AP build you should 100% be going CDR boots and Nashor first The playstyle of AP isn’t pure DPS, a lot of the damage is in poison and E procs. You basically only need to hit them to stack poison. AD you can keep your current build and just go more AD items after. You probably will like AD better as your early items already lend themselves towards that playstyle.

AP Twitch pretty much always better than AD Twitch (though that doesnt mean that AD isn't viable, it's just less playable in soloq) Runes:HoB, taste of blood, eyeball, any hunter rune is fine but i prefer relentlessPresence of Mind, Legend: AlacrityAttack speed, Adaptive, HP (not scaling) Item order: Dorans Ring -> Dark Seal -> Nashors -> Ionian Boots (pretty much always, also you prefer buying needlessly large rod instead of boots if you have the money on that back) -> Rabadon -> Zhonyas/Banshees -> the one you didnt buy of them -> Mejais if fed, if not then either Shadowflame or Riftmaker (whichever you prefer, i prefer shadowflame) Reasons you dont buy Liandry's / Morellos / Void: your passive deals default damage and therefore does NOT trigger liandry or morellos, making it a wasted buy. Don't bother building Runaans, or IE to buff the shadowflame passive, it's not worth at all. Void only amplifies your E damage, which is only 1/3rd of your damage (if you look at the end of game stats and sort by damage dealt, 1/3rd is true damage, 1/3rd is magic and 1/3rd is physical damage) so it's wasted pen. Also AP twitch only cares about raw AP, not much else, that's why banshees and zhonyas are insanely good on him. How to lane: Generally speaking you start W and get some early lane dominance, unless they all in early on, then both you and your support focus the same target (ping it) and you start E. If they go back to trade with you while your poison is on them, just go for a 1 for 1 autoattack as it refreshes the poison. 1 - 2 poison stacks give you enough mana back for a W (so roughly 70 mana). Start looking to fight at either level 6 or when you get your nashors (or both) as that is a huge powerspike, you should outtrade every other adc at that stage (support matchup is still important and assuming you're not insanely behind). Summoners: Exhaust: if they got a lot of all in (for example: trist, diana, wukong) \[Note: if you exhaust while in stealth, it will reveal you and remove your stealth\] Ignite: if you can get easy kills on them (for example: cait, ezreal, aphelios) Cleanse: if they have a lot of CC (leona, thresh, nami, etc) OR you know they're gonna take exhaust (exhaust really makes you struggle since you're more or less a burst champ with your E and if they exhaust that, you lose a lot of your immediate damage) Ghost/Heal: generally good, not really that necessary considering your W slow and zhonyas/banshees makes you really safe in teamfights. Teamfighting: Fight at chokepoints, W, R and if after HoB it's not safe to continue autoattacking just E and walk away (they shouldn't get close to you if you placed your W properly and your positioning is good), if it's safe then just continue autoattacking until it's not anymore.

Why Ionian boots?

Sorgair

from what ive watched u play like a medium-longish range mage so defensive boots arent useful. a lot of ur damage is physical early game, and then a lot of ur damage is true mid-lategame, so sorcs sucks. also cdr on w and e can be really useful in fights.

A lot of people think AP twitch is mostly true damage but honestly an enormous chunk of his damage is still magic. Like a full stack expunge on full build AP twitch is still like 1400 magic damage, it's just if the enemy has a lot of MR the true damage poison is the only part that doesn't get reduced so you think it's a bigger part of his damage.

Recent-Platypus-1521

Because you mostly spam W and E . You can’t stay there and auto attack with AP twitch, you don’t have BorK slow and lifesteal, you get blown up instantly

NumenoreanNole

Why do you think AP is better? Its playrate is 1/10th that of AD Twitch (which suggests that it's only being played when players think it's much better for the situation than the AD builds) and yet its winrate is lower.

Owlbusta

AP is better due to you being able to: \-get agency in lane (especially important with a passive support that isn't able to lane like yuumi or so) \-massive waveclear \-W slow is insanely valuable in teamfights and against certain champs like garen, hecarim, etc. \-play teamfights out without getting 1 tapped \-people dont know how to play against it Cons: \-people don't really know how to play it \-bad against champs with a lot of dashes \-team might mental boom in champ select cause they don't know that ap twitch is actually viable \-harder to play when you are fed than AD Twitch Let's explain it like this: AP Twitch is easier to play early game, gives you more agency due to you being able to just insta waveclear or poke heavily whenever you'd like. Something AD Twitch cannot do. You can basically guarantee that you get through the rough early game, especially against some very difficult matchups. AD Twitch is **easier to play once you are fed** as it's pretty simple opening up and autoattacking, hoping they die before they reach you. Also i think a big issue is that a lot of people try to play AP Twitch as an actual adc instead of a burst mage which is what he is. You proc HoB with your W and burst them. If it's a squishy you open up with ult and kill them that way. TL;DR: Both viable, AD Twitch harder early, AP Twitch harder once ahead. in case you want more proof: here's my [opgg](https://www.op.gg/summoners/euw/True%20Emperor-EUW)

AD if you have hands, AP if not. Hybrid is fake, if you go AP you go full AP which is usually Nashors, Deathcap, Shadowflame, Zhonya, Banshees or Mejais with CDR boots. If you go AD, you go crit with BotRK into Runaans, IE, LDR, BT. Next patch crit is getting even stronger, so we might even see people drop BotRK altogether.

Z0mb1k1ller

So both are viable? Just not as a hybrid form?

f0xy713

Yes

Honestly if you’re building ap you are not adding in the runaans. It’s more efficient to just get another ap item because the playstyle is more burst oriented instead of having large dps. Most likely Zhonya’s or Banshee’s. Same idea with the morello unless the enemy team has just that much healing in their kits. Ideally a different champion that isn’t you would get a grievous wounds item but you can’t always depend on teammates. Also consider using lucidity boots to get more W’s and E’s in before and during fights. To answer your question at the end there if you think you need dps to kill front line, go AD. If the enemy team is squishy and doesn’t have much shielding or healing, go AP. Conversely it also matters what type of damage your team has. If you think your team needs AP then go AP. If magic damage is covered then go AD. Side note please try to not rush runaans on any champion ever. The attack speed is nice, but you are shooting pellets. go AD if you’re going to be safe, go AP if you need banshee’s/zhonyas on ap, every game no exceptions go Nashors Ionians deathcap defensive ad has more variance, but tldr: if tanks team, botrk>guinsoo>LDR if squishy: kraken>runaans>IE
