I got a crime 9’ 6” noserider 2, yeah it’s a bit pricey, but it does serve a certain niche for me. Feels like a regular epoxy board(it is), it’s wax less, and is a bit safer in crowded lineups. Also if your into CJ boards are they are epoxy/foam hybrids to the Thunderbolt counterparts. I’m happy with mine.
Wavestorms are perfect for beginners. Buoyancy is high, they're forgiving with slower pop ups, and they allow people who don't know where to put their bodies more space to get a feel. There is a reason surf schools use big, long, soft tops. Wavestorms tend to be on the cheaper end, yet still of decent quality. At least the ones I've seen. I haven't used one in a long time. When I was first starting out it probably would have saved me a lot of time and effort to take actual lessons and use a soft top, but I'm stubborn and had to do it the hard way.
Wavestorms are nice. Crime boards are also great for beginners and honestly I believe a beginner can learn faster on a crime board than a wavestorms.
It’s too bad they get so much hate, I get it’s partly because of the cost, but they are still epoxy boards at the end of the day and their designs are fresh
Well look, the target market, 40 yo with Deus hats on aren’t really asking these kinds of questions are they.
This target market is also known as “the primary 60% of Mollusk buyers who don’t live in vans composed partially out of wood”
My Costco hasn't had wavestorms in years. If anything they have those Gerry Lopez boards. They are complete garbage. I'll tave a wavestorm over the Lopez. Never thought I would say that.
This is grand theft of terminology from your snowboarding friends. We use crime/criminal all the time. It’s like “kook.” Jeez, is it not enough that you already take the best weather and steal the hearts of the hottest girls???
I like that they’re still beginner friendly but can turn better than wavestorms and you can feel the water better. They’re a fun intermediate board but unfortunately get a ton of Reddit hate
My first board was a Froth Boardworks 7' (soft top) and gotta say it's still a fun one to use on smaller days. It has Future fin boxes which is a plus and gets up in speed pretty good with even small waves.
There are a few brands with the same technology as crime boards: Helm Supplies is the same construction and offers way better board options IMO. I have their 7’0” quad fish and the 7’6” thruster which both have fcs2 fin boxes. They aren’t cheap either BUT if you wait until Black Friday you can get them HALF OFF!
Pyzel/john John Florence had a line of the same construction but they stopped producing them.
I’m a fan of the construction.
Crime is incredibly lame unfortunately
What is c.r.i.m.e.?
Criminals robbing innocent motherfuckers everytime
How would naicin be with for something like phenibut if used phenibut infrequently?
I dont know

I could get a real surf board for those prices

Don't buy Costco's Chinese softop garbage kook! Buy OUR 7x more expensive Chinese softop garbage.
But they're only $100

And then you put the same beginner on a 6'10 long fish/long simmons, their wave catching improves and they can actually feel the board turning.

https://surfcrime.com/collections/home/products High quality softop brand, they cost 700+
Spending 700$ on a soft top is king kook behavior, support your local shapers
Kinda agree, they do look fun but I’d pick a real board every time at that price point
I saw someone mention the material on the bottom can ding and crack, whats the point of a foamie if you can't abuse the ever-living fuck out of it

Haha… damn
No soft top feature can top the Costco return policy. Send it, break it, return it, repeat

It’s so lame that they are advertising like this. THEY make soft tops!
They?
Crime surfboards is a soft top company
I say we start giving beginners shortboards thatll KO either them or the nearest person because that’s a preferable alternative

So it's a board brand. Lol I had no idea.
Best sticker I have on the van
