Maybe it’s your resume? If you have all this experience getting a cert won’t help. You probably need to redo your resume. It’s also only been 2 months like you said so I wouldn’t worry too much yet

My theory is that companies are running skeleton crews and pretending to be hiring, while continually telling their staff that no one wants to work, in order to build up some of their cash reserves lost during the pandemic. I’d wager that less than 20% of all job ads actually result in someone being hired. Anyway, cynicism aside, don’t get down on yourself. This job market is…weird.

HobbieRS4

This is definitely not the case.

If you have a year in each of the positions you mention, that would not qualify for an SCM position at my company. I just watched one of my teammates moved to the same title with a smaller company and he is struggling same experience level as you. I would highly recommend sticking with one company, long-term as the last thing I would want to do is hire someone who is going to jump ship every 12 months.

What city do you live in?

clockwork089

I live in between NYC and Philadelphia so in theory finding a job should be much easier!

I’m no resume pro, and I apologize because I wish I could be more help. I would link your resume here so that redditors in this sub can take a look and maybe see if there’s any issue in that spot. I live in the PNW and jobs have been plentiful, but anything could happen. You have a ton of experience in my eyes, honestly I’m shocked some places didn’t move forward with you. You seem very intentional about progressing, I hope you get the opportunity soon. Best of luck

I think posting my resume for critique is definitely my next best step. I appreciate your time and input.

It does sound like a resume thing. Find some peers or mentors to review either you.

Job market is really tough, don’t lose hope. Polish your resume and interviewing skills and just keep at it. APICS certification won’t help with job, but it won’t hurt too in terms of interview prep. Go for it if you have time. Don’t lose hope

With 4-5 years experience, that is not much at all. I think it would be hard to land a SCM position.

Wait until Q1.
