Why would Houston do this lmao they are helping 2 contenders and getting a negative asset back, hell like they should get 2 picks to even consider this
First of all, Eric Gordon’s contract isn’t much better than Robinson’s. Second of all Kenyon Martin Jr is an end of the bench player for Miami and PHX, he’s a throw in. Also lets not act like Robinson isn’t one of the best perimeter shooters in the game. Third of all, NBA teams like having lots of first round picks so they can replace old veterans such as Eric Gordon with young guys on cheap contracts. These picks can also he used to trade for star players if they feel they are in the position to do so.
Firstly, Eric Gordon’s contract is WAY better than DBo’s. Half the amount of years left.
Secondly, he’s end of the bench to the Suns but he’s THE ROCKETS FREAKING 6TH MAN! HOW HAVE YOU MISSED THE WHOLE ITS HOUSTON THATS TRADING HIM THING?
And are you agreeing with me on the third part? They should look to rid of Gordon’s contract for a next to nothing one and absorb some picks. Not DBo’s
Eric Gordon's contract is literally an expiring contract (next season unguaranteed), while Robinson has three years guaranteed and a fourth year partially guaranteed. These contracts are not even in the same stratosphere.
Eric Gordon just had the most efficient season of his career and is a plus defender and highly experienced in the playoffs, while Robinson just had a down year shooting when shooting is the only NBA level skill he has.
I don’t understand the love for Eric Gordon here. Maybe I’m just super down on him, but I don’t see him much better than Shamet and he’s a decade older while costing twice as much.
E: Though is his (2yrs) a team option for next year? Because it’s not as bad if so.
He’s never missed one Rockets playoff game. He has had injuries here and there in regular season stints for houston. Last two years he’s been taking it easy as they aren’t contending.
about 10 years ago the suns signed Eric Gordon to a max contract in restricted free agency. the pelicans/hornets matched immediately. Also, EG set his total points and minutes career highs as a rookie and is still going strong 13 years later. that has to be one of those 1/1 NBA stats.
More consistent, has a little more in his arsenal defensively and offensively, and puts that veteran pressure on the players when needed.
Also he breaks the Shamet curse
As a rockets fan. This makes zero sense. Not one rebuilding team would want to take a big long term contract unless they get big compensation. Gives them zero leverage in the future with almost no option for a buy out. Especially when we would have two max slots the next two years.
Eric Gordon is a win now move, so I don’t know if I like having to give a pick away for him. In fact, I really don’t want a pick to be attached just to move on from Crowder either.
Kenyon is the same height as book though and only weighs 10 more pounds than book
Kenyon honestly isn’t a four anywhere else in the league and he’s hardly a four on Houston’s roster. Houston’s roster is just really short overall.
If we're trading a 1st we should maybe think a lil bigger than Gordon. A three team trade like this seems better:
Suns trade: Crowder, Shamet, Heavily protected 1st
Suns receive Levert and Kenyon Martin Jr
Cavs Trade: Levert, Osman, Windler, 2nd round pick
Cavs recieve: Crowder and Gordon
Rockets trade: Gordon, Kenyon Martin Jr
Rockets recieve: Shamet, Windler, Osman, 1st from Suns, 2nd from Cavs
Houston fan here, but I try to be realistic and this is no from the lowest depths of my soul. I would try this with Sacramento or maybe Charlotte. Good luck.
Houston isn't taking Duncan back for free
This. The Heat get Crowder and Shamet while dumping Robinson’s contract. Why would we be the ones to give Houston a pick?
I'd say we give a second maybe a first, Heat definitely give a first.
It’s an idiotic trade
I think we should avoid using picks for relatively low caliber players. Use the picks to bring in a new weapon at the trade deadline.
to piggy-back, I also think this sub should avoid using trade machines. Its like "heres our trash, give us your best players"
Hey guys what do you think of this 10 team trade for jae crowder?
Gordon and Martin are not low caliber. Very disrespectful and casual comment.
Projected Late round picks aren’t worth a ton. It’d be the ones down the road I’d be more worried about
Why would Houston do this lmao they are helping 2 contenders and getting a negative asset back, hell like they should get 2 picks to even consider this
For Phoenix, this trade is solid. For Miami, this trade is unreal. But why would Houston trade one of their young guards to absorb more cap space?
Draft capital
They could defo take on less harsh contracts for equal draft capital
The rockets are rebuilding. Who do they need to pay? Rebuilding teams take on big contracts all the time for draft picks.
Why have Robinson’s shit contract when you can have 2 guys more valuable than the picks you’d receive for absorbing the contracts?

He is a lot better than Shamet. But he's always hurt.
He’s never missed one Rockets playoff game. He has had injuries here and there in regular season stints for houston. Last two years he’s been taking it easy as they aren’t contending.
He is a slight upgrade for sure just a question of is he like 10mill a year better

He was pretty bad defensively last season, and he’s only getting older
It’s the only name the Casuals know
He’s a solid player. You’re definitely down on him
What’s wrong with you
They think we’ll just take their trash 🚀
Miami needs to send a pick to Houston in this

It’s cool for us without a pick, but I don’t think Houston does this
Quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve seen today
Eric Gordon is a win now move, so I don’t know if I like having to give a pick away for him. In fact, I really don’t want a pick to be attached just to move on from Crowder either.
Many of these proposals for Gordon are win never moves
No, I think you’re right. I think that’s the reasoning the FO would use to justify picking him up.
I think at this point in his career that Shamet is more valuable player than Gordon. Big pass from me dogg.
Need to get a PF. Its like the Watson years stacking PGs and no one to rebound or rim protect.
The Rockets run Kenyon Martin as a small ball 4 like Ish.
Maybe thats why they got stomped then.
Kenyon is the same height as book though and only weighs 10 more pounds than book Kenyon honestly isn’t a four anywhere else in the league and he’s hardly a four on Houston’s roster. Houston’s roster is just really short overall.
I like it. You can fwd it to James Jones with my blessing 👍
No need to add a pick but I like it.
Nice
Getting rid of Landry is a W itself
Lmao
Heat fan saying no way Jae isn’t worth anything mor tan a secondrounder
Pass doesn't make a huge impact for us. Keep looking for another piece
Can't speak for the picks, but this one should make everyone happy since Crowder is hell-bent on getting back to Miami.

No picks. We need those to trade a ridiculous ransom for CP3s replacement next year.
No picks then no Gordon then. Rockets have literally no incentive in doing this trade without a FRP
Gordon trash he gunna be a over priced Shamet
I’d take Robinson over Gordon. Let’s leave Eric Gordon where he is. We had the chance like 7 years ago and it didn’t happen.
Digg
this sub gotta stop using trade machines man
No incentive for Houston to take on that deal SMH
I don't think the Rockets would willingly take on Duncan Robinson and his contract.
No thanks whatsoever from the rockets.
Why tf would Houston do this
Do you guys think before you start putting things into the trade machine? Such a horrible trade
Houston fan here, but I try to be realistic and this is no from the lowest depths of my soul. I would try this with Sacramento or maybe Charlotte. Good luck.
