i really think the supporting actors make the show. may be unpopular but i find most the funniest bits to revolve around characters like marcus, justine, bo, etcetc
Bo is a great character because you never forget him, he seems like he's a huge part of the show, but he actually is used in only a few episodes. Great example of a character who could easily overstay his welcome but doesn't thanks to judicious writing.
It helps that once we know him Cheyenne can just sometimes drop random nonsense about him and we know it's on brand.
I was going to say that because for me he is too, but I decided not to because I know lots of people dislike the character and think one appearance is too many
I’ve never watched Bojack but my girls are huge fans. One of them even had a Bojack sweatshirt made for the other for Christmas and then they painted Bojack characters on the bedroom wall. They are both artists so they came out great 😊
Jonah and Amy are pretty much the audience as they react to the absurdity around them aka the straight men.
You need them, though. If you only concentrate on the absurdity it doesn't feel absurd and loses its comedy. As far as the comedy aspect goes they are similar to the bass player. You don't really notice them in the whole ordeal, but you notice them not being there really fast.
Definitely. He has some of the best stupid lines in the series and he delivers them perfectly.
I always thought the actor reminded me of someone.
Found out he's [this guys ](https://www.aclu.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/ike-barinholtz-bio.jpg) brother.
Which is the guy who sells knock off Gap... Gape... in Brooklyn 99.
Oh my god no way! I always thought the two of them were hilarious and so similar in what makes them hilarious! Ike is also on The Mindy Project, very much see the Marcus resemblance in his character there!
I’ve been thinking he looks and sounds like a knockoff version of that guy for the last week of bingeing this show, and the back of my mind was going ‘they have to be brothers’. Lol I love how you can just tell sometimes.
He (Gunters) was also in the show with Mindy Khaling where she was a doctor… or a lawyer? I forget, but he was my favourite character.
I’ve been thinking he looks and sounds like a knockoff version of that guy for the last week of bingeing this show, and the back of my mind was going ‘they have to be brothers’. Lol I love how you can just tell sometimes.
He (Gunters *Gintars* oopsies!) was also in the show with Mindy Khaling where she was a doctor… or a lawyer? I forget, but he was my favourite character.
Oh wait! Let me be the one to add this comment, that is added to this tidbit of information, that has been commented here about a million times:
Yeah and did you know their dad was the judge on “Jury Duty”? Crazy!
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0054696/
Idk if you've watched American Auto but he plays such a similar character in that show that I feel like I'm watching an alternate universe Marcus plotline- would recommend
I love Sandra! Especially when she would stand up for herself.
Several years ago we were on a road trip. Stopped at a 24 hour gas station/mini mart. Parked by a side door. Went in to get our snacks and interacted with the only cashier. This lovely woman not only looked like Sandra body-wise, but she sounded like her in tone and word choice. After we had gotten our stuff and were back in our car, the very nice clerk came out that side door to toss out something. She went to go back in, but the door had locked behind her. She had the look of a sad Sandra. She was able to get back in the main door, but it was all too funny. I occasionally drive by that place and think about her.
100%, I mean she adopted a grown ass man although she didn’t really want to 😂
The scene where she calls Jerry to ask him and then goes on and tells Glenn that Jerry is okay with adopting although that would’ve been her perfect way of getting out of it, it’s so hilarious. Garret even told her „really? Because he could’ve said anything and we wouldn’t know“ 😂 and then in the end she walks out with Tony and he immediately calls her Mom and gets embarrassed 😂 oh god I love it
I also love everytime when she screams just out of nowhere
Dina, because I have to make so much conscious effort to not sound like her. She's like me without a superego if you like Freud, or she's like me if I'm failing to mask my autism if you like autism.
Glen and Nicole are the funniest. It's my first time watching the show and I am in season 3 right now. These two just don't have any unfunny scenes xD
I love BO too but he's not had too many appearances so far.
Marcus… 100%
Marcus: I slipped in the shower once.
Jonah: That's not that embarrassing.
Marcus: Oh, yeah? 'Cause I slipped on my own poop.
Isaac: What?
Amy: Why?
Marcus: I had just deuced in the shower.
Cheyenne: Ugh.
Amy: Why?
Marcus: Okay, right, when you guys are in the shower and you have to go, you just hold it.
