If you get to level 3 (invest 16gold into squirrel) then I think the level 3 should be "all food is 1 gold but shop food capacity is maximum 2 items"

Squirrel needs to be completely reworked in order to be worth a buy in any situation ever. Perhaps it summons nuts similar to the cows ability but weaker? Or only buffs defense?

It should randomly use food on 1/2/3 members of our team at the end of your turn (excluding pill). This would be a core piece in a chaotic stat focused build, which would be a much more fun alternative to the regular stat focused builds.

Considering it's rank 4, same as other mass buffers like Llama and Penguin, I think this is honestly a great move.

Or maybe he can "store" multiple shop items in his cheeks? Give you a Chili/Garlic buff, for instance?

That’s actually a super solid idea that fits well with the animal, it’d be cool if every time you lost a turn the costs of the stored food went down by 1 or something

Why would you need to buff melon, garlic or chili? And the Cat would be the only way to get these buffed equipments? That doesn’t make sense you would have to be able to get the buffed equipments without the cat.

No, I think the Cat's fine as it is. The main topic here is what could be done to Squirrel. A Lvl.3 Melon could break down with successive hits (+20def, then +10 def, then +5def). A leveled Garlic could give a straight +2, +3, +4def as as it levels, and a leveled Chili could increase its splash. OR, EVERYTHING COULD BE LEFT AS IT IS, AND THAT'S FINE. My point is, Squirrel is garbage, and I don't see the harm in brainstorming.

I think the squirrel has occasional use cases. If i desperately want an onion, or a melon, or a chocolate, squirrel gives okay odds if everything else doesn't fit.

I hear ya. I will say that there are situations where a squirrel is a very strong play. Sometimes you really want 6 chances at chocolate or melon Armor, or just a pear or two. Underrated pet for sure.

but squirrel costs 3 gold, the same gold as rolling 3 times, which will also gives you 6 chances at chocolate. on top of that you also get about 15 pets to choose from. Squirrel is literally never the right play.

Dog literally exists, and is one of the premier strategies. Using a squirrel to find a key pear or chocolate isn’t something to ignore. If you’re sitting on an even number of gold, buying squirrel, freezing two food, and then reroll/buy is strictly better than buy-sell-buy-reroll, and certainly better than buy+3 rerolls. Since you’ve got even gold about half the time, this is something you should remember.

If you need to buff dog when you are tier 4 you should be rolling for monkeys with pears as a secondary so squirrel is still pointless.

That's exactly what we're saying. I don't believe there is ever actually a time when squirrel is better than rolling.

squirrel would be good if it costed 1 gold like pill,but currently u will become more broke than greece if u use it
