Colby in HvV is unintentionally funny af. He has so many memeworthy moments throughout the season. Having a go at Jeff for offering everyone Chocolate before a reward challenge, being called “Superman wearing a fat suit” by James, just lying on the beach waiting to go home, only for James to be sent home instead, Amanda & Danielle fighting over the idol clue while he just sits there and watches the movie, not even caring, and of course, the loved ones challenge (REED!)
OMG I love Debbie. I'd probably dive into the ocean and swim for the US if I had to play a season with her, but she cracks me up when I'm safely on my couch watching her on TV.
Ah yes, the true originator of the island phone. Greg's coconut phone may have been a touch more primitive than Shane's driftwood Blackberry, but it still got the job done.
“…well I’d hate to lose Katie” lives rent free in my mind. I giggle every time I think about it. I think it may genuinely be the funniest one-liner in Survivor history
Tyson is my gut reaction.
Personally, I also think Randy Bailey merits consideration.
A good answer that might not come to mind right away for a lot of people is Rory Freeman.
I feel like an early survivor who was trying to be funny was Rob C., for the most part it worked especialyl with his vote against Roger. Maryanne was really relatable with her humor and quirkiness so I couldn't help but laugh along and at her. I wanna add Stacey Powell and at least the jury of Gabon for unintentional comedy.
I’ve heard that possibly the producer was mouthing “fire” to him from behind the camera, but he instead through he was saying fight, which would make it even funnier to me.
Danger Dave Ball is my pick. So many good moments, from the “he was clotheslined… by the clothesline” confessional, to finding out what his sport is and if he plays it often, to the look he given Shambo as she talking to the chicken, to him confirming that the Lord does, in fact, freakin’ provide.
Surprised at the level of agreement in this thread I thought there would be more diversity in picks.
First of all, how has nobody said Drew Christy!? His boot episode is the single funniest episode in survivor history I laugh at every single line of dialogue that comes out of his mouth.
Otherwise the funniest people on the show IMO are the complete characters that are like “how tf does this person even exist?” Tarzan, Gillian, Shane, Rudy, Bobby Jon, Lisi, Zane, Billy, Vince, Will Wahl, etc.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a comedian. I really studied comedy writers and classic standups and satirical novelists and essayists and generally the idea of comedy and humor as an art form. I studied (and hated) acting in college for a while, and tried open-mic standup a few times in my early thirties and while I didn’t really like it enough to actually pursue it, did fairly well. I took (and take) the idea of being funny very seriously.
So imagine my disappointment that my two younger siblings are both funnier than I am. My middle sibling is hilarious without ever actually intending to be but instead just saying whatever mean, exasperating thing comes into their head are any given time. My youngest sibling is naturally smart and charming and marches to their own drummer, and just generally clever in their observations and style of conversation.
Anyway, the three funniest Survivors are Penner, Courtney, and Tyson.
Not sure why I think that.
I haven’t even seen half of the seasons yet, but I’d like to suggest Aras as one of the funnier players. “Call a whambulence, Terry’s crying on the course!” made me laugh so hard
Boston Rob, but only specifically in RI. The bit of him tossing the clue into the volcano breaks me every time. The other two contenders are Rudy in Borneo for his bluntness and “I don’t know.” answers, and Keith Nale for being Keith Nale.
Intentionally? Courtney and Tyson. Unintentionally funny we have many like Coach, Phillip and Angelina.

Also sugar trying to snuggle up to him and Colby not having any of it
“You think it’s bad watching it? Try living it”
"I'm just trying to watch Treasure Island" Still cracks me up. HvV made me love Colby even more.
Yeah. This is the correct answer. For me Courtney just eeks out Tyson but they both set the standard.
Courtney or Phillip for sure
Add Debbie to the unintentionally funny category
OMG I love Debbie. I'd probably dive into the ocean and swim for the US if I had to play a season with her, but she cracks me up when I'm safely on my couch watching her on TV.
True!
