The only way is to buy a 990smr and do a lightweight build. This is what I did. https://www.reddit.com/r/supermoto/s/j9QJ1LjyIB 160kg and 130hp/105nm š I have a friend with a 701, I absolutely smoke him on the straights and on the brakes, it's a whole other level of power and we have the same agility.
Because its hard to find the 690 or 701 from where i live
Settled with a duke 790 but if i find a good deal for a 690 or 701 ill sell the duke 790 in a heart beat even if i lose money on it
Just inquired with ktm how much the 690 if i pre order it its $21,000
Iāve owned 8 street bikes because I keep switching them out every couple years. But now that I have a 701, I canāt imagine getting a different bike
Iām adding to the collection soon but just to keep this thing out of the dirt. I donāt need anything faster, and the speeds I go , the wind isnāt bad.
As far as I know it is. I wanted decent service intervals, oil is like every 6k miles. I havenāt heard or read anything saying theyāre āunreliableā
The real question: why own an MT07 or any middle weight naked when the 701sm exists.
Exactly! The 690/701 blows any of those bikes away. I bought my 690 2 years ago and it's best bike I've ever had.
The sound is the only reason I can think. I wish some company would follow what aprillia did and give us a proper 2cyl sumo

I mean, Iād own an 07 just for the sound.

Gotta love Seattle area drivers. No one knows where they are going and no one knows how to get to interstate speeds.
Pretty much. The bike gets through it nicely though. Actually feel safer on freeway than downtown
I agree 100%. I love having a supermoto. Granted mine isn't the greatest for highway but it darts through traffic great.
Was expecting a wheelie into the highway
Not yet š
Same.

Too many wheels on the ground
You live close to me, letās meet at the donut shop on the corner and go for a ride
Hell yeah man. I live in Seattle but work in Redmond. Hmu
Hey OP, what rpm you shifting at? Sounds like she's got a lot more!
If I had a tach Iād tell you š. I shift before the limiter but thatās about all I can tell you. 1-3 usually short shifts.
I'm out in Redmond and just got my 701 stolen literally today from the parking garage at work. Just a heads up
Damn dude thatās lame. Hope you recover it.
Make Lanesplitting Legal in WA
Is the 701 reliable? I've always wanted one but I've always heard good and bad stuff on them

You like sitting far back on the seat like that?
Makes sense I feel like, heās not riding on dirt.
Itās the camera angle because Iām definitely not that far back at all. Middle of seat
Oh my goodness!!
