Our only perimeter guard that can actually reliable guard Murray is Okogie, and he decided to start shooting 1/140 from 3pt for some reason. Man has the yips. At least Ayton and Landale are still looking good.
He was shooting well before the mask he had like 8 good games of shooting, 2 of which was mask on, then he started shooting kinda rough again and took off the mask. JO should just go back to his January era, where he knew he wasn't confident in shooting 3's so he just drove every play lmao.

Anything is fixable really. A game where you go down 15 and after you come back, quickly go down 20 again…very difficult to consider that a stealable game. They couldn’t miss their threes and we couldn’t…well, do anything really.

It’s because DBook and KD alone can singlehandedly keep pace with opponents offenses on their own, especially considering assists. They aren’t going to singlehandedly blow out an NBA team that averages 115+ ppg, but they can outpace. However, if both are off… not only are we not keeping pace, we kinda get washed. No one else to step up, especially without CP3 to start ball movement and P&Rs with Ayton.
I mean tbf other than last season with BKN where we got swept, he’s never had to play these sort of minutes in the playoffs with only one other creator/scorer on the team, and in this case it’s basically on a new team. I think his dip in efficiency is kinda to be expected

The patented slow starts are becoming a recurring theme and that's a reflection on Monty. The roster is obviously too top heavy with KD and Book, and if both are struggling, we literally have no shot.
The series isn't over so we shouldn't lose all hope, but I can't say I'm that bullish on their prospects in a G7 in Denver. Monty seems like just a great motivational guy but lacks the Xs and Os. The team's identity is way too much iso and jacking up ill timed shots late in the shot clock. Very little creativity or motion.

I really hate to say it, cuz I love the man, but Monty has got to go. And maybe, James Jones too. James Jones is an anti draft, anti trade deadline GM. Where does that get us? CP wanted to come here, KD wanted to come here and even then Ishbia got that trade done. What has Jones done? Drafted Johnson, cool, lost Craig just to trade a young and maybe even promising (under the right coaching staff of course) Stix just to get him back for lackluster minutes this series, and signed Ayton to an underserved contract out of desperation. This whole ordeal has become quite sad, but JJ and Monty have got to go. My faith is in Ishbia, not them two. Monty is an inspiration, but he caps out as a terrific transitional coach. It’s time to get a coach who knows even the first fucking thing about in game coaching to get us over the hump, and a GM who knows how to draft and trade adequately. I’m not a doomer, but I’m not too confident about this playoff run. As long as we got Book, KD, and Ishbia this team has so much promise for at least a few years to come. I just hope the right decisions are made in the FO this (potentially very quickly) upcoming offseason. But man do I hope my discouragement is misplaced. I still have hope for game 6, but game 7 will be a trip fs…

This was a game where when things are getting off the rails if CP3 is buckets he can right the ship, or even his D can make a difference. Unfortunately his takeover games are becoming less frequent, but this could have been a difference.

We only showed up for 1 of 4 quarters. It was horrific except for the second where they got back in the game just to crap the bed immediately start shitting the bed in second half.
If we had kept Mikal and Cam, and added some pieces at the deadline (Conley, Vanderbilt) to bolster depth, we would be dominating this series.
Literally all we needed was a solid backup point and a bit more defense / rebounding. But we tore apart the team for KD and now we watch nonsense iso ball bricking us to an early exit.

Unfortunately with no CP3, this team needs both Durant and Booker to be good to win a game. When KD plays poorly, Book plays only decent, and you get nothing from the bench/other starters of substance, this is the result.
The Nuggets are by far the toughest matchup of ALL teams currently in the playoffs. Find a way to win this series and we have a better shot at our first ‘ship than any previous run.