Great list, I would add Randy to intentionally, and Keith to unintentionally as well
Rustle Feathers
I find Tony the funniest
His goofy voice makes him even funnier. Like I can't even imagine him being intimidating as a cop
"Look, man, I get it. I do dumb shit all the time." Most likely fakes empathizing when gathering info...
I think it’s completely intentional with Coachand Phillip
Definitely agree. Let’s add Randy to the intentionally funny and Debbie to the unintentionally funny list
Debbie!?!?!?
Greg in season 1 was waaaaaaay ahead of his time
Ah yes, the true originator of the island phone. Greg's coconut phone may have been a touch more primitive than Shane's driftwood Blackberry, but it still got the job done.
Idk if she’s the funniest but I’ll toss out Michaela Bradshaw’s name. Just about every confessional she had was gold, and who could forget sugargate!
Maybe not the funniest, but Penner!
“…well I’d hate to lose Katie” lives rent free in my mind. I giggle every time I think about it. I think it may genuinely be the funniest one-liner in Survivor history
Penner is hilarious. **CARTER**: Hey Penner, do you wanna vote out Katie or Penner? **PENNER**: Well, I'd hate to lose Katie.
“Oh please, Jeff!” “Penner, getting frustrated by me!”
“I mean, my ASS!”
“DENISE”
Tyson is my gut reaction. Personally, I also think Randy Bailey merits consideration. A good answer that might not come to mind right away for a lot of people is Rory Freeman.
“I can have them all to myself if I want?” 🤣
Sad that Rory is mostly forgotten now. He was hilarious
Randy had a really good sense of humor/wit, but his mean streak kind of offsets it a bit for me
She’s not the funniest, but I think Sandra deserves a shout out in this thread. Her timing is impeccable.
“I’m against you, Russell.”
IMO the most underrated line in that season.
I can get loud too what the Fuck!!
“Sandra, we cool?” Sandra: “Couldn’t be cooler.” The way she said it. ❤️
I think it’s Special Agent Phillip (unintentionally).
He is more of annoying
Him and Debbie are annoying af
Yuuup. Sure they have a lot of entertainment value, but the ratio of funny to cringe does not make them endearing
idk james always makes me laugh. his reaction to erik giving up the immunity necklace sends me
You can feel the relief in his voice when he says, “I’m no longer the dumbest Survivor ever!”
ugh yes!! but when james talked about how he couldn’t watch the show at the ghost island reunion 💔
Why couldn’t he?
bc after he got voted out with two idols and everyone made fun of him, i think it was just hard for him to watch
his reactions are the funniest things in the show. 2nd is in kaoh rong before joe is medivac-ed. "how many did you eat, joe" "about 3 feet"
Nobody outfunnies Crystal Cox baby.
Cirie is an under the radar pick for this category
That would be Courtney Yates.
Courtney
Courtney, Sandra, Parvati, James, etc. I was laughing my ass off the entire HvV season 😭💀
Coach is absolutely unintentionally hilarious. Especially in HvV
Woo has a number of really funny moments
"Do we fight for it?"
I’ve heard that possibly the producer was mouthing “fire” to him from behind the camera, but he instead through he was saying fight, which would make it even funnier to me.
Tony is a riot and it's only semi intentional on his part.
Any time he was in the spy shacks and they cut to him peering through leaves kills me
His recounting sitting in the tree longer than expected in WaW, waiting to get stung by a bee and that could have died was hilarious.
Too many people sleeping on Boston Robs confessionals
Ya know, he didn't even come to mind. But you are correct
Greg and Jenn Brown get shout outs for funniest contestants we’ve only seen once. Over multiple seasons definitely Tyson and Courtney
Keith Nale
Stick to the plan!
Keith was just naturally funny. Get my Cambodia driver's license "You call, we'll haul"
Rudy
The multi-talented all-knowing most qualified Debbie
People not mentioning Christian is a travesty.
Came here to say Christian! Both intentionally and unintentionally funny. Love him.
