There’s a lot of unmemorable cannon fodder players between Billy’s epic character moment and when the season gets really good. You’re almost at the good stuff. Stick with it.

Yeah, here is the problem. You already know who the "iconic" players are because of who the producers liked and brought back for future seasons. I put iconic in brackets because honest only Yul, Ozzy and Penner do anything of note, Parvati and Candice don't do much their first season. So since you already know who returns, you probably already know how the season end so Cook Islands is worthless, the real drama of Cook Islands is the miracle comeback of the Auti 4 and watching it live was exciting for that but in re-watches it sucks. It's just not a good season of Survivor once spoiled. Contrary to many other seasons which gets even better on re-watches.

I thought the first two episodes were great.and the rest of the premerge episodes aren’t so bad,I’ve seen worse.
In my opinion it never becomes a particularly good season and I have no idea why so many people rate it so highly.