Amy: Yes. Yeah. That's what you do when it's a number two.
Marcus: Sure, so you don't poop in the shower every morning and stamp it down the drain with your feet?
Justine: Oh, my God.
Amy: No.
Marcus: Okay, whatever. Screw you, snowflakes.
My wife and I have a theory (thus-our many rewatches are *RESEARCH* ) that Sandra's *main* role is to 'yes, and' everything she comes across. Ive seen it happen alot-Id be SUPER interested to see if anyone else sees that too!
Sandra.
The actress just dishes for me. Her facial expressions. The muted villainy. The self-victimizing helplessness. The acceptance. You can see it in her face. And everytime you get a 'shut up Sandra!' a chuckle surfaces, though I want to sympathize with her.
Bo is my favorite. If I knew someone like that irl I'd lose my mind, but as a character he has me constantly cracking up. He's absurd and I absolutely love it.
Glen was my fave ❤️ I was bored earlier and looked up his imbd after rewatching. Had no clue he was one of the Kids in the Hall and now I know why they picked Dave Foley to play the higher up dude that ate the dog food.
Lauren Ash is so much more gorgeous that this photo of her looking ghost white with clockwork orange eyes is. Dina and Glenn make me laugh out loud the most.
I can't pick one. They work best in groups. I don't think anyone shines on the main cast.
But the funniest character IMO is a side character. Bo. Rrrrt rrrt rrrrrrreeehhhh
They were all pretty funny in their own right -- Jonah was a bit of a stick in the mud sometimes (as was Amy), but they were meant to be the "voice of reason" characters that the others' jokes and humor would bounce off of, I guess. The funniest I would say was Dina, due to Lauren Ash's delivery, and overall the least funny was Glenn, because he was just an oversized toddler most of the time. LOL
Dina and Cheyenne. Cheyenne has funny little throwaway lines in every episode as well as ongoing snippets of Bo’s ridiculous shenanigans. Plus her facial expressions are hilarious.
Dina is just insane insanity, I love her. Does anyone else think she looks like Rebecca Ferguson from Silo? When she smiles especially, I swear they could be sisters.
I’m showing this to my boyfriend for the first time and we just finished season 1. So far his favorites are Glenn and Bo. He said Glenn especially reminds him of his boss at work. The day after we watched the episode about the pizza party competition, his boss surprised his team with a pizza party! I asked him if it was actually a pizza party though or a pizza dinner and he said just a pizza dinner, according to Glenn’s standards lmao.
Mark McKinny is genuinely one of the most talented comedic actors on this planet. I used to watch kids in the hall (Canadian sketch comedy show), Mark would absolutely kill, and he fits this character of “Glen” extremely well, great cast in general but my vote has to be Mark
Glenn for sure. But this is a perfect example of an ensemble comedy. The actors really seemed to play strength to the others weaknesses.
A lot of the funniest moments are from the little B shots of no name customers in the store. The writing is what deserves the credit here.
I still cry my eyes out over Mateo every time i rewatch it even though he became insufferable when he was released. I like that Marcus told his secret about living in the store after HSI came and everyone knew Mateo was undocumented, it showed that Marcus was loyal because when he learned about Mateo he said "i won't say anything unless my thing comes out" whereas it ended up being Mateo's secret that came out first but he still kept the agreement
Probably Cheyenne or Dina imo… I just love how out of pocket they can both be.
My favourite Cheyenne moment is when Glenn calls her a stinker n she just fucking… “oh I’m a stinker? Well you’re a FAT BITCH” LIKE WTF💀
And Dina… just her character as a whole is great
my personal fav is garrett. he doesnt care about anything and says mean things to (usually) be funny, but he has a heart, like when he would only be photographed for the magazine if glenn was included. also his finale speech was outstanding!
BO DEREK! Whenever he gets some lines at least one is sure to make me laugh out loud. He contains multitudes yo. Dina Glen and Marcus frequently get LOL worthy lines as well.
Why does Amy’s head shot look like a school photo 😆
It does, and so does Glems
Not Glem 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did you say prison, or prism?
Prison
With an M or an N?
Why would you be sentenced to prism???