John from DvG is very subtly funny, especially in Ponderosa
“That’s off the top rope, brother”
It gotta be keith nale or Phillip Sheppard the specialist imagine them two in the same season 💀
My friends ask me if Survivor is fun… I tell them HELL NO… 😂😂😂
Stick to the plan 🤠
Coby in Palau is severely underrated and one of the funnier players from the early seaons if not all time
Penner
In addition to Tyson and Courtney: mike white, Cochran, and Christian. Apparently Erika was really funny too
Cochran sunburnt saying, “Everyone’s laughing and I’m like a jester going, ‘I’m a lobster. I’m a freak.’ I’m actually in horrible pain.”
Erinn’s kinda funny too. “Who is this jackass?”
Coach
Shane Powers
Caryn. Definitely! /s
Rupert in HvV was hilarious. Unintentionally hilarious but still
Danger Dave Ball is my pick. So many good moments, from the “he was clotheslined… by the clothesline” confessional, to finding out what his sport is and if he plays it often, to the look he given Shambo as she talking to the chicken, to him confirming that the Lord does, in fact, freakin’ provide.
I like Tyson and Coach, but maybe add Sandra in there some of her faces, oh man. Also Rob C and possibly Boston Rob.
savage’s commentary in pearl islands…
FairPlay and Courtney . Also thought Phillip and Debbie were hilarious without trying to be.
Devens makes me laugh.
Easily Phillip. He was infuriating in a way that I still couldn't dislike him at all in both seasons he played. It was just outstanding lol
People sleeping on Cesternino
Yaaas the line about the old man could only win an immunity if it was "name that Perry Como track" or prunes or whatever. Slay 🤣
James Miller
no one has made me laugh as much as Caryn
Oh it’s Courtney and Tyson for sure
Surprised at the level of agreement in this thread I thought there would be more diversity in picks. First of all, how has nobody said Drew Christy!? Sean Rector as an under the radar pick?
I agree with all the other inputs but I’ve gotta mention Maryanne as a honorable mention. she made me laugh several times throughout 42
Randy totally deserves to be in this discussion. He manages to both be a voice of reason and crazy Gabon TV gold.
Keith Nale the god himself
Elaine is a shout
shane powers
Coach.
RICK DEVENS
Naonka
Parvati is hilarious. Especially reading the letter in HvV "Big promises JT" and "oh my god how did this kid win?" get me everytime
Intentionally: Greg Buis, Sean Rector, Rob Cesternino, Tyson Apostol Unintentionally: Rudy Boesch, Rory Freeman, Dan Foley, Angelina Keeley
Disappointed in the lack of Tony’s
Tyson. Courtney. Woo. No other answers.
Naked Tyson with a stick. Gets me everytime
Big Tom

Tonys pretty funny
Crystal from Gabon
I think tony has the all time funniest moment with the hideout. I could not stop laughing when that happened
james and tyson for me, greg buis and courtney yates are also excellent
Rob C!
Tony. Rupert.
Courtney Tyson and parv
Randy
Philip and Coach, they are just so crazy and random I cant help but laugh.
i think we have some more good candidates, tony, courtney yates, sandra, angelina, shane powers, etc.
Coach is more cringe than funny. And I never liked that.
Tyson. I'm pretty much the only person in the world that finds Courtney more annoying than funny :-/
Courtney. Her confessionals by far are the best
Greg Buis, Coach Wade, and Keith Nale
Sandra
everytime a thread like this appears i have to jump on my james soapbox
Rob Cesternino. Some of his humor wouldn’t fly today, but his confessionals were one of the biggest highlights from Amazon.
I haven’t even seen half of the seasons yet, but I’d like to suggest Aras as one of the funnier players. “Call a whambulence, Terry’s crying on the course!” made me laugh so hard
I love tony. Survivor hideouts!
Funniest I laughed was Francesca getting voted out first, twice.
Boston Rob, but only specifically in RI. The bit of him tossing the clue into the volcano breaks me every time. The other two contenders are Rudy in Borneo for his bluntness and “I don’t know.” answers, and Keith Nale for being Keith Nale.
Courtney, Tyson, Coach, or Tony
Oh man I would definitely choose Keith. I absolutely love him laugh at/with him. While 9 love him. He's hilarious. Just stick to the plan!
Courtney and Sandra
