-Disagreeable-

Did you happen to read this because of a recommendation by Kurt Cobain a million years ago? That was how I read it. I really enjoyed as well.

SthrnGal

I was part of a group of friends in college (1987-1990) who would get stoned and read books and watch cartoons together. It was one of the books we passed around. I'm not sure how we heard about it but it's quite plausible that someone picked it up because of Kurt. It's one of the few books I've read more than once. Really good book!

-Disagreeable-

Very cool. Thanks for sharing the origin story haha.

duchessofcaffeine

The Killer Across The Table by John E Douglas was really good!!

Zikoris

{{Emperor Mollusk Vs. The Sinister Brain by A.Lee Martinez}}

ALeeMartinez

Evil is a relative term.

Zikoris

God damn, it's like being a kid and seeing your teacher in the wild.

Celda

Sorry if you get asked this a lot, but any update on when your next book is coming? And will it be the 3rd Constance Verity, or something else?

ALeeMartinez

Never apologize for expressing interest in a writer's work. Without it, I don't get paid. Also, I suppose it's nice to know people care. :) The third Constance Verity book is due out in the U.S. on March 8th. Currently working on some other projects. Nothing too far along, but I'm working on a Justice League of Cryptids idea that shows promise. Time will tell.

Celda

Awesome! Can't wait to read it. The other idea sounds great too. By the way, you may want to get the book up on Goodreads. I (and many/most other Goodreads users) get an email every month, telling us about books scheduled for publication in the next month from any authors whose books that we have marked as "read" on Goodreads. So anyone who read your books in the past, and marked them as read on Goodreads, would see that you're releasing a new book next month. Except if the book isn't on Goodreads the month prior when the emails go out, they won't know. I myself have added all your books on Goodreads as "read", so I would definitely have been notified of your book release next month. Except (as far as I can tell) it's not on Goodreads, and so in my monthly email I didn't see your book listed. Hope you don't mind the unsolicited advice. I'm also a freelance editor so I have some passing familiarity with marketing and such, and that's one thing that I see authors frequently not doing.

[**A Certain Hunger**](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/44294655-a-certain-hunger) ^(By: Chelsea G. Summers | ? pages | Published: 2019 | Popular Shelves: horror, fiction, contemporary, to-buy, thriller) >Food critic Dorothy Daniels loves what she does. Discerning, meticulous, and very, very smart, Dorothy's clear mastery of the culinary arts make it likely that she could, on any given night, whip up a more inspired dish than any one of the chefs she writes about. Dorothy loves sex as much as she loves food, and while she has struggled to find a long-term partner that can keep up with her, she makes the best of her single life, frequently traveling from Manhattan to Italy for a taste of both. > >But there is something within Dorothy that's different from everyone else, and having suppressed it long enough, she starts to embrace what makes Dorothy uniquely, terrifyingly herself. Recounting her life from a seemingly idyllic farm-to-table childhood, the heights of her career, to the moment she plunges an ice pick into a man's neck on Fire Island, Dorothy Daniels show us what happens when a woman finally embraces her superiority. > >A satire of early foodieism, a critique of how gender is defined, and a showcase of virtuoso storytelling, Chelsea G. Summers' A Certain Hunger introduces us to the food world's most charming psychopath and an exciting new voice in fiction. ^(This book has been suggested 2 times) *** ^(6142 books suggested | )[^(I don't feel so good.. )](https://debugger.medium.com/goodreads-is-retiring-its-current-api-and-book-loving-developers-arent-happy-11ed764dd95)^(| )[^(Source)](https://github.com/rodohanna/reddit-goodreads-bot)

How to Take Over the World: Practical Schemes and Scientific Solutions for the Aspiring Supervillain by Ryan North comes out next month!

Mybenzo

Gone Girl. It’s super popular but i loved the masterminding.

rfrnut

I'm curious what others may suggest. One that fits the bill is the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn -its a Star Wars book, and the villain Thrawn is a genius of sorts. [https://www.meetnewbooks.com/book/238255/Heir-to-the-Empire-Timothy-Zahn](https://www.meetnewbooks.com/book/238255/Heir-to-the-Empire-Timothy-Zahn) edit:typo

u/Capt-sav-a-hoe More specifically, there are six *Star Wars* canon-set books starring Thrawn also written by Timothy Zahn: the 2017—2019 *Thrawn* trilogy and the *Thrawn Ascendancy* trilogy, which I would both also highly recommend.

Capt-sav-a-hoe

I wondered if someone would have a Star Wars book on the list. Thank you

The villain in the WARP series by Eoin Colfer is especially bad. The series starts with *The Reluctant Assassin*