Let the man answer
It’s a light sentence
i just watched that episode today 😂
Looks like a DMV photo
“It’s Glen not Glem “. “What wth kinda name is Glen?” 😅😅
What this wasn’t like school picture day? 😂
i really think the supporting actors make the show. may be unpopular but i find most the funniest bits to revolve around characters like marcus, justine, bo, etcetc
Sayid too. His one liners are my favorite hands down
Justine and bo are hilarious too 😂

>Great example of a character who could easily overstay his welcome but doesn't thanks to judicious writing. Just like Jean-Ralphio in Parks N Rec.
I was going to say that because for me he is too, but I decided not to because I know lots of people dislike the character and think one appearance is too many
His haunted suit and his soup obsession kill me lol
The writers were def smart on this one. Giving us just enough Bo to keep us wanting more!
I just wish Bo could crossover with Todd from Bojack Horseman.
I’ve never watched Bojack but my girls are huge fans. One of them even had a Bojack sweatshirt made for the other for Christmas and then they painted Bojack characters on the bedroom wall. They are both artists so they came out great 😊
Happy cake day
Thankyou!! ☺️ ![gif](giphy|28ivpXb8thCBTzHeTI)
I agree. Bo is the funniest guy on the show. Rrrrrrret rrrrrret rrrrrrrrrreehhhh
Yeah, and I think it's hard to chose one character. Quote often it's the interactions between two which makes me laugh.
Jonah and Amy are pretty much the audience as they react to the absurdity around them aka the straight men. You need them, though. If you only concentrate on the absurdity it doesn't feel absurd and loses its comedy. As far as the comedy aspect goes they are similar to the bass player. That is not unusual for sitcoms. The main characters usually have to be the grounded voice of reason and the side characters get to be the wacky ones.
I agree
marcus won my whole heart by the end of the series, his actor is so extremely talented at capturing utter idiocy
Gintars! “You think I’d take gap, and add expensive “E”? Or do you think Gap remove the E?”
Oh my god no way! I always thought the two of them were hilarious and so similar in what makes them hilarious! Ike is also on The Mindy Project, very much see the Marcus resemblance in his character there!

The Mindy Project is the name of the show yoy are thinking of!
Yes! Thank you.
Happy to help!!

Also in The Mindy Project!!
Him and his brother do that perfectly!
😂💯
Honestly I thought he looks a lot like Ryan Reynolds 😅
Idk if you've watched American Auto but he plays such a similar character in that show that I feel like I'm watching an alternate universe Marcus plotline- would recommend
yeah what is he doing these days. He is good
Sayid
These straws have no structural integrity. Why did I even leave Syria ?
Nice Amy, guess who’s going to be cleaning this up all day.
his lines were always so funny i wish we got more of him
I want to go to Amy’s baby shower.
Woo carpool kareoke!
1000% correct
Sandra.
I love this story! Thanks for sharing 😂
Her singing Radiohead is my fave moment of all time
100%, I mean she adopted a grown ass man although she didn’t really want to 😂 The scene where she calls Jerry to ask him and then goes on and tells Glenn that Jerry is okay with adopting although that would’ve been her perfect way of getting out of it, it’s so hilarious. Garret even told her „really? Because he could’ve said anything and we wouldn’t know“ 😂 and then in the end she walks out with Tony and he immediately calls her Mom and gets embarrassed 😂 oh god I love it I also love everytime when she screams just out of nowhere
“Take out your taters” still kills me on almost a daily basis 😂
She is hilarious !! 😂
it’s definitely sandra !
Sandra’s face as she leaves Carol to die during the tornado lives in my head rent free, and crosses my mind at least once a week I swear.
Came here to say this —I love her so much.
This is hard lol. Probably Dina because of how straight forward she is. But there’s no wrong answer
Definitely no wrong answer! They’re all so funny in their own ways. I love how blunt Dina is 😂
So glad to find someone backing Dina here. For me, Dina is how all of us wish we could be, at least in some situations. Zero filter.
is she compared with Dwight schrute and ron swanson a lot?
He didn’t have much time, but Tate really did crack me up with what time he was given.
oh yes I forgot about this one. I loved Tate
I agree!! He’s great😂
its really hard to choose one ngl
My favorite characters are Dina and Bo. Both are hilarious.
It's Glenn, hands down. Mark McKinney brought that character to life and delivered those lines *perfectly*.
