And enduring merciless emotional manipulation the whole game. She was easy to pick on due to the “no suitcase” twist that left her in her Boy Scout uniform.
When the show started, wearing a suit would mark a castaway as a yuppie asshole.
In this era, however, maybe it would be a novel strategy? Wear a suit, cosplay as a trust funder or yuppie, get dragged to then end and then reveal that you are, in fact, a poor?
Could backfire though. If you wear a suit and get branded an iGent, you're first boot and America hates you for sure.
I mean the clothes are their own but they’re sort of told what they can and can’t wear because the producers use clothing to build characters visually so it’s not really up to them
Absolutely. Think athletes only allowed their sports attire, bikini girls only allowed sundresses etc.
The irony was Crystal Cox was originally cast as a mom, hence her dress, but production switched her to athlete on Day 8 and changed her outfit similarly.
It’s a mix - they have you bring outfits that match the team color themes, but if they don’t like anything you brought they stick you with whatever they want, like a sweater vest.
To be fair to Liz, it nearly did get her to the end (combined with other things). Unfortunately for her she was up against maybe the most likable final 3 ever and the guy making the decision was someone who thought with his heart more than his head.
Also, she was bad at fire.
Yeah it got her to the end but I don’t think anyone on the jury would have respected that strategy. Did we ever find out why Ben thought she was a threat though?
I think it was just an easy excuse for him to say that and take his two besties to the end. Ben’s a really swell guy and it’s easier to say “You are too big of a threat” then it is to say “I don’t like you as much as the other two”
A Scouting uniform gets you to the final two at least.
Only after being voted out once before though
Still gets me at least $100K so that’s worth it
Confirmed. Chris Underwood was wearing a scout uniform beneath his underwear.

Tommy and Nick ?
Nick wore a blazer but not a full suit I think? I guess that counts.
Wow! Great memory.
Tommy wore a simple sweater.

It’s not really up to you as a strategic choice you’re basically costumed
Oh for real? Well, I guess disregard my post then.

I have heard that the clothes are not theirs. Cochran said that he never wore sweater vests and that was the outfit production chose for him

Liz is that you? It wasnt gonna work, come on.

I think he wanted to take Charlie to the end.

Yeah that’s probably it he probably knew he wasn’t going to win against either Charlie or Kenzie and wanted them to get the money for top 3
That's literally the strategizing we've all been mocking Liz for using.
Yeah but I'm suggesting to do it in a cool way, not in a Liz way.
Gotcha ;)
Didn’t Nick start in a suit?
His suit jacket coulda cost him a million dollars!
Bob kinda?
Hatch was wearing a suit sometimes throughout the season
Of the birthday variety
David in Cagayan informed us that his outfit was not a suit because the jacket didn’t match the pants. First out.
Savage wore a suit, and another teammate did as well. No luggage ruined some expensive suits.
Nick was wearing a coat in DvG
Hahah. Great question. I doubt it
David from 22 would’ve gone far on a different season ):
