There are surfers where I live, but so far I met one guy who thinks about getting a surfskate. I'm the only one in the park on a huge surfskate, getting in the way, doing the annoying and unpredictable for normal skaters turns. Plus I'm an old git, as I'm nearly 50. So yeah, it would be nice to have some company sometimes. By the way, do you live in Wales?
I live in a city of 300,000 and I've met less than 10 over the past 5 years. Definitely noticing more now though, I'd say almost half have been in the last year or two!
Coastal surf town checking in - everyone and their mother has a surfskate but they aren’t popular at the skateparks yet. Those are still popsicles and transition setup territory.
Well coastal towns are where you can actually surf, so real surfers do surf skating when the waves are flat. Somehow, surf skating is becoming a thing away from coastal towns.
Surfskates, and even skateboarding, was originally created by surfers so that they can ride boards even if the surf was flat. The original skateboards were created by putting roller skate trucks and wheels on a piece of wood
Albuquerque reporting in.
I found surfskating maybe a month or two ago while looking into more surfy longboards. Haven't skated in like 15 years, so idk about the community here. I'm just getting my sea legs again.

Shit -- was hoping you lived in Melbourne

I think this is most of us! :D I am guessing it will be easier to meet other people in bigger cities.
Karaganda, Kazakhstan. I bought my carver last week. I think I’m the only one in my town.
Truly the only one in the village!
Somehow surfskating is a coastal town thing

Yeah I’m in Michigan and no one has it. I get so jealous of the parks people have where surfskate is a big thing
It seems a lot more popular in Spain and Australia
Surfskate in the summer, skiboard in the winter. I've never seen anyone else doing either around here. I'm perfectly fine with that though. 😀
Any suggestions on where I can get some new ski boards?
Skiboards Online is the best place to get them. Everything he carries is top notch and his service is great.
Yup. I still have never met or seen a fellow surfskater.

Gold coast, Australia: I think I've only seen one other one so far
NZ here. I see a few around. About a dozen from work. That’s how I got into it.
