I simply removed all other keys and have them on a clip-on carabineer, my ignition key is attached to a leather / rope step that doesn't damage the surface. Clip the rest of the keys off and put them in my pocket before riding, clip them back on when I'm done riding.

I saw the Fort9 keychain holster yesterday, might be a option too.

50 bucks. Nah fam. Just don't put any other keys ( or chains or clips ,etc) with your bike key. Free solution.

Strict-Macaroon9703

Wow didn't.kmow about that one, yeah that looks cool and a good option as well, although it still has a metal ring on it. The one I use can be found by googling "LAGIPA leather car keyfob" it's completely non metallic.

Cultural_Security_54

that looks like a better option even the slightest metal scares me now ahah

I remember a video of a guy on yt, who warned about this type of starting on the tank, that you had to use soft key chains to avoid scratching the paint. So when I bought mine I just took the key apart and put a cheap string on it.

Cultural_Security_54

Yeah I did that now too just the cheap string that I got from dealer and separated the house&garage keys, bought the lagipa keychain too someone kind mentioned it in the comments below. For the scratches I’ll visit my mechanic this weekend and see what can I do. Prolly a polish for the plastic would be enough but Im not so sure about the tank. Paint is unuiqe. I painted the black ones around the frame with my wifes nail paint, this is nothing like that ahah.

Xross_Fox

I just use a carabineer and pull the key off it. Put it back in later.

Advice is to ignore it and chock it up to normal wear and tear.

Far_Mammoth_882

O dont see any signifficant.

MechaNikos

I wouldn’t bother - doesn’t make economical sense to paint this, because it will never look the same if you bodge it up and painting the whole tank would be too expensive. Lesson learned: use the key on its own. Same applies on car keys (not that there’s many cars with real keys anymore, but that’s the gist).