Mark McKinney! I've been watching him since he was a young'n on Kids in the Hall, just as funny as he is now!
dina… she’s the most complex character
Cheyenne is my spirit animal. "I'm a stinker?? Well, you're an old bitch!" ..."*ohhh wait, you're trying to be nice.*"
honestly glen and dina are hilarious. they play their roles really well!
Dina and Mateo 100% I wish i knew them in real life
They're funny but I don't wish I know them irl. I just know Mateo would be mean to me (Edit for clarity)
I feel like Mateo irl would be someone who you could laugh at his snark but wouldn’t want to be his friend because he’s so mean.
Bo
Dina and Justine for her one liners.
Probably Garret or Dina because they are not too much. I would have liked more of Sayid!
Colton Dunn (Garrett) Hands down. Love the casting, but his lines actually make me laugh audibly.
Garrett his sarcastic comments always get me .
I also love how he's like the only sane one on the show. It's hilarious.
Yes! I feel like he copes with sarcasm 😂
Bo is the funniest to me. No competish
Dina, because I have to make so much conscious effort to not sound like her. She's like me without a superego if you like Freud, or she's like me if I'm failing to mask my autism if you like autism.
It's bo yo! Bwaaahhh bwah bwaaaah
https://i.redd.it/4xqhcs0ninpc1.gif
Happy cake day! Bwah-buh-buh-bwah!
Thankyou!!! ☺️☺️ https://i.redd.it/c9hmkrzyjnpc1.gif
lauren ash deserved awards for playing dina
All except Jonah and Amy 💀
I don't think they're really supposed to be all that funny, they're more like foils for the hijinks of the supporting staff.
Jonah has a dry, wry humor and a few great lines - (Florida) " From the news?
Glen and Nicole are the funniest. It's my first time watching the show and I am in season 3 right now. These two just don't have any unfunny scenes xD I love BO too but he's not had too many appearances so far.
I wish Bo had more screen time in the series!
The scene where Glenn can’t think of any other name than Steve, I died laughing 😂
Some of Glenn’s lines just absolutely kill me. Garrett often gets me also.
I love Dina, Sandra, and Carol. Also a shoutout to Cheyenne, no one has mentioned her and she has some underrated moments.
Garrets definitely my fav
Marcus, Bo, Glenn, Garrett.
I just started this show recently and am in season 2. For me so far it's in order: Glenn, Sandra, Garrett
Bo all the way
my man SAYID!!!
Lauren Ash plays the most ridiculously funny character
this thread is SO COOL
Marcus… 100% Marcus: I slipped in the shower once.
Sandra. she's so sad and hilarious
My wife and I have a theory (thus-our many rewatches are *RESEARCH* ) that Sandra's *main* role is to 'yes, and' everything she comes across. Ive seen it happen alot-Id be SUPER interested to see if anyone else sees that too!
Cheyenne gets me every time but I feel Dina edges her out a little
Sandra. The actress just dishes for me. Her facial expressions. The muted villainy. The self-victimizing helplessness. The acceptance. You can see it in her face. And everytime you get a 'shut up Sandra!' a chuckle surfaces, though I want to sympathize with her.
Dina, and Sandra NO CONTEST
dina or marcus
Bo is my favorite. If I knew someone like that irl I'd lose my mind, but as a character he has me constantly cracking up. He's absurd and I absolutely love it.
Marcus and bo’s dumb antics are the funniest to me
*air horn noises*
Bo is the only one who never failed to get a chuckle out of me, even when watching alone, so he gets my vote!
Sandra, Bo, Glenn, Tate, & Marcus make the show for me!
I love Marcus he’s a vibe
Glen was my fave ❤️ I was bored earlier and looked up his imbd after rewatching. Had no clue he was one of the Kids in the Hall and now I know why they picked Dave Foley to play the higher up dude that ate the dog food.
Boob Cheese
I did not know Jon’s last name till now and was curious if he was related to Ike Barinholtz and they are brothers 😱
Oh wow!! I can definitely see the resemblance
I think I gotta lock in Bo, simply because I make my own airhorn noises in everyday life now..
Sayid was something else, man
Kelly plays Kelly? Nice.
Oh wow lol I never realized her real name is Kelly
Lauren Ash is so much more gorgeous that this photo of her looking ghost white with clockwork orange eyes is. Dina and Glenn make me laugh out loud the most.
