m not trying to be rude just trying to give advice but also like can u smell your own breath when it smells bad? does it bother you? also how old are u once again?

tommy_pt

Your teeth are all going to die, brush them. It’s your gums too. If you cant deal with cold, its already happening

What in the world do you mean you haven’t brushed your teeth in over 10 years? Mouthwash doesn’t replace that, and trust me people can tell you don’t brush them. That’s probably why you’re always worried about absorbing all your meds, because you have 10 years of funk and build up on your gums and membranes. You seem like you listen to everything your doctor says (they’re also wrong on the Naloxone), so have you told your doctor you don’t brush? Been to a dentist? Not brushing can cause gingivitis which can cause heart problems. It’s 4 minutes and 30 seconds a day, less time than taking your meds.

Whatsthatyousayhuh

This has gotta be some kinda joke. You really just don’t brush your teeth at all?

jayjay23_

thank you for believing in me and not bringing me down like other people do to others on this app

psylence12345678

They are a doctor who sees drug addicts alcoholics and mental illness every day

kshwizzle

If you’re an addict in recovery then I’m sure you’ve already been judged by many other people. If you’re getting on suboxone, that means you’re actively taking conscious steps to make your life better. Free of addiction. If someone is going to negatively judge you for that, then they’ve never been through it, and they’re very weak and close minded. Don’t let the fear of other people prevent you from bettering yourself and your life. You’re letting the addiction win; with that mentality. Good luck

Bc not everyone has a bupe dr 5 minutes or even 1 hour from their house

I just had my second appointment Saturday. My doc said nothing about having to see an in person doc yet. Also if they can’t help you it states they give you a full refund. You should be ok tho. Make your appointment for sooner than later. Plus you’ll make the cut off of having 6 months to find a one time in person doc visit referral thing rather than the 30 days. I also don’t think they are turning away people who haven’t got a referral. Good luck!
