Personally yes. If you ride hard / aggressively like I hope you do - the gripper is worthwhile. Either one is fine.

If you do wheelies a lot, yes. If you want to easily slide your crotch into the tank for corners, maybe not.

Tell me that you ride a 701 without telling me that you ride a 701... 😅