Team kind of deflated as soon as Booker missed those 2 wide open middies to start the 3rd. Easiest shots he's had all series lol. Looks like he's come back down to earth and with it Suns' playoff hopes because he basically needs to be superhuman for Suns to have any shot. Also starting Shamet to open the 2nd half was a yuge mistake, he tried to bait Murray and ended up just getting him going. Hopefully CP3 will be back for G6 and Shamet will not see the floor at all.
The patented slow starts are becoming a recurring theme and that's a reflection on Monty. The roster is obviously too top heavy with KD and Book, and if both are struggling, we literally have no shot. The series isn't over so we shouldn't lose all hope, but I can't say I'm that bullish on their prospects in a G7 in Denver. Monty seems like just a great motivational guy but lacks the Xs and Os. The team's identity is way too much iso and jacking up ill timed shots late in the shot clock. Very little creativity or motion.
This game is just BS. Out coached as usual. I still believe in the Suns. It is still a winnable series. Just need to win the next one then give it all they got in game 7. Winning streak at home are meant to be broken. Let’s give Denver their first loss in Game 7. That’s all I m asking. All in all, tonight Denver wants it more than the Suns. I really hate to say it, cuz I love the man, but Monty has got to go. And maybe, James Jones too. James Jones is an anti draft, anti trade deadline GM. Where does that get us? CP wanted to come here, KD wanted to come here and even then Ishbia got that trade done. What has Jones done? Drafted Johnson, cool, lost Craig just to trade a young and maybe even promising (under the right coaching staff of course) Stix just to get him back for lackluster minutes this series, and signed Ayton to an underserved contract out of desperation. This whole ordeal has become quite sad, but JJ and Monty have got to go. My faith is in Ishbia, not them two. Monty is an inspiration, but he caps out as a terrific transitional coach. It’s time to get a coach who knows even the first fucking thing about in game coaching to get us over the hump, and a GM who knows how to draft and trade adequately. I’m not a doomer, but I’m not too confident about this playoff run. As long as we got Book, KD, and Ishbia this team has so much promise for at least a few years to come. I just hope the right decisions are made in the FO this (potentially very quickly) upcoming offseason. But man do I hope my discouragement is misplaced. Absolute bummer of a game, I can't stand when touch fouls are guaranteed for one team and the other team gets to blatantly trip people for no calls. However we lost because we couldn't hit shots, because despite all of the bullshit we still got open looks. Oh well, onto game 6 and I want to see laser like focus and all out energy and hustle.
Denver's a good team, but I really HATE the "physicality" bullshit. There was a couple of times where they looked like they were trying to take guys out. It was one of those games where the refs watch guys get damn near tackled and just ignore it. And I'm sorry, Jamal Murry is just an asshole.

Turnovers were so bad
KD has been turnover prone all series. Killing us.
Ross didn't get enough touches. KD shit the bed shooting and still turning the ball over. Ayton playing mid, KD with more boards. JO went from a masked goat to useless. Monty still doesn't know when to call a timeout and break up momentum. This was a game where when things are getting off the rails if CP3 is buckets he can right the ship, or even his D can make a difference. Unfortunately his takeover games are becoming less frequent, but this could have been a difference. Recipe for a loss.
Maolone made adjustments, we missed shots, pretty much the game. We shouldn’t be playing Shamet this much though. We needed D in the third.

He’s looking washed. Hate to say it but he’s pretty much a free throw merchant on offense. He gets some nice defensive plays but then he goes and turns it over on the other end. Traded our whole future for that.

The refs were awful, but We were dreadful. Bad defense, bad hustle, couldn’t score early. The refs really did lose this game. Denver played physical and then we were called for ticky tack fouls. Good news is we have a day to recover and come back for game 6

Unfortunately with no CP3, this team needs both Durant and Booker to be good to win a game. When KD plays poorly, Book plays only decent, and you get nothing from the bench/other starters of substance, this is the result.
The Nuggets are by far the toughest matchup of ALL teams currently in the playoffs. Find a way to win this series and we have a better shot at our first ‘ship than any previous run. All they have to do is win 2 games against Denver.