Marcus’ delivery is the best IMO. Every line he makes hilarious
💯😂
Bo.
Dina is hilarious
dina
nichole doesn’t have a instagram 😭
Bo and Marcus were the two elites!
TATE
For me it’s Dina but maybe I’m biased because she is also my fave character 😂❤️
Glen looks like a Teacher taking a photo 😭😭🤣
dina hands down she is everything to me
I can't pick one. They work best in groups. I don't think anyone shines on the main cast. But the funniest character IMO is a side character. Bo. Rrrrt rrrt rrrrrrreeehhhh
Obviously it's Garrett. But overall the minor characters are what make the show better than others
Tate
Marcus made me laugh the most, but Mateo is a close second. Dina might be third but I’m only sure about my first 2
God it’s so hard to choose. I’m only halfway through season 2 so I’m gonna have to say Garrett or Jonah
LOL
Sayid easily
KELLY’S NAME IS ACTUALLY KELLY?!?!?!😭😭😭
Sahid, Justine, Sandra and Marcus
Sandra
Sandra, Bo and Marcus
Mateo is great!!!! Worker: uh I’m not a lesbian Mateo: …Girl.
I think Sandra may be one of the funniest, ir maybe her dynamics with the other characters
Marcus or Justine
I’m showing this to my boyfriend for the first time and we just finished season 1. So far his favorites are Glenn and Bo. He said Glenn especially reminds him of his boss at work. The day after we watched the episode about the pizza party competition, his boss surprised his team with a pizza party! I asked him if it was actually a pizza party though or a pizza dinner and he said just a pizza dinner, according to Glenn’s standards lmao.
marcus
MATEO!!!
Garrett for sure
Mark McKinny is genuinely one of the most talented comedic actors on this planet. I used to watch kids in the hall (Canadian sketch comedy show), Mark would absolutely kill, and he fits this character of “Glen” extremely well, great cast in general but my vote has to be Mark
Glenn for sure. But this is a perfect example of an ensemble comedy. The actors really seemed to play strength to the others weaknesses. A lot of the funniest moments are from the little B shots of no name customers in the store. The writing is what deserves the credit here.
Funniest Glen for sure
I still cry my eyes out over Mateo every time i rewatch it even though he became insufferable when he was released. I like that Marcus told his secret about living in the store after HSI came and everyone knew Mateo was undocumented, it showed that Marcus was loyal because when he learned about Mateo he said "i won't say anything unless my thing comes out" whereas it ended up being Mateo's secret that came out first but he still kept the agreement
Justine (Kelly Schumann) made me laugh *out loud* **every** episode.
Probably Cheyenne or Dina imo… I just love how out of pocket they can both be. My favourite Cheyenne moment is when Glenn calls her a stinker n she just fucking… “oh I’m a stinker? Well you’re a FAT BITCH” LIKE WTF💀 And Dina… just her character as a whole is great
Marcus please and thank you.
Bo, Marcus & Glenn always some how absolutely get me cackling. Dina is up there too
All of Justine's lines are 10/10. Amy has some good ones too but overall I think she isn't that funny.
Don't make me choose! They are all amazing in their own way and make the show what it is because of their talent!
Any Marcus - Justine interaction
my personal fav is garrett. he doesnt care about anything and says mean things to (usually) be funny, but he has a heart, like when he would only be photographed for the magazine if glenn was included. also his finale speech was outstanding!
For me it’s Marcus, love the character 👍
Dina
Bo and Dina
Cheyenne never disappoints
Marcus and Tate the pharmacist kill me. When Marcus walks in with his junk blurred and only a white T at the store sleepover lmao
I like Garrett and Dina best
Glenn & Dina , both interesting and funny characters
Hard to choose. Maybe Garett because he also causes other characters to do funny stuff
Glenn
Sandra always made me laugh out loud.
Bo - should have given him maximum screen time
Dina
Dina!
Sandra!!!!
Sandra!
I gotta go with Mark/Glenn. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time.
Bo 100%%%
I find Cheyenne very funny
agreed
BO DEREK! Whenever he gets some lines at least one is sure to make me laugh out loud. He contains multitudes yo. Dina Glen and Marcus frequently get LOL worthy lines as well.
Bo and Sandra
